I love this. Thank you. I once made a similar garment when I was pregnant in 1976 before women went swimming whilst 'with child'! I attached a sort of smock/skirt to the bra and made the pants to match. It was very comfortable and everyone wanted to know where I'd bought it! XXX

Если бюстгальтер " тесный" значит он не по размеру. Большую тяжёлую грудь таким изделием не удержишь, а маленький размер в поддержке не нуждается.
I agree with you on all but one. Even smaller breasts need support.

What measurements were they showing? There were none as to properly size the bra. Measurements for an A/B cup wont work for a C/D or higher. You need the measurement math on how they got the "40" in order to make that bra fit you, or I, or anyone else making it fit properly. WE NEED THE MATH AND LINES TO MEASURE!!!
@@TaleHandmade What math? What measurements? How did you get the "40" measurements? Underbreast/over nip/ to fullness? Breast from apex? Breast circumference? Breast half circumference? Bust- underbust?....what did you use!!

What kind have you wearing? A good bra should be very comfortable.
Playtex 18 hour bra is for larger sizes. It has a wide back strap, under arms and wider shoulder straps. There are SO MANY different bras out there it's far from, "I can't find the right one." Especially for larger women. This thing offers no support and I can see this being uncomfortable 😂

Interesting idea and it is fine for the tinker bell sizes. It wouldn’t be enough support for women with larger breasts.

Very pretty, but only useful for members of the 'ittie bittie tittie commitee'. If you're endowed with the sort of knockers that have their own post code, you could give yourself two black eyes just running up the stairs in one of these....lol.
На большую и тяжелую грудь это не вариант.Максимум 1-2 разм. Вот бы порекомендовали фасон для пышных дам. Это проблема.
Она сделала как раз большого размера, только никакой поддержки от такого белья не будет.

Это было в Работнице или Крестьянке,лет 30 назад, вместе с комбинацией.Я сохранила,но в носке это белье неудобно, разве что для девочек на пляж.
Полностью согласна, это для пляжа - да, пойдет. Но в повседневной носке.... Нет, не хотела бы себе такое.

What prevents the elastic from folding in half or twisting in the wash? Did you use a woven fabric here, or some kind of knit? You have made it look so simple, but I know it isn’t quite that easy. ;)
A trick I learned from my mom: Once the elastic is in place inside any casing I even it out with my fingers and sew a straight vertical line through all layers. On outer garments it helps to have matching thread and I stitch in the ditch in the side and center back seams often. I do this always on elastic waistbands to prevent curling, as well.
I wouldalso like to know what the fabric is.
@@thebanjolady seems like a simple cotton fabric.
Modern sewing elastics dont old in half. you can do the trick mentioned below to prevent twisting. they used to sell specificaly labeled waistband elast and bathing suit elasti more study than this. If me Id gage the measurements to only have elastic under bust section to not have wrinkles in back. but to me its just like the bathingsuit tops we made as young thin girls in the 70s. Id make it out of a super stretch like bathing suit material. they also sell mesh that hold you up for bathing suits. I dont put my body in public at age 67 but things do exist to solve problems. I do want to make a better sports bra. which is what I wear now.

1. I would make the bottom a little wider.
2. I would try it on and get those straps at your desired length. Those don't look adjustable.
3. Would actually be a cute swimsuit top.

Going to try this. I'm in need of at least one bra that has no medal. Had and won against lung cancer but see people relapse in a couple years and if I'm so unlucky medal free bras are a major plus. Meanwhile I have pet scans to go through yet so ........ Thank you for guiding this old woman through this.

Я вот в этом оооочень сомневаюсь. Пошив нижнего белья очень муторное дело. Я как-то пыталась сшить себе бюстгальтер, но в итоге ничего не вышло.

Very nice job but I don't see who it would work for. Maybe as a sunning top for younger girls but not a bra. If this fits snugly then I'm for it. It's too flimsy to be form fitting.

What kind of sewing machine are you using. And attachments please. I have 3. 2 of them are very old and 1 treadle machine. And 2 others that are very old I'm trying to determine exactly what I have and then determine what I need for today's fabrics

I think its cute. Its brazire , you normally find in the lounge wear, they not meant for high impact support, just comfort. I like them because something i can wear to sleep without sagging, but comfortable enough to sleep.

I miss sewing. Through the years, it has become all but impossible to sew. Blind in one eye and nearly blind in the other prevents me from threading needles, even with needle threaders. Maybe someday, I will find some visual aids that can help me sew again before I leave for home.

I would call that more of a halter top than a bra . Would it give any support to 40 dd size. It is really cute and would be fun to make.
Судя по бретелям - размер маленький. Для небольшой груди - хорошо. Я шью для себя только из бязи, чтоб хорошо держало грудь. Очень не люблю, когда грудь "висит".
вот! Ключевое слово "небольшой". Не думаю, что подобное сооружение будет поддерживать грудь седьмого или большего размера

What type and make of sewing machine you recommend I need to purchase one,I am not a beginner in sewing but the new technology machines might be a challenge for me nevertheless i must learn how to.
Singer heavy duty machine is good. No computer chips, so it’s easier to upkeep.

A swimsuit pattern works the same and is set for your size. Back in the day I used to use a two piece top pattern and make halter tops.

Unfortunately a bra like that would never be able to hold up my girls. I'm going to have to DIY my boobs before DIYing a bra... but... I've redesigned a bra to make it more supportive for heavily cupped women (or men!). Something more comfortable than a wire bra but with better, more evenly dispersed weight across the front and back to support without too much strain on the shoulders. I'll share it once I finished drawing up the plans and patenting it.

It does tell you. Watch again, it clearly tells you how to make it larger or smaller.
@@JulieWallis1963 where does it say to make larger or smaller? They DO NOT give anything as far as what math equation or what lines were used in that said equation to make this bra. In bra making you have MANY breast measurements:
full breast(under breast over the nip(apex) up to top of breast,
Half breast- lower(under breast to apex), circumference, half circumference,
Half breast-upper (Apex to top of the breast),
cup measurement(full bust - underbust),
full bust ( circumference of chest over apex),
underbust ( measurement under the bust).....
Said measurement is critical in knowing what line you are getting said measurement from and what math is used to get the final results.
How to make the assembly is clear, but the lack of measurements/math make it rather useless to size up or down for anyone else.
