I've got one of these in my Zoom ISO video streaming rack - great to have a capable hardware dante solution that's half the price of most other boxes here.
If you don't need the analog ports, go for the RME DigiFace Dante + WAVEs SuperRack Performer. The DigiFace Dante also can do MADI, it's 64x64 MADI and 64x64 Dante. Plus it can act as a 4port network switch (when not using the redundancy) and has a bridge mode allowing Dante Controller to operate on it, even though it is an audio device for the OS. And it costs less. Drawbacks? Well yes, it doesn't bringt the Yamaha REV-X reverb as a VST with it, which is really what I'd like to have.
I’m trying to figure that out as well maybe just analog I/O? Not much of that either though. 2 channel focusrite is a lot cheaper! Maybe the secondary dante network thing?
There is no end to ads and sales on TH-cam, every day less useful data, creative ideas... No, I don't need a Dante toy for toddlers with only 16 channels of I/O, if you add a $1300 price tag to that... no thanks. But if they were offering for about 1/3 of that money, i.e. for $400-450 for a bridge, matrix, USB3 with MINIMUM 64 I/O... Then it's worth thinking about, by the way, did I say that I hate Dante in any shape and form because of their TOO HIGH prices? Those greedy companies must be taken off the clouds or we going back ANALOG
I would line a 64 channel version.

This is a great video and thanks for sharing.

Why shouldn’t I use just an Ethernet cable and Dante Virtual soundcard?

The Latency of DVS is prohibitive for using VST plugs.
@@elimgerman Ok. But for that I can use the USB of my DM7.
Suprb 🎼🎵🎶🎸🎹
what is the round trip latency? is it less then just using dante virtual sound card?
~9:50 - 5ms w/o fx
I have a qu24 can i use it with that ?😅
Not really. Qu-24 does not feature or support Dante.
Wish they had a 32 channel version of this.......

This device is limited to one per dante network 😂 that rather limits its use cases
