Sarah Strong is a superstar in the making as a freshman! She's big time, and already one of the best players in country! Will be first team All American next year!
Game was fun to watch. Was surprised Geno didn’t call a timeout. Also surprised Geno didn’t have Paige take the shot. Strong had awesome game. UConn didn’t play well enough to win. Pretty simple.
I didn’t see the Juju special whistle, but yes she was amazing. If she goes on like this, then she could actually break Clark’s scoring record. Sarah Strong still probably the only thing keeping Geno from retiring 😭
Women's college basketball is in good shape knowing we still have 2-1/2 more years of players like Juju Watkins, Hannah Hidalgo, Tessa Johnson, MiLaysia Fulwilley and 3-1/2 more years of players like Sarah Strong leading a talented freshmen class.
Sarah Strong is a great player. I’m not a UConn fan but I’m excited to see her future. That is the complaint about Juju. She is getting favorable calls by the refs.
To be fair, even CC would have been really challenged to make all three FTs with the pressure of the game on the line with seconds to go. That is a monumental ask of anyone. We are all human after all. I really enjoyed that game! In the first three quarters I was excited to see USC play so hard, so well with UConn throwing everything they had to try and gain control of the game. I was so impressed with UConn never giving up, fighting just as hard as USC but coming up a bit short until the end of the third. Then to see UConn finally figure out a successful strategy and turn the tables to where it was USC struggling to keep hold of their shrinking lead. The tension and desperate battle of both teams was palatable in the final minutes. Ju Ju was so impressive, so in control the first half. Paige was very reactionary in the first half, but really seemed to reach deep inside in the final quarter and really lead the battle for UConn. I would watch this game again, easy. It was a very intense, hard fought battle by both teams.
IT JUST SHOWS JUJU AND PAIGE ARE NOT GENERATIONAL , TWO GOOD BASKETBALL PLAYERS , NOT GREAT , THATS THE DIFFERENCE, JUJU HAS A WAYS TO GO YET, PAIGE DOESNT SEEM TO ANXIOUS TO ENTER THE WNBA , IF SHE GIES TO A BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE TEAM,SHE’LL STRUGGLE, YOU NEED TO BE SPECIAL TO SHINE , THATS CLARK ,ONE OFF
25 points from 16 shots with 5 assists in a game against UConn is a medium Caitlin Clark-type performance, so credit to Juju. And her scoring through contact is raising her entertainment value.
I thought KK Arnold's defense in the 2nd half is what sparked UConn. The difference between Paige and JuJU is size and strength. JuJu is bigger, stronger, and it seemed quicker.
Maybe now Caitlin can get a little relief from the media after Paige lost to Juju yesterday. I wonder how they feel being in Caitlin's shoes after all this time. Evidently they were the only two players on the court yesterday. They are now ripping Paige apart for losing by 2 points. I don't know what is the matter with the media other than they make money on the backs of these ladies. Hannah just scored 33 points in a 40 point blowout today against a non-ranked team, so now she is the best ever. I really feel for these young ladies. However Paige staying at UConn for Geno might be the worst mistake ever made. She is 23 years old now compared to a 19 year old in Juju. Caitlin, still at 22, is younger than Paige and has already been Rookie of the Year in the WNBA. There is no comparison to Caitlin Clark.
Bingo. Paige wants to go to LA and LA had the 2nd pick in the last draft. But Paige wanted to be the number one pick, not number two. Well she gambled and loss. She's number one now, but going to the sink hole of Dallas. It feels like an episode of the Twilight Zone.
I hear people say that Paige Beckers wants to go to a stacked team unlike what Caitlin Clark did. Paige wants to go to LA, whose team was trash last year. CC joined a team just like the Aces, who had three straight #1 overall picks. People who know basketball realize CC has joined the team that is stacked. Indiana should produce 2-3 championships just like the Aces did after they received their three #1 picks. I know Indiana had two #1 picks and a #2 pick, but to me that’s just as good as the Aces’s three #1 picks.
The first time you've been impressed with JuJu??😅😅 The woman is the main reason USC WBB is relevant. Go watch the tape when she dropped 51 points against Cameron Brink and KiKi Iriafen as a freshman! JuJu will get better and better as a 6'2" guard with improved playmaking, reduction in turnovers, and increased shooting efficiency when she learns to establish her best shooting spots on the floor.
But Caitlin never won a championship at any level in her basketball career. And Diana Taurasi is the best college player in history with 3 championships and most of the records Caitlin broke belonged to Diana. Rather than giving the current college players their flowers, people like you have the diss thing with the "they not like her" bullshit...even though her ain't never won sht.
@@Criminal.Lawyer.2024 Actually Clark has won 3 gold medals as a Junior national team player. Would have won a senior gold as well if not playing in the final 4 in that year that coincided with the nationals. Basketball is a team sport and lets be real in the fact that Clark played on a subpar team. To define greatness is not just by winning championships alone it's how far an athlete can take the team they have as far as they can go. Not all teams have the recruting power of lets say UCONN, SC, etc.
The USC / UCONN was a great game, I know the CC fans will try to diminish anything that’s not CC, and they look foolish doing it towards this game. The comparison of JuJu and Paige in this game reminds me of the 2024 WNBA AllStar game. Angel Reese was more impactful in the AllStar game compared to Caitlin Clark, and Juju Watkins was more impactful in the USC-UCONN game compared to Paige Beckers. Comparing players because of one game is silly, also comparing them in one season is silly. Let’s just wait until the end of their careers to do the comparisons. Stop the hate and let’s give every one of these girls their flowers!
Geno and his system ruined Paige. She coulda had class. She coulda been a contender. She I could’ve been somebody, instead of a bum, with a one way ticket to palookaville.
They only dislike players that people say are better than Clark. All it takes is for someone in the media to say that Hidalgo is better than Clark and he'll say she's not that good 😂😂
@@AntwoineBaker right I already know I’m not going to say juju is better then Clark rn but she has the potential to be better then her if she just stays focus on getting better every year and when that happens everyone will be singing a different tune
@@TheRobinLundberg Because she drives to the basket with speed and strength, she earns those whistles. Last night, she earned more than she was awarded. The discrepancy btrween free throws awarded to UCONN vs. SC was glaring. Dissapointing, but considering where the game was played, not surprising. Further, if that's the best you have seen Ju Ju play, you obviously didn't see many of her games last year. Overall, not impressed with your analysis.

Great commentary, the game lived up to expectations.
I watched the whole game, and it was a stellar showing from both teams. Fast paced and fun to watch!
Is it any surprise that Juju gets the A'ja whistle already.
Juju definitely showed why people were hyping her up before the season ! Nice seeing Paige ball in the 2nd half too
