  • PADAM - DHIKKU THERIYATHA KAATIL
    Ragam: Ragamalika
    Talam: Adi
    Composer: Subramania Bharatiar
A nayika or maiden in search of Krishna sets out on a tiring journey finding for her Lord. Losing her way in the forest,
she meets with a hunter, who is astounded by her beauty and pleads with her to marry him. She in turn calls out to him as her brother and tells him that she is already married and it is not right of him to even glance at her. He tells her that he is not bothered about all these moral pleadings of hers and that her beauty has intoxicated him.
Hearing these unbearable words from the hunter,
the Nayika pleads to Krishna to save her. Unable to
take this anymore, she faints, and suddenly hears her beloved’s flute. She wakes up to realise it was Him all along as the hunter.
