  • Getting separated from your dive boat can happen to anyone regardless of your competence as a diver and the professionalism of the crew. Currents can change directions, top and bottom currents don’t always match or the diver boat can be attending to another diver and simply lose sight of you. These new Nautilus Life Line Marine GPS units are far better than the older style with the radio. The radios in the old style were not dependable and even illegal in some countries. The new units are legal everywhere when programed properly, don’t require registration and the user can replace the batteries themselves. Included in this video is what the boat operator sees when a unit is activated and would be extremely hard to go unnoticed and is very easy to locate the diver.

Thanks for the great video this is very helpful!
Also I'm curious is there any information about how long the device can keep transmitting with brand new batteries? I can't seem to find any info regarding that.

Can you show how it opens and lets the antennae out? The instructions included in the box aren't clear. How do you remove the antenna retainer correctly?

The clear plastic cover slides to the side and not up. The antenna will uncoil and pop up without any assistance. If you still need more clarification let me know and I will make a short video on just that, but it might take me a week to get to it.

Will it alert any planes flying in the area? Especially will it alert any search planes that my be flying in the distance, but not directly overhead?

My understanding is US Coast Guard search and rescue planes all have both DSC and AIS and can receive signals up to 35 miles away.
