This acid does 2 things, it gives instant relief so there is almost no pain at all and second it kills any bacteria so it can heal fast with no infection. After this the hoof needs to be wrapped up. Yes the wrap will get dirty and nasty after about 2 to 3 days but by that time the wound has already taken on a really good healing process to where the wrap can probably just be removed or replaced with a final wrap if necessary.
