The character development stemming from the evident time passage is incredible. Bluenose is way less pompous Zorran’s growth as a tug and showing he’s not just a scheming slimeball Warrior’s maturity and an overall intelligence boost Zip being way more amicable towards Ten Cents Absolutely beautiful.
I listened to this with my grandpa and he loved it!!! =D Whenever we would watch tugs he would always hate watching Big Freeze because he always knows that it's the end of the show. Tugs have meant so much in his life that he made replicas of the star fleet and it's been his hobby since he retired from working in the navy, he's built almost the whole star fleet except for Hercules. Anyways I just wanted to say thank you so much for this. I watched this with him, and he said it was the closest thing to a Tugs episode! I thank you and your team for this, please keep up the amazing work!
This was truly a masterpiece All the edits are really good The characters, the story and voice acting is just amazing and i just love everything about this It feels like a lost episodes And is probably my Favorite fanmade tugs project I've seen Nice work
It took me a while to connect the dots, but it's a stellar job - showing the passage of time by how the characters changed. Zip openly fraternizing with Ten Cents and being more aware of his surroundings, whilst also getting out of Zug's thumb, Zorran showing conscience and being shaken up by the idea of deliberately blowing up a ship, Bluenose being more reserved, and Warrior being over-all more mature...
On a rewatch I finally could tell that both Zorain and Warrior have a history with the navy and liner rescue, and that this is most definitely Big Mack's first. It's odd to see Warrior be the sensible one of the 3 but oddly fitting here as he has the most empathy of them. Brilliant work, keep it up.
Coming back to this after a span of time is as glorious as ever. This story is absolutely Captivating and Powerful. It feels very akin to dynamics seen in how the Senior Members and Staff of any Royal Family are called together to help the family for them to see The Monarch on their Deathbed. "Princess Alice" , To the TUGS is very much like an Old Queen. And Hercules, Warrior, Big Mac ,and Zorran are the IMMEDIATE Royal pallbearers. I live in Atlantic Canada and Halifax Harbour has had its fair share of stories like this and real accurate shipwrecks That happened offshore . Seeing that Glorious Passenger Liner from TUGS be reduced to a Bombed Out , Amputated, Shell of itself, stirs immedate Feelings of immensely profound sadness. It brings to mind historically, what happened when Queen Victoria passed away in 1901. The German Kaiser, Wilhelm II, her Grandson , was at her bedside when she died... And both the Immedate Heir to the Throne, Edward VII and His son, the Then future king, George V, were there. Lots of similar feelings here. All the family from wide and far and even the ones who arent well liked by some in the family. Opposing family members having been to come together for something profoundly Big in their lives. Only this instance for this story, it Doesn't kick off of a World War fought between Grandsons of the former Queen. It results in a Major contract loss to both competitive companies And said loss is profound enough that it will have deep after effects outside of their own duties and beyond. The loss of a Liner like that, would definitely have made National and International News headlines and been ALL over the wireless once officially announced. Powerful visual of what happens when something suddenly happens and everything after is changed forever.
This, I really must say, catches the very spirit of what David Mitton and Bob Cardona had in mind when it came to TUGS. I really like how this links back to the events of Munitions in its undertones, such as with Bluenose being brief, clearly holding himself back from causing an argument. It only just occurred to me as I was editing this that Big Mac, Warrior and Zorran were at potential risk of being blown up or at least critically damaged if the slightest miscalculation occurred. I like also how it plays into Big Mac not being present for the dock fire in Munitions; must have dropped off when he returned to the Star Pier, and slept through the whole ordeal with everyone else being too preoccupied to wake him. He clearly only finds out how difficult it had really been on a mutual level for the tugs after facing a direct comparison. A cracking job! Regards, Samuel Farris.
A lot of things in this episode seem to point to some incident that happened at Lucky's Yard involving Zip, Zorran, Big Mac, and maybe Warrior. Nothing like that ever happens in the original show. Are you planning a future story to explain it?
WOW, that was utterly mesmerizing. This story was truly brilliant; you took the reverence and love the tugs have for these majestic ocean liners, and you turned it on its head. Putting them in a position where they're forced to mutilate one of those beautiful floating giants; it's like amputating the Queen's arm or something, it just makes you shudder, even though it has to be done. I love the nuance in every character's reactions, especially at the end, how taken aback Ten Cents and Zip are... This is an emotionally charged story, done VERY well. Zorran, Warrior, and Big Mac are such a great trio; I love how respectfully Warrior is written in this. He really isn't all that dumb, and when it comes to people and relationships, he's actually way more mature than Big Mac is. Zorran's disgust and shock at what's happening is perfect. I love the "Uhs" and "wha?"s as he processes the horror. And the presentation... My GOD! The voice acting is so spot on, some characters are literally indistinguishable from their OG voice actors; Warrior and Hercules are especially close. Big Mac and Captain Starr impress me; while not exact, they NAIL the cadence of the OGs, which is a very hard thing to do. I love the emotion Zorran's VA conveys as well, lots of nuance. The visuals are STUNNING, I LOVE the heavy editing and superimposition of real photographic skies, makes this feel so REAL. And every image is so high definition, I can tell it took ages to produce these super crisp visuals! The sound design was phenomenal, and the music matched the story perfectly; I love the mixture of traditional TUGS themes with fresh music that still blends perfectly and conveys the story 10 times better than an existing piece would. If I had to describe this in one word, it's IMMERSIVE. And that's the same one word I always describe the show itself with, so you're right on the money! Bravo, I LOVED this!!
“Y’know… I think you’re letting the past get the better of you Big Mac.” The fact that Warrior of all Tugs says it impresses me. It’s not the booming 20s anymore. This could be like the decline of ocean travel. Although, I believe near the end, the two dots that appear in the sky may be eyes, those of the Princess Alice’s. The way she’s crushed inward, completely wrecked around the bow… makes me feel like she was salvaged at the cost of her life. Backed up I think by the sounds of distant whistling, maybe just wind. But what are the two dots in the sky at the end? Are they those of the Princess Alice?
Even though characters like Alice, Vienna and duchess don't have face or can't talk (except Vienna I guess) it is imply that they have a soul or conscience inside of them meaning they are alive so seeing Alice blowing up is even more disturbing
This reminds me of the RMS Suevic. A Ship which under similar conditions. Struck Rock and had her bow cut off. Which is Nice. Made connection to a Ship which was built in the 1900.

An astounding fanfic audio production of TUGS. I've known about this episode's real life basis ever since I've read The White Star Line: An illustrated history (Yes, the exact same company that owned Titanic). The tugs, especially Big Mac felt guilty about blasting Princess Alice to save her. I remember how Zorran showed concern in Munitions, when Ten Cents risked his life to save Bluenose, nice job how you further explored it here, he's concerned with other things besides profit and pleasing Capt. Zero. I hope Princess Alice has a speedy recovery.
Just like a lost second series episode. You've outdone yourself here EN2! Tremendous job dude! I'm very glad to have helped out in this as well! A true milestone in the TUGS fandom! ❤️🔥
Absolutely blown away by this, man. the sound design in particular is what blew me away, I can picture everything that's happening with the show props and it feels so real now all we need is for Dorothy to be canon XDD
This.. is *AMAZING* I truly cannot stress how good this is, from the edits, to the voice acting, to the plot, ALL OF IT! It’s strange to see that Warrior was the smarter one here, but the Star v Zero rivalry was in there, and I think that’s what got Zorran worked up and Big Mac upset about. Zorran just wanted the job done, and he was a bit smarter from his main series counterpart. Something tells me it’s because they were blowing up what was considered to them as royalty, she was named Princess Alice after all. The shots during the explosion scene though, absolutely great! Seeing how The Adventures of Thomas was gonna be, the shots of the stacks looked straight out of a live action scene! This is great man. One of the best fan stories I’ve seen.
Gee, EN2. I don't know how to put it but this really feels like a TUGS story. With the great visual edits and music's choices, I felt like you did a fabulous job. Well done. 👏👍
Absolutely incredible!! The only question I have is did the Princess Alice die? In Regatta, she is shown and heard to speak and from Bigg Freeze, Vienna is shown as sentient using her horn. If the front was blown off, I assume that’s were the “sentience” came from. So were they carrying her corpse for lack of a better word to Lucky’s? So mesmerizing! Keep up the great work! Cant wait for more and I’d love to offer suggestions!
To me, Princess Alice is still alive, but weakened due to her bow being blown off. Warships such as the USS Pittsburgh are still able to operate even though their bow has been blown off. Let’s just say Princess Alice is still alive, but lost a “limb” in the operation.
This was incredible! Beautifully written story and excellent casting - Warrior and Big Mac in particular sound just like they sailed straight off the show. I really enjoy the characters behaviour around the situation - serious and reserved, then troubled and even slightly traumatised after the event - and the character development throughout, especially Zip's brief camaraderie with Ten Cents. It really feels like something that would have come in the later episodes of TUGS that we never got, and like the events would leave shadows in the episodes that followed it - if not some kind of follow-up episode. I do hope you do more, but if you do, you've set yourself a heck of a benchmark
Wow this was...just....AMAZING! Everybody has already sung it's praises in ways I only wish I could've earlier in my own post! But I will say that this fan project is exactly how I think Tugs season 2 should be done; by us! Working with the old tech, ancient texts, and absute faitfulness to the style and characters of this whole series. And what a stunning job here! You all were so cool in this. My next musing is this; why did Zorran seem so bothered by Princess Alice's "surgery", why did it seem so personal all of a sudden? He goes off about integrity, and by the end of it, he drives off for a hard drink implying that he got some baggage from this whole thing. Yet never anywhere in the series has he been shown to have a love interest? Give me a cup of that tea boi
Heh, it's more about how the liners are literally considered as royalty to the tugs - the original series' documents literally describes them as "Queens". The operation is basically a royal execution/funeral, and even a villain such as Zorran would have standards to not joke around in that situation. That's why he's so pissed about Big Mac still thinking of the petty star-vs-zero rivalry when the mood's otherwise sombre.
Cor blimey.... This was absolutely brilliant!! The tone, the writing, the voice cast and, last but not least, the explosions make it feel like a real Dave Mitton story. I heartily applaud you and your crew for this outstanding piece of art!!
Very epic tugs story. The dramatic music score, the striking visuals and editing, especially with the explosion scene, and the strong character moments, especially the animosity between big mac and Zorran, seeing another side to Zorran, conveyed by his views on the method of freeing the Princess Alice, and surprisingly Warrior not being his usual clumsy self for once and being more level headed instead. You really outdone yourself with this one. 10/10!
This is AWSOME! The event of the SS Suevic was a great choice on your part! And the voice acting was fantastic, everyone involved with this project should be very proud! 👍😁
I really love this. As I was watching the briefing scene I kept saying "It's more TUGS!" Really excitedly. But the one part I despise is Snatcher being at Lucky's Yard. Snatcher is meant to be a mysterious apparition in Ghosts. Just having him as a crane at Lucky's Yard destroys that. I didn't like his presence at all. But apart from that, this is an amazing production and makes me feel like "More TUGS" is an actual possibility.
Thank you for the feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I actually plucked that bit about Snatcher from the first draft of Sunshine, where it labels him as the crane at Lucky’s - OJ would’ve purely mistook him for Big Mickey in Ghosts due to his conscience being hazy.
First time I’ve seen this and my god it has me hoping that you continue to do more of these. That voice acting was brilliant and the story gave chills in a great way as it felt like a seamless story in the series.
4.5/5 stars for me! I feel some of the voice quality was a bit distracting, but the tone and illustrations were exceptional. Congrats to all involved. However, it feels like this could lead to a part two, or at least another audioplay with continuity to this one. I hope the Princess Alice will be all right, along with those wonderful tugs that helped her out of there. Wish I could give a boat a hug.
I fell down the tugs rabbit hole recently and god did this scratch the itch I was feeling for more tugs content. It's so good, feels so much like one of the darker episodes like Munitions or Pirate, and the pacing had me genuinely gripped waiting for the explosive to go off purely on the audio performances. Some of the acting feels like it was lifted from the show to boot, which really helped with the immersion- special s/o to the voice of Sunshine for getting the teeth whistle on the hard Ss
Absolutely brilliant! It's projects like this which make the Tugs fandom so special. If you ever did more of these, and needed more voice actors I'd love to get involved!
this is amazing! the voice acting is splendid - especially warrior, it sounds like they just got his original actor to do his lines - and the story is as heavy as a tugs story could be. it definitely adds more depth to how the tugs view liners with reverence and respect, almost like their own royalty. to have to blow off half of one has to be extremely difficult, even if it is for the best like with the princess alice. it’s much like having to amputate a limb - you know it’s ultimately for the greater good, but it’s still incredibly hard to do. applause all around, really hope to see more of these in the future!
i love the story and the production is amazing, it makes me wish people would start making tugs replicas so tugs can have its own project tiger-moth. my only gripe is a small one which is that warrior sounds too intelligent.
Warrior has more depth to him than on the surface - he's a little oblivious at times but he's not stupid. His official bio states "He tackles the jobs the others shun. His clumsiness is only the result of pure enthusiasm to complete the job and please Captain Star." There's also hints in the preproduction material that he might've been part of the navy, which was alluded to here.
This was a fantastic listen and I can really see the effort you’ve all put into this. A massive thanks for providing the fandom with some much-needed content! As someone who’s been writing a possible sequel/continuation of TUGS for about a year now, this masterpiece has really inspired me to perhaps use my scripts to make an audioplay of my own in a similar vain. Some food for thought at least, so thank you!
Was there a timeskip? Warrior is smarter, Zip is more confident, Hercules is more upset, Bluenose is to the point instead of bragging belittling the tugs, and Zorran is less whiny and snarky.
Yup, this is set midway in a theoretical season 2 - the differences in character were intentional, to get people inspired to explore what events might've lead to them developing like that - plus the execution of a royal liner would tend to put them in a different disposition. I'm glad someone picked up on it!
Wow this was really well done. The voice acting, photoshops, music and sound effects was just excellent 👍 Can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us
Ocean Liners are revered as "the queens of the sea" by the harbour tugs, according to the show's documentation. Having to help essentially amputate a royal isn't an emotionally easy task, and Zorran knows when to put differences aside and take a shared job seriously, as demonstrated in Munitions - but Big Mac still can't let go of the Stars-vs-Z's rivalry long enough to treat the job with the same respect Zorran does. The story is essentially about Big Mac getting a rather sobering lesson about the effect his words have on others even when he doesn't intend it, and that what he thinks is just normal teasing can be thoroughly inappropriate if he isn't reading the room.
meanwhile, I've got this playing in the background while I'm working on a 3D model and my initial reaction to the foghorn at the beginning was toy say "great they're calling in a raid"
I meant her whistle not the design. As for the design, that now you've mentioned it, it reminds me a lot of Caronia (a two funnel ocean liner from the mid-1900s) as the Lusitania was never a two stacker. Her (Princess Alice's) bridge which is flush with the bridge wings is a dead giveaway.
I can agree with that. But I'm gonna be honest, with what type of whistle the Princess Alice/Vienna/Duchess/Roxstar model had it's unknown what was it. I could think of John W. Brown's 3-bell multi tone (chime) as it's mostly present on other ships like Olympic Class, Cunard trio, etc.
The character development stemming from the evident time passage is incredible.
Bluenose is way less pompous
Zorran’s growth as a tug and showing he’s not just a scheming slimeball
Warrior’s maturity and an overall intelligence boost
Zip being way more amicable towards Ten Cents
Absolutely beautiful.

I remember how Zorran showed concern in Munitions, when Ten Cents risked his life to save Bluenose, nice job how you further explored it here, he's concerned with other things besides profit and pleasing Capt. Zero. I hope Princess Alice has a speedy recovery.
Phenomenal work. It really felt right out of the show. Well done to all the actors as well!
I do hope The Unlucky Tug has seen this! It’s fantastic work! I really hope you do more!!
This.. is *AMAZING*
I truly cannot stress how good this is, from the edits, to the voice acting, to the plot, ALL OF IT!
This is an absolute masterpiece! If this was a full feature length fill, it would probably win film awards.
This was great! It’s a shame that there aren’t many TUGS stories like this. The voice cast was really good and the edits looked amazing! Great work! 👍
The voices for the tugs and the megaphone voice of Captain Star are SPOT ON!!
Massive kudos to all involved, especially the voice actors of Big Mac and Warrior. They're absolutely on point.
This could be one of those creations that’s the closest we get to a season 2 episode…🤔 just brilliant!
@@Birdhatter Exactly!
Loved it, can't believe bluenose survived being scuttled for starting the explosion that killed krakatoa
I just started to watch this again. And the first few seconds are amazing. Truly a great fan made episode
Cor blimey.... This was absolutely brilliant!!
The tone, the writing, the voice cast and, last but not least, the explosions make it feel like a real Dave Mitton story. I heartily applaud you and your crew for this outstanding piece of art!!
That was brilliant, you've done a fantastic job, man!
A very enjoyable story. There aren't many original Tugs stories out there and it's nice to see people having a crack at them.
I GOT CHILLS MAN!!!! CHILLS!
@@EN2YT Wow, I guess that kills the idea of it being Big Mickey's ghost then. Thanks for telling me about that.
@@EN2YTwhat was the song that played at 18:22?
This is THE most high quality visual audio story I have ever seen. LIKE HOLY FUCK MAN.
Inspiring. Lovely work. I love how what Zorran says at the end gives you something to think about
First time I’ve seen this and my god it has me hoping that you continue to do more of these. That voice acting was brilliant and the story gave chills in a great way as it felt like a seamless story in the series.
Can someone please tell me the name of the song that plays at 1:26? it's gorgeous.
22:49 Tugs, So Deserves a reboot.
with this as season 2 episode 1
The Princess Alice's story reminds me of the RMS Suevic
4.5/5 stars for me! I feel some of the voice quality was a bit distracting, but the tone and illustrations were exceptional. Congrats to all involved.
However, it feels like this could lead to a part two, or at least another audioplay with continuity to this one. I hope the Princess Alice will be all right, along with those wonderful tugs that helped her out of there. Wish I could give a boat a hug.
To be fair, this is probably the best voice work I've seen from a TUGS fan production, so I'd give it 5 stars.
Yeah, I hope there will be some continuity after this as well. Or perhaps before the episode.
Impressive work!
Yes this is the sort of thing I've been searching for.
this is beautiful i also love the use of the back to the future theme in the beginning
do you know the song name perchance?
edit: it's exactly what it says it is in the description :p
Absolutely brilliant! It's projects like this which make the Tugs fandom so special.
If you ever did more of these, and needed more voice actors I'd love to get involved!
one of the best Tugs fan content on TH-cam
this is amazing! the voice acting is splendid - especially warrior, it sounds like they just got his original actor to do his lines - and the story is as heavy as a tugs story could be. it definitely adds more depth to how the tugs view liners with reverence and respect, almost like their own royalty. to have to blow off half of one has to be extremely difficult, even if it is for the best like with the princess alice. it’s much like having to amputate a limb - you know it’s ultimately for the greater good, but it’s still incredibly hard to do. applause all around, really hope to see more of these in the future!
Bravo! Stellar work you guys! That was absolutely fantastic!
The audio is fantastic! The character voices sound just like the ones in the show! Very Well Done!⚓️
i love the story and the production is amazing, it makes me wish people would start making tugs replicas so tugs can have its own project tiger-moth. my only gripe is a small one which is that warrior sounds too intelligent.
This will be great i know youre tugs icebergh and its a masterpiece
You're means You Are, so it doesnt fit with every sentence like this
If a word like they're, and you're are said, the 're stands for are
This sounds incredible! I give it an A+
Bring back the good old days almost like this video almost make me miss tugs as a whole great job of making this video it’s perfect
This is phenomenal!! Really hit the feel of the characters and story telling! :D
A great reference to the surgery of the suvic! Very niceley done!
Zorran's VA wasn't as "devious" but it fit considering the sobering conclusion.
this was an amazing story, I'm really exited to see more!
Man, I'd love to see more audio dramas after this.
Zorran showing some humanity
Really feels more mature, promising for what Tugs fan content may be coming
Was there a timeskip? Warrior is smarter, Zip is more confident, Hercules is more upset, Bluenose is to the point instead of bragging belittling the tugs, and Zorran is less whiny and snarky.
Yup, this is set midway in a theoretical season 2 - the differences in character were intentional, to get people inspired to explore what events might've lead to them developing like that - plus the execution of a royal liner would tend to put them in a different disposition. I'm glad someone picked up on it!
No word of a lie, I thought Davy Jones was voiced by me and during the premier I was like "I don't remember recording those lines" XD
Anyone else feels like this is like a lost Tugs episode?
Your TH-cam Channel came out on my birthday
I love how you added Seuvic to this
Wow this was really well done. The voice acting, photoshops, music and sound effects was just excellent 👍 Can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us
A..mazing 👌🏻 i need more
This has left me shocked in amazement. This was truly spectacular and well thought out, I hope we see more in the futures.
😮😮Omg the animation is fantastic
This was fantastic the story the writing the editing it was all fantastic
Impressive. Couldn't quite tell the story, but wow, that it was emotional, at the end.
0:13 that whistle sounds like RMS maratania or aquitania
same for here 17:54
I wast wrong this was fantastic keep up the good work.
Dang, this was epic! Wish there was more stuff like this.
meanwhile, I've got this playing in the background while I'm working on a 3D model and my initial reaction to the foghorn at the beginning was toy say "great they're calling in a raid"
Amazing stuff, good use of those restored stills
The voice acting, OMG.
Amazing work mate you captured the feel of tugs will you be doing any more? Perhaps continue withe restructuring of the princesses allice?
17:53 I take it that's olympic's whistle you used there, right?
It's more of Mauretania's or Lusitania's. The following ones were from A Night to Remember film from 1958.
@@Milos15GameplaysYT I guess she does look more like a twin-stacked Lusitania.
@@Milos15GameplaysYT Yeah I know, I was saying how using a whistle from Lusitana suits the design better.
Subbed would love to see more of these!
This was very touching. One question, though, is the Princess Alice........."dead"?
Edit: Then again, she's still the same ship.
I cannot wait for more tugs storys
As A Fan Of White Star & Cunard History, I Can Safely Say This Is An Amazing Adaptaion Of The Incident
