Wow! I am from Thailand and in Thailand we have a lot of this tank but only one can still running . I never seen any Ha-go that can start their engine before. Hope Royal Thai army restore all of those tank so we can see a lot of running Ha-go.
This is a fantastic reproduction of a very cool tank. They served the purpose they were built for ably. They were never ment to go up against tanks like the m4 or t34 but could hold their own against the early Stewarts
The 37 wasnt bad for a light tank, Ha-Go could take on any Stuart. The issue was when we started to send Lees and Shermans; weighing 5 times as much as the Ha-Go, they were only vulnerable to side on ambushes at point blank range until the 47mm armed Ch-Has started appearing. Those could pen your average sherman at just about any angle out to around 800 yards (talking tank to tank. Japanese infantry came up with many ways to deal with armor)
Pretty sure this was a replica made for reenactment, a pretty good quality one at that tho. This year the tank museum actually had a real recently restored ha-go as a special guest, before it finally traveled back to japan.

But sadly the limited produccion numbers and subsecuent scrapping of them ensures that there's a very limited ammount of spare parts to work with, topping with the state of most of them that maked them unsuitable for recovery. As of late several private groups have been working in restoring, getting running and replicating many of them.
That's right. Could have been very comfortable to control but when it comes to uneven terrain it starts to spin around as the tank tilts because it is not very well balanced. But i really like it too.
I own a number of armoured vehicles, and always find it interesting at vehicle shows the amount of people who criticize my vehicle for having non original mirrors or some other non original part like an electronic fuel pump. My general response to them, is, 'is yours original'?

Part of it is true, but the some of the Chi ha tank was distroeyd by the M2 heavy machine gun. The gloves used to make Japanese tanks were poor, but they were good for countries like China that didn't have anti-tank weapons.
Is this a real Type 95 Ha Go? If so is it privately owned because on the wikipedia page it says that no Ha Go's remain in Japan. Also are there two Ha Go's in this video ?

歩兵だけの部隊が敵戦車に遭遇したらひとたまりもない状態。それが逆転したのは第四次中東戦争で携行式対戦車ミサイルでイスラエル戦車部隊に大損害を与えたとき。
日本陸軍の軽戦車ならこんな感じで全種類再現できそうだね。

この95式で戦い、勝ったというのはいわば無課金ユーザーが課金ユーザーに勝つのと同じ。皇軍万歳。
エンジンはオリジナルでなく現行のトラックか、バスのものを使っている感じですね。
互換部品を使っているとはいえ、当時の兵器が「ちゃんと動く」というだけでも、相当な価値があります。

日本が持っているので対戦車用として開発されたのはチヌ チト くらいですよ。それ以外の戦車のほとんどが歩兵戦車です。そもそも日本軍の戦略、戦術的に見て戦車で戦車を倒す必要がなかったのです。のちに戦局が変わりチヌやチトが作られたわけですが。

I`m surprised that an operable Type 95 light tank still exists today. Next time, I would like to see a restored Type 97 middle tank.
I think it is a replica. A really well made replica.
There are other real operational Ha-Go left, and you can find a lot of wrecks in the Pacific Islands

Looks more liek a replica if you ask me, plenty of details you can see on actual type 95's seem to be absend from this vehicle.
That's a Ford automobile engine from the 1960s inside.
My bet is it's an original that had a pretty lax restoration. (i.e. lots of unoriginal parts spliced in.)
Looks like a Ford 351 Windsor V8 or maybe a 302 V8. Even if it is not original, still pretty cool.

Japanese tanks are underrated, they were great infantry support tanks with their lightness
