Cannot agree more, and so happy to come across this. For years people have looked at me funny when I mention this as one of Scorcese's greats. This is not only my favourite, but also the one I've re-watched most. There's an energy to the mayhem of mind that is entirely hypnotic. Utterly underrated, but I expect this will in future be regarded as one of the greatest films of, possibly, the greatest director of them all. Also have to mention that, though Cage is brilliant, Goodman's impact is immense and vastly underrated as well.
