I'm so bummed! I just came to the end of your videos. Thankfully I get to look forward to your next post. Definitely enjoyed catching up in the last few weeks. Great videos. Thank you so much for taking us along. Safe travels!!
Everything looked amazing! I’ll have to see if there are any locations in the places we’re traveling to. So much food for the cost and a really nice variety of sides and meat. Chris did a great job filming. Thanks so much for sharing, can’t wait to try Japanese BBQ!
Omg thanks Guys appreciate it! My family started laughing and Said that they couldn’t believe that u said my name! You’re like celebrities! Peace and love ❤️
Another great video!!! I grew up in that area of Torrance. There used to be a Japanese restaurant that served noodles and green onion fried rice on the corner of that strip mall. After seeing this place, dedinitely have to try the noodle and rice bowls. Everything you ordered looked good though. Always happy to see your videos! ❤
Now, you can walk-off Gyu Kaku "Japanese" BBQ and compare it to Gen "Korean" BBQ. Grab some In-N-Out along the way. What a food adventure. Thanks for another great video.
@@billandlisa I would ask you to do a Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers review, but they're creating a traffic jam on Hawthorne Blvd. Am I right, Robert Solovy? 🤣
@@alant.541 We just drove by RC's yesterday, it was crazy long lines! We have a vlog from the one in Long Beach (no lines there lol)... th-cam.com/video/PtZl2oyjjoU/w-d-xo.html
I haven't had red meat and I can't tell you how long but after seeing all your vlogs, last night for the first time I had Peking raviolis that were pan-fried, Omg now I know what I was missing thank you for all your wonderful reviews
I never tried Japanese BBQ, but since I'm from Chino Hills, California and will be at Redondo Beach pier on Friday, April 16, I will definitely try this place out. Thanks for this wonderful video. Looks so good and I know I will not regret it.
The food looked great, never heard of a cheese corn appetizer like you had, but I’ve seen a lot of corn and/or cheese added to ramen, pizza, etc on other YT videos, so I guess it was going to make its way to the US, one way or another (also, I don’t eat out much anymore, so I learn a lot from YT 😂). And your son did a great job of filming!
I haven't tried a Korean or Japanese BBQ yet but it's on my list! Everything looked excellent, especially that secret pot with shishito pepper! You had smores with Zedd's "Beautiful Now" playing in the background 🤣. Heading to Google Maps to see where the closest one to me is!
Hello again Smiling Couple !...this video was so great. I wonder if you have eatin Shrimp in Lobster sauce or Lobster Cantonise? Love to see it if you guys happen to stumble upon it. I have never missed any of your shows !
I have one in my area and am curious. I have a family of 4 with my son being 6'2 my kid's and husband can eat alot. Just wondering if I order a set menu for 4 will it fill us up?
This reminds me of Gyu- Kaku Japanese BBQ from Boston. They have a lunch special too.! I really miss eating in the restaurant. I do take out and eat at home for safety reasons. Scare of covid 19.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying Ramen YAMADAYA in Torrance. that place is killer and this is coming from a ramen snob. all the ramens there are good but the spicy miso is a stand alone winner. its near crenshaw and 182nd area. MUST GET: A. spicy miso ramen (which ever spice level you feel suits you best) B. the premium YAMADAYA toppings, will not regret. C. definitely ask for the optional free fresh garlic! they bring a few cloves and a garlic press to the table. add as you please... WORTH IT. D. enjoy the best ramen ive found outside of japan (honestly better than what i found in japan as well)
Gyu-Kaku is great! I've been to one in Japan, it was a long time ago when charcoal was used to cook the meat. I hit the one in Vegas and the Waikiki location. Always tasty and the beef tongue is a good choice.🖕🖕
I had me a grand old time eating with you. Thin cut hot fire cook quick eat fast. Seeing more cheese in Asian cooking than in the past. Appreciated the showing of using the rice bowl in eating. As always, your videos make want to go eat. HEADS UP: House of Prime Rib, San Francisco, is now doing indoor seating again. For parties of 1 or 2, you need to use OPEN TABLE for reservations.
Hello Bill and Lisa! Wow I found today’s video really fascinating, I love Japanese food but here in the UK it’s mostly stirfry and rice/noodle bowls in the restaurants which tend to be quite traditional (and delicious of course!). I had heard of Japanese barbecue, and it’s really interesting to see dishes coming out of Japan which have western influences (like the cheese corn and s’mores😋) It all looked delicious, Lisa you have a great command of the grill! Also great that Chris was along doing some very nice camera work, another fantastic video, thank you! Wishing you both all the best and looking forward to the next one, Rob 😊 (Ps one question - do you get uncomfortably hot sitting so near to the grill during the meal?!)
Thanks R C! Hope you get the chance to try this type of Japanese bbq one day, it's quite good! It's not hot at all sitting near the grill, maybe because the heat is focused and not very big at all.
There's no such thing as Japanese BBQ... This is Korean BBQ. Koreans brought their barbecue style to Japan, and Japan is now being disingenuous and promoting it as Japanese BBQ. Japan historically never had this type of BBQ culture. This is Korean style.
Fun fact: Japanese BBQ (yakiniku) is actually just Korean BBQ. Koreans brought their barbecue cuisine to Japan in the early 1920's. Japan actually used to call it "Korean food". But in the 1960's they stopped calling it Korean food and started it calling it "yakiniku" (grilled meat). This is actually just Korean BBQ. It's unfortunate that Gyu-Kaku is being dishonest in their marketing and promoting it is Japanese BBQ.
Japanese BBQ is actually just Korean BBQ. It was introduced to Japan by Koreans. But Japanese are falsely promoting it as Japanese BBQ. It's not. It's just Korean BBQ.
Your videos are so comforting and soothing in these dire times. The opening is very 90s nostalgic. Please don’t stop posting!
I've never seen any of your videos but I was just looking up gyu-kaku because I want to go there for my birthday and this was SO CUTE

Now you guys have a heads up on what to expect; good stuff!
Went to the one in new york, same name but not sure if its the same company, food was excellent.
