I had always heard of Suzhou as a water town and all, so to see the modernity of this part of the city shows the changes from the times when you had first had visited. It's pretty impressive; almost like a rival to Shanghai (but I think I heard Vera say she that still prefers Shanghai to Suzhou). That heat seemed similar to Shanghai this last September; almost unbearable. And those massive crowds, everywhere. I could see on your faces that you both were just overwhelmed after a while, by the heat, but I think even more by the number of people everywhere, making not so easy at all to move from place to place. And the people crowding into the malls to avoid the heat: that was also Shanghai this last September. It was interesting to see actual Shanghainese; very used to crowds, stunned by such large numbers. Your zhajiangmian (one of my favorties) looked very good, and I liked how little Vera laughed when you said that she was REALLY enjoying her food!
Your experience of suzhou is different from mine. It was over 10 years ago since I've visited and city was dead. Now it's people mountain and people sea.
Suzhou is better because the subway trains are newer and cleaner . Suzhou have many Lakes Suzhou has fresh air . Suzhou has many celebrities and many movie studios
5:19 what a view
Wow, the crowds!
Been to this beautiful garden city at least four times and love it, but those days were much less tourists and no high rise buildings!
