    You might not be scratch golfer, but the way you sink those 15 footers is definitely better than most +handicap golfers

    To shoot 5 over on the ridge course is really good. Its a hard course, very impressive. A bad day for a low handicapper on that course is well into the mid 80's or worse.

    Hopefully your handicap will go down to the 5 range soon!

      Thanks, Daniel! The videos I post aren't always chronological. The last video (at Tobiano) was actually filmed over a year ago. This round with Nash was last week. Have dropped some good scores recently but also a TON of poor ones. Cap hovering in the low 8s at the moment. Hoping to get it back into the 5s or 6s in the coming months!

    Well played, good entertainment, thanks.
    I’m sure you know your putting is pretty amazing. For my own 5 hcp game, I keep an estimate of “strokes gained putting” compared to what I know tour guys do (they’re 50% at 7 ft, 10% at 30 ft etc. I’m usually losing 2 to 3 full strokes per 18. Your putting over this 18 was tour level. Great job.
    Love to see more of Nash. These great players just hit solid shots one after another and then take care of business on the short game. Make it seem so simple.

  • @fatsidekick

    It amazed me that, tbh, your swings look flat, as you mentioned in the other comments. And your distance is average casual men’s golfers distance. Yet you can score so well, comparing to most weekend warriors. How do you do that? I think it’s the straight shots and the accuracy of the distance control? Anyways, appreciate your videos which show us that you dont have to drive 300 yards to be single handicap. Good game!

    I followed now for several years and I wonder how you managed to increase your numbers along the way… I can’t recall exactly but haven’t you hit a 5 iron in the past from arround 160 yards where you hit now a 7? Also your drives have been much shorter. I can’t see you having changed your swing dramatically…

    • @NotAScratchGolfer
      @NotAScratchGolfer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Manfred! I've probably gained about one club of distance in the last few years. No major swing changes but I've probably added just a bit of speed. Conditions are a major factor, too. Winters in the Pacific Northwest are cold/wet. My stock 7i may only go ~145 in the Winter here, whereas in the Summer it's comfortably a 155 club. Of course, there's also slope & wind to account for, too. Hence why I may pull an 8i from any yardage fro 120-155.

  • @MrUnfragged
    @MrUnfragged ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Adam. your backswing is extremely long. has anyone ever mentioned that? it's really hard to hit the ball straight with that much length in the swing. Not being mean here just curious. Great video once again. GW

    • @NotAScratchGolfer
      @NotAScratchGolfer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words!
      And re: the overswing, yes, I hear about it frequently and it's something I always ask about when I get lessons. I've yet to have a Pro tell me to shorten up the swing, though. It seems there's much lower hanging fruit to tackle in my swing before getting to this.

    • @MrUnfragged
      @MrUnfragged ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok. Watch a video with your backswing and compare it to any tour player. I find this inexcusable that not one “pro” has addressed it. Trust me it might be the main thing that improves your game. Your swing is fine. Path looks ok, face control is good. Setup looks solid. Try taking some half backswings on the range and let me know the results. GW

    • @nashkassam5632
      @nashkassam5632 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This hole has a double fairway and im guessing the 530 length is if you play up the left side. When you go up the right the hole gets shorter. Also plays downhill and tees were up. Drive was probably 270-285 in actuality. He did out drive my 3 wood so thats good for adam 😜…

      Identify what is the biggest factor causing your poor scores, practice it for a couple weeks, and go to the course for a round. Repeat. Golf is a never ending process of fixing your mistakes, slumps happen to the best of us. I had a 4 month slump with driver, had to go to the range almost weekly without playing rounds to sort it out. It will come back eventually… sigh lol
