    This palette reminds me of the 80s and 90s, when the Miami Vice and the Santa Fe look were so popular.

    Tofu, Putty, Oatmeal, Almond, Harvest Wheat, then Buff...these SW beige colors are way more exciting than the carpet colors of the Crane boys. LOL

    I enjoy your videos, though this one is not my preference(cooler beiges). These colors remind me of the medium to dark taupes of the 90's and early 2000's. I do however like the "slightly yellow with a wink of green", Wool Skein. For me, beige is back, but, warmer beige to counter all that gray in the past 10 years. 😂 Btw, we just finished painting SW "wool skein" for our exterior. Love it!

      Try the ones with no yellow at all like with some brown, gray or green in them. Definitely more modern looking.

    I am redoing a guest room and the colour my partner chose is called 'Labrador Sands No 4' ( bit like that Kestral White ) - well I have done all the cutting in and asked my partner if he intended to go for the colour of 'Used Bandage' - because that what it reminds me of. All the accents in the room are Black and gold so I guess it will work ok.

    • @lillieberger2883
      @lillieberger2883 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lillieberger2883 it will be a looooong time, we have a 14-room house, so when it's done, it's done! When you think 'future' think 10 years! It is a bedroom that has only been slept in twice in the last 20 years. My partner only goes in there because he keeps his underwear in the chest of draws there - otherwise it's just a museum. Next project are the halls, I'm dreading it!.

    Hi there, so I’ve decided to paint interior white including trim and ceiling. My question is do I need to make the sheen different on trim, and ceiling flat? Thanks so much for all the helpful info!

    My boyfriend and I are decorating our house for the first time, he loves greys and blacks and everything cold and when I suggested beige's he was like "EW, brown?? No thanks." Until I started showing him how good a neutral pallet looks, and explained how colors with blue bases are all cold and uninviting, but colors with red bases are warm and home-y. Same with the lights in the house, they were all super bright white almost blue, so I bought some warm white bulbs and now the whole house looks so much more cozy. It's the little things

      I always felt this way too, I love cool colors most! But you're so right about needing warmth in a space. Red is also "true neutral" temperature on the color wheel, with yellow being warm and blue being cool, so that has helped me feel more comfortable with these red or violet undertoned beiges. Plus I think black accents with beige/warm greige can look sophisticated, modern, and inviting!

  • @vaderladyl

    Very cozy colors but I prefer my beiges with no pink at all in them. I like them as a makeup palette thought, just not for the house.

    Question. My son tells me that if I have a small room that I should paint with a light color and if I have a large room go darker. The smaller the lighter, the larger can go darker, but not the other way . Any truth in this?

      I've seen bronzer in that color! Think sunburnt redhead trying to even everything out 😆. And there was that corn silk pressed powder decades ago that wasn't supposed to be, but turned it everywhere there was oil 😞.

    So pinkish? Very 80's 90's. This is funny as I just painted over a dark Taupe(almost identical to Emerging Taupe--with less pink and no real black undertone) in my front room that is similar to these(painted this Taupe years ago)and switched to a lighter softer warm neutral. But I liked my Taupe color I had before better than this new Taupe. The old color I painted over did have a hint of red/mauve, but not to the extreme of these new colors. I like beige shades, but not these pinkish hues. 😉
