The issue, as you mentioned, is the time for lower spenders to acquire the defiant, and then how long it will take to acquire enough of the specific resources to get it to a useful level. Just seems like a very very long expensive grind before it becomes useful.
the researchis a MUCH more valuable resource, and while it is still slow, it's not slower than tiering the ship, the ship doesn't need to be wildly high. MOST of this month i performed super high armadas with only a t3 defiant. the RESEARCH is what matters and it comes significantly faster.
I bought the Mantis. It has been a complete disaster due to the bugs with the Apex hostiles. They literally no longer exist in the systems I can hit, so the resulting hostile grind is simply unsustainable. So when I saw the Defiant, my only thought was that there is no way I am going to dump more money on another ship. Until I get recompense for my last ship investment, I can't justify the risk to buy yet another ship. It doesn't matter how beneficial the Defiant may or may not be.
Why wasn’t Miles on any ships? I thought Sisko Miles Lorca is a strong combo. I use it on my second ship with 56Kahn on first ship. A video on how to crew for solos would be great.
I like that idea. And it is strong. And WOULD likely be the crew for any NON ENTERPRISE 3rd ship. But Kirk on the enterprise is a must have in this case. Until I get a stronger ship to take the E’s place
I’m still not impressed. Maybe I’m upset because I dumped $400 to upgrade it faster. I was expecting so much more than a Cerritos 2.0. I guess for being an armada support ship, it’s great. Other than that, still extremely disappointed
I'm extremely upset how underwhelming the Defiant has been so far. I spent the $100 to unlock it day one and now wish I hadn't. As ops 42 it's more or less useless to me and with the ship specific currency to upgrade it will be months before it even gets remotely close to be maybe useful? As a whole, the Defiant is a flop for the community unless you drop a grand to get it up to at least your ops lvl (ops locking is stupid).

I'm Ops 43 and it definitely helps me. I used to have to do double ceritos boosts and a couple of exos on my epics, now I only have to do one boost and maybe an exo to do the same.

I think one more rare g4 will help to do this solo armada . It will give a extra loot bonus.

My hint on solo is stock to incursion and abuse invading exo 300% armada dmg.

Reminder: DJ was using Augur instead of Defiant. So his replace Defiant fron an Augur is smart choice.

With 2 Unc42 ships Defiant don’t replace a t8 epic34.
I am Ops 42 and it helped me immensely. My ships are lower powered with t2 Valdore, t6 Ent, and t3 Defiant
I hear ya, I'm Ops level 31 and have defeated every Defiant i have come across with my Sally. Glad i didn't speed through the levels just for Defiant.
I note your defiant didnt have full below deck after tiering it up
