Morrison has ALWAYS surrounded himself with wonderful musicians and this concert is a case in point....Pee Wee Ellis excels on baritone, tenor and soprano saxophone, Nicky Scott on electric bass, Alec Dankworth on stand-up/acoustic bass, Georgie Fame ..well what a musician...the horn / woodwind section seem like they're enjoying themselves playing those "traditional" 50's horn lines/riffs...
Absolutely full body, spirit and soul. He only gets better with time. Thank you God for this holy spirit in human body form, singing about you. I am so blessed everytime I hear Van's songs and his renition of life.

great to find this! - I recorded this amazing concert onto a cassette tape back in 1997 from BBC radio 2 and the tape was played to death and the sound quality was knackered... THANKYOU so much !!

Great album, Van even smiles a few times and looks like he is enjoying himself. Those musicians must feel good that they have contributed to a selection of songs by Van Morrison as he changes his line up all the time, great stuff !

I'm 68 years old now, I saw you live when I was 15 and Moondance was your newest album. You wore a blue 3 piece suit, had 3 back up singers and a 3 piece Horn section. You made me a lifelong fan. I owned all your vinyl, Astral Weeks, Tupelo Honey, St Dominic's Preview, and on and on. You truly are "The Man".
I am also 68 years old and have been hooked on Van for just short of 50 years. His music has been uplifting and comforting in good times and not so good times. As Elvis Costello said “ for a Protestant from East Belfast there is a lot of the Holy Ghost in Van Morrison”. Van is the Spiritual healer for me.
I always miss Brian Kennedy's voice on this song.Id love to see them back on stage together.

As a true Van Morrison fan you have to admiire the briliance of this man's music and talent. He always expects the best and with his hand picked band deilivers the best of his own music. He is his own man an always does it his way., and it works. A Musical Genius of our generation. Who knows how long. So far it continues on in 2021. Amazing. You are my favorite Van Morrison.

And beyond the rubicon,I'm 44 and I have more songs by him on Playlist than any other artist,love baby blue it's all over now from his band them,and go see Joe harper Saturday morning,at least 60 songs,he has a song for every mood,emotion,spiritual helping hand etc

@@tefomatlabe1505 yes he's my all time favourite recording star, I'm 81 years young this year, and Van is 5 years younger, I've been following since his first hits with THEM. ie. Gloria, Brown eyed girl ect. And when he bought out Astral Weeks that was it for me, I'll be following Van the Man till the end of my time .

Leo Green really gets into it. The sax solo with Leo and Pee Wee Ellis on Rough God Goes Riding (at 12:08) is probably my all time favorite. I could watch it over and over.

Cuando tenía 19 años este album me hizo descubrir a Van Morrison. A día de hoy aún me emociona como el primer día y nada de lo que ha hecho después me ha llegado tanto.
Con este vídeo he podido comprobar lo que ya suponía: no ha llevado banda como esta jamás, músicos de primerísima línea completamente acompasados, y lo más importante, disfrutando infinitamente, ¡Van el primero!.

Me ganas de unos pocos años, yo también empecé a descubrir a Van con este album. Recuerdo que una vez en dias de cine hicieron un video hablando de Jeremy Irons y pusieron Rough God Goes riding, les quedó un video niquelado.
5 conciertos (2 viajando a UK) y 22 años después (yo descubrí a VM en 2002) y Van sigue siendo mi artista favorito de todos (vivos o muertos) es el puto amo.
Thanks for a great concert with such a great band! Wish it hasd been with him on his recent "Keep me Singing" tour.
His tune "Enlightenment" is a sleeping giant of a song.
