I feel like in today's world, finding an old buried treasure would just be the beginning of an arduous years long legal battle to keep it. Ready to take on the government of Utah?

The state of Utah is way easier to work with than the federal Government. Obviously you’ve not spent hours yet reading the various laws and the fact that 65% of Utah is federal. Now if minerals or gold is found on state land you rent there’s laws you can follow to claim minerals. There’s treasure trove permits.
What’s bad is when the federal government double crosses you like they did to them treasure hunters in Pennsylvania. A few metal detecting persons reported to the state that they found something big underground and want a finders fee. The problem was for some reason the fbi spent all night there at the state park. They left early in the morning saying they found nothing.
Ya if you find something on federal public land you’re even worse off generally especially as huge non profits continue to shut down access to public land literally closing roads.
Ya the federal government might do a finders fee or something but if you found something on private land you own you could claim that.

@@koltoncrane3099 I remember that Pennsylvania dig. That was terrible. I bet there was a federal van or truck leaving that dig with the suspension riding suspiciously low.

Son of a gun! 🤠 loved it! I spent months looking for the forest fenn treasure in the area of flaming gorge. (Just south of green river) I might have left a small treasure there myself 😉 it's not much but some good ol boy might get a hoot out of it. I mean what's an ounce worth these days anyways 🤷

I've been on those mesas. I believe i know where it is. I found two places where a very small lake might be. One is better than the other. There is a photo from that location on my Facebook page.

His name is Robert not George. He is my relative. (Time 2:21) The gun found and any treasure found should be given to the Utah History Museum for everyone to enjoy anyway. Hmmm maybe this treasure has a curse on it just like others in Utah do.

why not focus on the 'rusted pistol area' with high dollar metal detectors in a radius of 1/10 mile...its really that simple
