Have you decided on the B pillar shape yet? It would look really slick to mimic the C pillar curvature. That'll be another load of work but you're one of best fabricators this side of Barris. Great work 👍
I like how the project is coming along. Your sheet metal skills are quite stellar and impress me. You've helped and inspired me to try my own small mods and repairs. Perhaps one day I can try a similar project. (Requires bigger shop) I think what you've done with the car greatly improves it and you've probably increased its value and lifespan by the customization. I've seen a lot of classics go from the farm to the crusher, so keep doing what your doing. Very entertaining. 😊👍
Still absolutely loving this whole project......... (sort of intrigued to see how you will actually do filler......sometimes you need it) Happy new year guys, keep up the great work. Love as Always, Reading, England.
Matt, Amazing metal work on your Merc so far. Forget what all these arm chair "EXPERTS" are saying, from where I'm sitting/viewing, your work is amazing. Looking forward to the next video on this amazing transformation, I'm loving watching it!
This will tell you what you seek to know. I’m not a pod cast guy and don’t spend time on them but this is the only one I’ve ever watched. th-cam.com/video/VzQrR3Tk6j4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8ygv1VACinK7nggO
It would be particularly interesting if some of these internet "experts" would post pictures or videos of THEIR perfectly chopped 39 Mercs. Just sayin'....
Very nice work and craftsmanship. Guys still have to contend with rodents over the winter, no matter where their cars are stored. What are guys using/ doing to prevent this kind of damage?
I have to say that Matt is a skilled craftsman . But where did he learn these skills ? Is he self taught or did an apprentice ship somewhere . Yes I know he worked for Eastwood . Just curious ...
I believe he is self taught. But he has also worked along side Gene Winfield for a short time when he scheduled some seminars at Eastwood a few years back.
I think you’re doing a fantastic job on this old Merc. And for all those “armchair experts” who think they know it all, well, they just ruin it for us armchair experts that actually do know it all. 😂 GREAT JOB this build is fun to watch along.

Yes me too ,also those rear lights _ but I suppose they are cool in some way...
Gotta love it when Matt gets down in the gutter on a project.

Matt, I think that you are doing great in the work you do Pay no mind to the arm chair people lol
Even if the original roof was in perfect condition doing the chop was still absolutely the right choice.

Good Morning ITG!
You have transformed a stodgy old clunker into a very cool custom. You don’t have to apologize for” cutting up a classic”.
I'm impressed with your progress! Not an easy thing to do. It really does improve the looks of the car!
Morning guys, Steve do you have a hot rod. Blessings brothers.

I am glad that you have shown how bad the original roof actually was. It gives me an excuse to forgive you for chopping this classic.
O yeah Matt you improved the look of the car a one hundred and ten percent.
Arm chair mechanics and body men lol

Nice job 🍺🥃🍺🥃🍺🥃
You don’t need justification, it’s your car and it’s far more attractive than stock unlike many old customs.
Matt you are amazing what are you going to do about windows for the new shape?
