I will probably get one of these devices. I have a Mac SE I bought for $25 25 years ago. I need to replace the battery first.

What about putting software onto the sd card? Do you know how that works?
There is a utility I see online I want to use on my Mac se. but does it have to be a disk image?
    Where would it go?
I’m assuming I’d put it into Macintosh/utilities on the sd card?
    Any help...

That’s a problem I also have too. I tried that a couple days ago and it just doesn’t seem to show up in the emu. Try contacting the creator.

Does it come pre-loaded with all the software that you have there?

Yup! Comes will all that software and you could add more but it doesn’t work too well.

Charlie Mastergeko4 I have a Macintosh SE with 2 800k drives, 4mb of ram, and I also have a modded internal 80MB hard drive. I was wondering if I could use this to transfer files from my modern computer to the Macintosh. I also have an Ethernet card. I was wondering if I could download the file MacWWW to it, but I’m not sure if it is a 1.44MB disk or an 800k. MacWWW is a web browser.

I’m not sure how to tell if the file is made for 800k or 1.44MB. I would guess it would say it somewhere on the website but I don’t have much experience with connecting old Macs to the internet. I had an Ethernet Card but I sold it for $79 on eBay so even if I wanted to help you, I’m not sure how I could.

Charlie Mastergeko4 okay, I understand. So when I’m looking to see if the file is 800k or 1.44MB, what exactly am I looking for ? The size of the file ? Because on the site it says that the file is 64KB, obviously less than 800k, but I still can’t be positive. I don’t want to buy a floppy emu then have no use for it if I can’t get it to transfer the file.

@@dylana9496 Hmm. I don't think the floppy emu is going to be worth it if that is all you are going to use it for. Do you have a Mac that can run mac os 9 that also has a USB port and a floppy drive? Sorta like an iMac G3 with a USB floppy drive? well I made a video about how to transfer software without the floppy emu here: th-cam.com/video/zh1ienJSHAg/w-d-xo.html . It works and I would try it if you have the time or equipment. Otherwise, I don't really have any other options to give you.

Mastergeko4 I bought a floppy emu and I need the Macintosh firmware?
I think I found it on bigmessowires.
      I’m planning on doing this:
Going to the library. Putting my micros sd card that came with the floppy emu into an sd card reader on my modern Mac. And dragging and dropping the firmware onto the card?
Do you think that would work?
My Mac se didn’t recognize my floppy emu and I was told I need the Macintosh firmware?
Do I leave it as a disk image?

I’m not an expert on the Floppy Emu but I would try it out anyway. If you need further assistance, I suggest contacting the creator of the Floppy Emu and I’m sure he can help. Best of luck!
