As we're talking Beatles and upcoming shows... Now that you're officially booked for Montréal (Sept, 6)... May I suggest Michelle? A couple french lines is always a winner around here. 😉
Excellent Beatles cover Mike. I love this song and have been a fan of yours for a while. I just posted my version of this classic song today...keep up the great work! Steve
Effortless! Time after time you deliver beautiful music, thanks Mike. Would love to be coming to Liverpool to hear the likes of this one played in the place it all started. I am however coming to the London gig. Can’t wait. I’d love to hear you and a friend do a proclaimers song like ‘500 miles’ or ‘letter from America’. May be one for the future 😁 See you in a couple of weeks.
I follow you since you played Space Oddity by David Bowie! You’re fantastic with your performances! Thanks for share with us your talent guy! Congrats! Hello from Brazil! Sorry to my terrible english!
I love these premieres, Mike. It's like we are a part of the music....in a very small way, lol. BTW, I have found your next cover (never heard that before huh?). I was listening to Imaginary Lover by Atlanta Rhythm Section the other day and the first thing that came to mind was how great you would sound doing that song. I think your arrangement style would fit perfectly. Something to think about. :)
Cheers Mike, cheers to all The Beatles fans. I like your cover, a bit mellower than that aggressive approach 25 y/o John Lennon was famous for. You enjoyed it, I had fun too. Thank you!
Just thought for a minute that you were playing the flute on this as well (thought to myself 'is there no end to Mike's talent') then realised not you !!
Maybe think of it as a really fast waltz. It also sort of depends on the emphasis and grouping, and can even be a little subjective, arguably. A waltz would have a big emphasis on 1 every time, so it's "ONE two three, ONE two three", with a slower feel. 6/8 is more in pairs, so "ONE two three FOUR five six". And if you do it in groups of four, you get 12/8, which is more like the feel of "Oh! Darling." That's one of my favorite songs in 12/8, and not just because it's the only one I can think of. ;)

One of the best covers! Edit: one not, definitely the best!
Mike,
Great performance. You even captured all of the vocal nuances.
Rick
Incrível Mike...show demais...tão bom quanto os originais!
Great
Mike, you impress me more and more every day. What a cool thrill to have known you when you were a mere public defender....
Muito bom!!! 🇧🇷
Nice, very nice !!!! Thank you, Mike!!!! Said Hi! to Noah!

John Lennon sang this song, which I miss. Congratulations on your beautiful performance, Mike Massé!
FANTASTIC ... ! 👌
When do you come to AUSTRIA ?! 😃
🎸🖑🎸
Keep believing. He just sign for a show in Montréal! 🙂
I am of the opinion that Beatles songs shouldn't be covered but this was really good. Thanks Mike.
I played this song at Glastonbury England many moons ago 👍
One of my favorite Lennon's song! Thank you! Hello from Russia!
I love how this is cut with the overdubs being windowed.
Brilliant. Could you please make a cover of "Open your eyes" by Alterbridge
Fantastic shirt
Good golly, Miss Molly, you are so good.
Hey mike will you be gigging on your own or with others for the Irish gig... thanks 👍
I’m actually not sure. It may be solo, it may be with Bryce Bloom
This almost sounded Celtic. I'd love to hear you do somthing by the Irish rovers because I know it would be beautiful and amazing.
Absolutely fantastic Mike! One of my favorite Beatles song! Curious question. Why didn't you play this on your 12-string?
I played the 12-string parts on my 12-string. Heh. I think the blend of six and 12 is nice.
Mike Massé you certainly did a great job on the song!
👏👏
Essa música é linda em qualquer versão, com quaquer artista, mas nada se compara a versão original, The Mister John Lennon 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just thought for a minute that you were playing the flute on this as well (thought to myself 'is there no end to Mike's talent') then realised not you !!
** No MIke was not playing the flute- but there is still no real end to his talent. A true Beatles classic- by a true youtube legend. Great!! **
Great, as per usual :D
Would you say that this 6/8 time is a kind of a waltz rhythm? I am really ignorant in music theory LOL
@@mikemasse Yeah, and "Oh! Darling" is also listed in Wikipedia as "Swamp pop", and I had never heard of such a genre before. Haha...
Could you pls do a Starman - David Bowie cover? Its not only your voice but the way you sing the song there is so much passion in it, love it
We've done that one live. Such a great song! Mike does a really great job with that one.
ERMAGERHD! Awesome :)
