After 10 years of playing for free. They've finally made it almost impossible NOT to buy premium time, just to make sure you have enough credits to buy ammo. I uninstalled last night for about the tenth time. It isn't just a pain to play for free, it's now almost the least intelligent thing one can do. It ensures a grind that may never get you anywhere. I might reinstall when they tweak the economy back to where it doesn't take ten more years to afford ammo and upgrades.
By the time that happens the game will be on its last broken leg 😂😂 Wargaming management literally has 0 fucking clue how excruciating they've made their "f2p" game "f2p"
If you've played for 10 years, surely you wouldn't mind paying $50 for it? Its what? 5 a year for how many hours you spent on it? Surely your time and enjoyment is worth more than that? And additionally, this is a business with overheads and manpower. Not saying their profits are fully justified, but you're playing what others put in time and energy to create. Surely you can see some value in that?
@@randomyoutubebrowser5217 Firstly, if a business puts out a product that is free, you are the product. They make their money with advertising and providing the information, limited as it may be, that you've provided. This is standard practice and most all of us are aware of it and still choose to play. Secondly, when one advertises a game such as WOT for 'free play' then does everything they can to ensure that you are unable to progress past certain points in the game, they are doing so strategically to further make money from using you and your information. While I don't begrudge them from making money, they should learn from the cable television companies that have fought so long to sell you their services, then force feed you the commercials that you must endure. Their product becomes less and less attractive when one begins to wonder why one is paying to be forced to pay more. Be it through force fed advertising, or forced pay services to advance.
Stock tanks are unplayable, their only purpose is to create a grindwall and make you spend money on free xp so you can play the game. A lot of the tech tree tanks, especially at tier VIII, because of the premiums, are obsolete and useless, i cant imagine playing any of them stock, its literally unplayable, like, not "ha ha this tank sucks" kind of way, but a literally cant play the game with it, you are there just to feed hit points to enemies and spectate the game.
To be real, current tier 8, even lifted out of stock, is still useless compare to those meta premiums. Now stock pain, that's a different level at tier 9. Try the same tier 8 setup but everyone's better than you, and suffer through 60k exp just to reasonably pen something.
So true. Some stock tanks are just horrible, I am thinking of my M46 Patton. If you didnt grind the last optional gun of the Pershing, you basically have 160 pen instead of 190. Hopefully, this isnt the case for every tanks. Even stock, the Conqueror is very decent in combat, but damn that thing is also very slow..
New ranks tend to be alright-ish at stock tier 8 and 9, older lines tier 8 and 9 stock is fuckiing pain, t34-2 and m46 come to mind because you have to unlock so much before being able to damage anything, look at object 430 vs t-54, object gets best gun from start, t-54 has to unlock a wall of things before top gun, WG should rework older tank lines because their grind wall is nonsensical
@@aynersolderingworks7009 I tried grinding, but T-54 was completely unplayable for me with the tier VI 85mm gun from T-34-85. Literally unplayable, I had to spend so much free xp just so i can play the damn thing.
At tier 9 it gets even worse, there are 2 tanks that are competitive stock at tier 9 iirc, one of them being obj 430, which is already almost maxed when u research it lmao
IMO I think the best way to grind the Cent 7 is: 1) Free exp the tracks (need tracks to even mount equipment) 2) 20-Pdr Type B 3) Engine 4) Turret (don't mount yet) 5) 105mm Gun (only mount turret when you get the top gun). The 17 pdr has crap alpha and meh pen, but at least you have good DPM, and with the engine it's decently mobile, so you can do some flanking and hammer weak spots. Don't mount the turret until you have the top gun unlocked, the ONLY thing it adds is +150 hp and 10m view range, no ROF buff, no gun stats, nothing like that, and it weighs an extra 2000 kg, so hurts your power to weight. I did the grind by going for the 105mm first, and it broke me, I ended up spending gold to convert exp for the gun, and it was incredibly painful because of how slow the tank was, I think it'd be a lot less painful going for the engine first.

QB: Well played to the T30 for loading gold and going through my tank. Me: Yeah, right. Well played to WG for the built-in cheat-mode (works best if you pay regularly!-)
I understand the purpose on the F2P Account and that QB never purchased anything on this one, but to be honest.... due to the time he can invest into the game and his abilities as a WoT Player, I think this purpose is somewhat obsolete. With so many Bonds, Gold, Premiums and techtree tanks etc. all achieved for free, he has overtaken 99,9% of the F2P players by lightyears and there is no comparison anymore. Any disadvantage like no large repair/med kits or premium consumables is not because he couldn't afford on this account. If he wanted he could have all of this advantages.
I don't understand your point. Why is f2p so hard to understand? He didn't spend any penny. Any person can do what he did. The only difference is most people wont take strategic approach to it and don't have 10+ years of experience in the game.
@@philkuma he is right tho, not everyone has this skill level. Calling it complaining is a stretch tbh. QB has this game as a job. It would only be his objective to grind the frick with a f2p acc
@@philkuma I don’t complain, just making a point. In WoT you pay basically to speed up progress. When you are good and put more time into the game you can achieve the same. Premium tanks he has more than most paying players because he has the time and is good in the game. The only thing missing is premium time. And this he can compensate with time and ability as well.
He also doesn't use bonds for directives or the high dollar premium consumables on this account. He says it goes against being a free to play player, because most don't have them to spend.
I often find that talking/speaking about the game, makes me better. Back in the days, before WoT, me and 1 or 2 friends would take turns playing. When explaining my actions I found that I got a better overview of where to place myself, and became more relaxed. This allowed me to be just a bit more patient. Resulting in better aim and better decisions like changing location or waiting for an ally to flank.
Time does go by quicker when your having fun. I usually try to complete 2 to 3 of the missions in the mission marathon then I end up purchasing the tank if I want it. I do this because I don't have time due to other priorities.

One idea how to soften stock grind: Damaging higher tier tanks gets you more xp. Why not following this concept and give tanks with stock configuration a small xp bonus as well.
I have over 9000 matches and can't remember the last time I played more than 3 matches in a row. For me everything in the real world wins out over gaming. screw grinding. Live in the moment!
The insight into marathons is exactly why I don't bother with them - whatever I accumulate during regular/casual play (a few hours here and there) is about it.
One of the issues in WoT is how damage is your source of income, dmg = Credits (Yes i know spotting gives some too but not enough) :P You make way too little credits for the amount of damage you may be able to do, especially at high tiers.. And Especially when you take into account the Premium Rounds.. When you look at WoWs ships has much more health and you do more dmg and obviously you make more credits and you actually make credits compared to WoT.. They really need to rework dmg = credits and how exspensive some ammunition is.. Also they should try and really do something about the feeling you are fighting your own team more than actually fighting together to win..
They aren't going to. Most people at tier ten lose money per match. This encourages them to buy premium vehicles to fuel the credits they need to play their tier tens more. WG likes this dynamic.
Yes that may be true, But if you use all your advantages at your disposal, Premium acc+Credit booster+clan booster+ Premium Tank, you can earn up to 200k credits per battle which is insane, so if they rework it, they need to nerf premium earn and I think they won't do that

My biggest "grind" is MM tanks by tank tier and not gun tier. Grinding a tank with a lower tier gun, like a tier 8 gun that is matched up against a tier 10 tank. That makes grinding a tank so much harder.
The Automatic Fire Extinguisher is still pretty f2p, since you just collect those and don't use them that often anyway, so they end up being essentially free. But maybe that's just me. HelonTankBlaster-NA LeRenardSubtil-EU
No mate, this is just QB being plain stupid and not using those. You have no way of running out of auto extinguishers. There is literally no reason to NOT take those insteas of manual ones. (I keep my auto extinguishers at 30 and anytime I look in my storage I always have more than the last time I checked) And same goes for stock tanks, he's piling up 300k+ free exp and for what? It's like F2Ps never had any free exp to at least skip to top guns to play like humans (bcs let's be real, stock tanks are not supposed to be played in current state of the game)
They need a credit multiplier. 1 day login, x1.1 - 2 days x1.2 - 3 days x 1.3 ....Max at 10 and so x2. Then it drops by 0.1 for every day you don't play. It would help with player retention and give the economy a jump.

I used to play with a premium account and I bought premium vehicles, buy gold and what not but no long. I’m now 100% FTP, it’s a pain but not going to spend another dime on this game. One thing to note is that when I had a premium account I had a win rate at 50% up to 35k battles. Since I’ve gone FTP my win rate has dropped considerably in the last 2k games. Proving my suspicion that WOT is all about pay to win.
But if you already have premium tanks you can still use all the gold ammo and premium consumables. So unless MM changes for premium account users your win rate should be the same. But i have my suspicions there is some secret skill based MM, cause it's way too often where the one day you roflstomp your enemies for an easy 70 % wins and the other you have to fight tooth and nail to achieve 50%...
19:00 - Missing family time because you're grinding is the true F2P experience. It's also why F2P games are never worth your time as a F2P player. Every missed event to boost progress hurts, but so does missing other things because you're at home grinding like some sort of loser.
Time is passing faster when you are happy ... but also, those are the times you want to look back at. You create memories that will last for your entire life. When you are bored or unhappy, time simes to pass slower, but also those are the times you want to forget laiter.
I like your videos and you start me to play this game again. Unfortunately this game is different than 5 years ago. Random games are packed with premium tanks. My win rate was 53+ before. Now its hard to get more than 30%. Usually my daily win rate is 5-20%. How you grind 70k (for next tier tank) with that? It will take years to play for next tank. No thanks. I have noticed that when playing german tanks I`m always 2tier lower. Matchmaking sucks.
Check what was on the teams when the losses pile up faster than bills and you'll notice all the low win rates flooding onto the teams never mind one team getting the bulk of the decent players.
Lmao my friend, not to worry you, but low winrate like that is completely on you. Literally only advice u can get is "git gud". Premium tanks don't affect winrates in your games, even blaming MM would be better argument, bcs it actually sometimes makes the difference. Most likely you just got rusty after big wot break, practice some and u will get back to old winrate. Also the amount of braindead ppl playing spgs was reduced greatly, so playing for any other class except light tank got so much easier and fun
Full stock prototype? Man, thanks for nightmares. I remember it in 2014 - no repair kit reuse, 5deg of gun depression, atrocious gun handling especially with stock turret, turret rotation speed of TD with huuuuge dispersion. I recall losing to Comet 1vs1 - he ammoracked me twice, i had 17s reload and he circled me cause I could not hit him with that dispersion values (I could not even turn turret fast enough tracked). And Comet is not especially famous for it's agility. So I lost almost full hp tank to tank with third of hitpoints who decided to yolo me at the end of battle. And when I played it, I think it already had reload buffed.
Quickybaby, I’ve played mostly free my entire 7 years playing, never shot gold, only bought premium time on and off, I enjoy the challenge, you and a couple others have taught me to play slow and think, utilize terrain and team mates, I’ve long taken auto aim off to get those precise shots into weak points, keep up the good videos!
war thunder (WT) seems more fun because of the variety of vehicles and weapons and combine arms that the gameplay provides but I'd argue that the grind to get the vehicle you want is more miserable than world of tanks (WOT). how WT works for tier advancement is based off a number of vehicles researched within a tier to advance to the next tier. so you would have to research self-propelled anti air, self-propelled artillery, light tanks, heavy tanks, tank destroyers, infantry fighting vehicles within a tier until the total amounts to 4 or 5 vehicles researched to unlock the next tier. what i like about WOT is how linear the progression is; if you want to unlock a tank destroyer, keep playing the tank destroyer class within the respective nation to progress through the research tree. the research tree will eventually fork so you may have to play a different class to get to the class you want, but it's usually 1 or 2 times that it forks off so you can keep playing the tank class you want which in turn matures you to be a better player in that class of tanks- it makes sense. I feel like the way WT is designed is to force players to try variety but I prefer to leave that to player preference- if we want to experiment with different stuff, let us choose to do it on our own terms, don't force it on us because everyone has different playstyles. long rant i know, but this is my take on it
Playing for free is definitely a pain, and playing without gold to convert freeXP is more than an annoyance when you're grinding a relatively poor vehicle.
Watched your review video on the wz114 and decided it wasn't worth the pain and suffering of the marathon... it seems like the more events and marathons that come up to play kind of force you to play to keep up with the game to get the newest tanks and newest content and once you start feeling like you're forced to play to get these things the fun goes away quickly and eventually you just burn out and have to leave the game along for weeks maybe even months at a time. Usually if I participate in any marathons the furthest I'll get is 70 or 80% and then I pay for the tank with the discount rather than trying to grind all the way through, just takes too long and I'd call myself a decent player. Thanks for the content, hopefully the family wasn't too mad at you to come and visit and spend a lot of your time playing games :P
I recently moved to the EU server after many years on the NA. Here are a couple of interesting things I have noticed starting out with a new account again. 1. The seal clubbing happens at a much higher rate then I thought. Having been years since playing the low tiers I did not know this was happening at such a rate. Good players, if you are doing this to inflate your ego, please stop this. All you are doing is driving any new player out of the game. 2. The new Topography mode is a great place to earn credits and free experience, along with some large repair/med/fire consumables. All it takes is your time to grind through it. Much easier way to get some credits for a new player, more then a million credits are available if you do all the currently available maps. Just my views from an experienced player who has started a new account and seeing it from a fresh perspective again.
Played this game for at least 8 years already and not on a daily basis. Completely free. I still have the is7 only and nearing the 268. Credits is pretty hard to get. Still this game is fun to play and have no plans on stopping

As someone whose been mostly ftp since the beginning I agree....... Every aspect of the game is has been molded to be against the player if they don't spend money. One of the many reasons I finally stopped playing after almost a decade.
I'm grinding for the Tusk on WOTC, and for the last stage you need 780,00 experience. Calculate that I will need at least 390 missions if I can do 2000 average per mission. Luckily all bonus tank experience counts towards the experience total. Still a huge amount of game play! I don't use real money but unlike QB, I do fire some gold and use premium consumables because I can purchase them with in game credits. I even watched some of that 9.5hour QB session the other day, first time watching Twitch!! You did a great job QB even though you were shattered.

You almost get punished for it, it's fine up till tier 8 after that the ends never meet .
By the time that happens the game will be on its last broken leg 😂😂
Wargaming management literally has 0 fucking clue how excruciating they've made their "f2p" game "f2p"
At least make ammunition like in WoT Blitz, free except gold but standard is free
These vids are a nice insight into free players.
That said, never sacrifice family for pixels.
Pixels are always there, family aren't.
I love these videos where you just play and be yourself. Talking about the last few weeks with some tanks we need more of this!!!
Those feelings are exactly why I don't bother with any mission marathons anymore... I suffered through the first one and felt just like you did.
Luckily we have audio in the end even though the main microphone clearly died.
I managed to get the WZ-114 completely for free today, felt good.
same issue with centurion tier 9, need at least 100k of free exp to make tank useful
That aint hard to grind
type61 too :D
At the stock turret and speed isn't as bad as it used to be
@@sanctus3325 Type 61 has CRAZY dpm when stock. I still find it to be fun even when grinding
IMO I think the best way to grind the Cent 7 is:
1) Free exp the tracks (need tracks to even mount equipment)
2) 20-Pdr Type B
3) Engine
4) Turret (don't mount yet)
5) 105mm Gun (only mount turret when you get the top gun).
I did the grind by going for the 105mm first, and it broke me, I ended up spending gold to convert exp for the gun, and it was incredibly painful because of how slow the tank was, I think it'd be a lot less painful going for the engine first.
i stop playing WOT 2 years ago, but i still watch your vids..you still good at this! and i enjoy it..thanks
Same here, haven't played since 2021

QB: Well played to the T30 for loading gold and going through my tank.
Me: Yeah, right. Well played to WG for the built-in cheat-mode (works best if you pay regularly!-)
Me: bad play by QB for being in a position where the T30 can use normal free game mechanics to pen QB.
One of the reasons I like watching your stream and videos IS because you are a generally happy person. It makes the videos more fun, imho.
Wouldn't be a QB video without the mention of "Intuition" (19:48 mark). Rock on QB
If he wanted he could have all of this advantages.
man that's better than nothing stop complaining🤷♂️. He is the only one TH-camr that does play with dusadvantages
You have a point...
This was worth watching just for QB's hilarious German accent! 😂
Das ist nix gut, Willhelm Berghoff😂
don't feel like you have to do every mission grind, your life is more important than some tank in a game.
Well said.

It's his job, he better be good at it
He also doesn't use bonds for directives or the high dollar premium consumables on this account. He says it goes against being a free to play player, because most don't have them to spend.
Exactly! It's most likely just down to previous experience.

One idea how to soften stock grind:
Damaging higher tier tanks gets you more xp. Why not following this concept and give tanks with stock configuration a small xp bonus as well.
I have over 9000 matches and can't remember the last time I played more than 3 matches in a row. For me everything in the real world wins out over gaming. screw grinding. Live in the moment!
Now go even further with free to play, no boosters and events. Pure grind
but that’s kinda pointless because all players can access boosters and events anyway so it wouldn’t have purpose
The insight into marathons is exactly why I don't bother with them - whatever I accumulate during regular/casual play (a few hours here and there) is about it.
That moment when ur watching someone else play but when he dies u try to get back to the garage lol.

One of the issues in WoT is how damage is your source of income, dmg = Credits (Yes i know spotting gives some too but not enough) :P
You make way too little credits for the amount of damage you may be able to do, especially at high tiers..
Yes that may be true, But if you use all your advantages at your disposal, Premium acc+Credit booster+clan booster+ Premium Tank, you can earn up to 200k credits per battle which is insane, so if they rework it, they need to nerf premium earn and I think they won't do that
@@Linerunner99 my bro Who teached me how to play said u grind credits with prem t8 no else tier

And when I played it, I think it already had reload buffed.

war thunder (WT) seems more fun because of the variety of vehicles and weapons and combine arms that the gameplay provides but I'd argue that the grind to get the vehicle you want is more miserable than world of tanks (WOT). how WT works for tier advancement is based off a number of vehicles researched within a tier to advance to the next tier. so you would have to research self-propelled anti air, self-propelled artillery, light tanks, heavy tanks, tank destroyers, infantry fighting vehicles within a tier until the total amounts to 4 or 5 vehicles researched to unlock the next tier. what i like about WOT is how linear the progression is; if you want to unlock a tank destroyer, keep playing the tank destroyer class within the respective nation to progress through the research tree. the research tree will eventually fork so you may have to play a different class to get to the class you want, but it's usually 1 or 2 times that it forks off so you can keep playing the tank class you want which in turn matures you to be a better player in that class of tanks- it makes sense.
This is most of us, I appreciate you representing us and helping us through the struggle. ❤
Although many people do have an sort of a toxic opinions about QB, what he's doing with this account is definitely a good thing.
I love QB talking Germany. It sounds so funny when you actually speak German.
I just feel like 5+ crew skills and food, not even mention the bond equipment seems to help so much in this game and is extremely rare where you will get such good games as a free2 play guy, but at the same time you love to play such game as wot, but is somehow "unfair"

Aye, one thing that is true is the passage of time seems to be quicker as you age due to your perception. More time behind, less time ahead. It's apart of the human condition.
