I'll go ahead and say it, as much as I love Rob Warner, these two commentators are actually even more exciting! The way Bart and Ric play off each other is absolutely electric! Now everybody feel free to come after me with pitchforks! Keep up the great work on this awesome coverage!
I struggle to visualise the level of mitochondrial activity in the quadriceps of these athletes. Astonishing in every respect. Bravo Fellas, Bravo and Chapeau.
Brilliant win for Tom that last climb when he put the power down wow sensational.Big shout out to the main man NINO brilliant podium!!Awesome racing all weekend and great coverage thank you guys!
I beg to differ. Schurter is a machine, methodical, predictable, consistent. Pidcock, whether on the road, cx or mtb is an unpredictable, all-or-nothing risk taker who rides like his saddle is on fire because he knows 9/10 times his superb skills and natural ability will get him to the finish line. More magician than laborer!
GCN: Your production of the events has been good BUT YOU HAVE CHANGED ONE THING THAT WAS GREAT BEFORE: Red Bull put the men and women on the same video, which I really liked because it gave equal balance to both. It really got me into womens’ as well in a way I don’t see any other sport doing. I wish you’d do the same and continue to promote both mens’ and womens’ cycling as elite, exciting sports.
No - my memory is last years highlights were so short they were rubbish - as for balance - both mens and womens races are covered equally well - your comment is baffling
Also… Josh Dubau, the guy who comes in second, the guy IN FRONT OF 10-time xc champ Nino Schurter is on a ROCKRIDER! He’s riding the new 2023 prototype, but the 2022 version is currently 2,199€ at Decathlon. Nino’s Spark- 15,000€. Big win for budget conscious weekend warriors all over the world. (How is this not part of the commentary? This is bike podcast gold.)
Enjoyed the coverage, but there is always room for improvements. It missed covering more top riders. I think a summary shouldnt be about the top 3, but about as many riders as possible.
The organizers of the broadcast made beautiful graphics, added new interesting details: the current speed, pulse. However, there are also problems. Moreover, a CATASTROPHIC ERROR was made in the time splits panel. Previously, the data was gradually updated live. Now they appear with a delay and immediately display all the leading riders (usually the top 10). Information in this form is much more difficult to perceive. It has become much more difficult and much less convenient to follow the gaps, the dynamics of the race. This error must be corrected. Necessarily. The second problem is animation. In two cases, it is too intrusive, it irritates and distracts from viewing: 1) when presenting the rider (especially when the panel disappears); 2) when showing the gap between groups. The third problem is that the lap time is not displayed. It is impossible to understand how much the pace changes in the race. The fourth problem is the "Race map" panel. It is useless, it only takes up space on the screen in vain. There used to be a comparison panel for two riders. It displayed the profile of the track (relief) and showed on which sections one rider wins from another, and on which he loses. The replacement is completely unequal: a useful panel has been removed and a useless one has been added.
I just like the way Piddock after crossing the final line took time to brandish that Pinarello’s latest XC bike as if to say “See, this bike got me the championship, so get one for yourself now.” even though I do say it is really about Piddock’s monstrosity that got him there.
Probably costs too much to get a full UHD outside broadcast unit for something like this, especially with the number of RF cameras involved (and that Eurosport only broadcasts in HD anyway).
Amazing event. Amazing weekend. The crowd was fantastic and the drone shots so good! The racing incredible. The commentator team however.... uuufffff! And Stigger won a fantastic race, so if you haven't seen it.. WTF! Spoilers no spoilers And when Pidcock raised his hand as he crossed the line.. if you haven't seen it.... WTF! Spoilers no spoilers Come on guys, please!!!!!
Love the new host she is hilarious, thank God it isnt someone from gmbn, no offense, but talk about overkill. Where was the commentary btw? It was great when it was happening and then awkward silence for an hour.
We were always going to leave it to the professionals 😅 We've not heard of anyone else sharing your issues on the commentary! It would be accessible on the settings
He said it himself, had a little bit too hard tires + you can't blame the bike itself for any mistake like he had - not on this top-level + ofc. sponsorship, etc.. Makes perfect sense why he did what he did. And he probably just likes his bikes no matter what.
We wouldn't say that was exactly domination, but he's also unsure of his schedule as to if he's racing all of them, so worth seeing how the season progresses!
Nino Nino Nino Nino Nino Nino Nino Nino Nino Nino! If Mathias Flückiger didn't slip on the rocky mountain in the 3rd lap (if I remember well) just in front of Nino, Schurter wouldn't have had to put the feet on the ground and run up the hill, and so, they both would've stay in contact with the guys in from of them, and the scenario would've been totally different. Maybe Tom would've won anyway, but maybe only, cause Nino was in great shape too, and the fact to b in front would've helped him b faster than he was in the last laps. Of course, it's part of the sport, sport can b cruel, but it's the 2nd year in a row that Nino has a pb impeding him to win in Nove Mesto, so, he'll hate this race now, despite the fact he has. the record of victories there. Remember last year? He was in front during all the 1st laps, then, a flat tire made him lose more than a minute and pass from the 1st to the 12th position... before he made maybe the greatest come back ever in MTB, coming back in the 3rd position, in contact with Tom and Vlad; but then, Pidcock knowing by his coaches that Nino had this flat tire and just made an HUUUUUGE effort to win more than 1 minute on the best guys of this race in 1 lap to make contact again, he profited that Schurter had to recover a bit from this alien effort to make an attack. That's logical, but not really fair obviously, even if probably all racers would've make the same. But it's the 2nd year in a row that the same guy profit that Nino has pbs to win; even if, once again, he may have win in a final sprint anyway, we can't know; well, last year, Nino was clearly the best, and the fact he won more than 1 minute on the very top guys in just 1 lap proves he was and would've win at 99%, so, very bad luck; and he'd b then the only guy with 34 World Cup victories, and not still chasing the last record he already owns, but not alone for this one. Anyways, another podium in the. monstrous, huge, record full career of the, by far best ever. - 10 WORLD CHAMPION TITLES to 5 for the 2nd best, so, THE DOUBLE. - 8 overall won to 7. - 3 Olympic medals (almost 4, cause he finished 4th in 2021, but was still 3rd just some meters before the end line; so, 4 medals adding the chocolate's one in Tokyo) to 2. - 33 victories in the world cup, record equaled with the 2nd best, but no one can think he won't add at least 1 more, seeing his shape again in 2023. Anyway, he already is the co-owner of this record, the only 1 he isn't the single owner of. - Oldest world champion (those last 2 years, he became WC aged 35 and the 36. - Nino also is THE ONLY RACER EVER to have wi every single XCO of a season; and that was before XCC was created, so, he won every single World Cup race that year, period.
Both women elite and men elite races was some of the best xco battling I have seen In a good while. Just spectacular!
I am a DH and enduro fan...but XCO race is absolutely something else.
There's plenty of great racing to come this year! We can't wait 🍿
What's the difference between XO and enduro?
We were all worried when we lost Warner but the new commentary team is fantastic, well done team. Glad to still have Bart
amazing highlight reel. thank you so much for this guys!
Thanks! We appreciate it 🙂

Thanks for putting yourself out there with the feedback Collin! 😅 We agree!
Very nice
Pidcock's final lap tailwhips do my heart no good!
Pidcock throwing whips on the last jumps: MIC DROP
I struggle to visualise the level of mitochondrial activity in the quadriceps of these athletes. Astonishing in every respect. Bravo Fellas, Bravo and Chapeau.
Yeah mitochondria are quite small so they must be hard to visualise.
Kudos to you for spelling the town with the caron. Small detail but appreciated.
Brilliant win for Tom that last climb when he put the power down wow sensational.Big shout out to the main man NINO brilliant podium!!Awesome racing all weekend and great coverage thank you guys!
E pela bela recuperação devido a queda, buscou e ainda chegou com bons segundos a frente.

Pidcock is a beast. Strong 💪💪💪
Congrats Pidcock!
What a nice Debut also for Pinarello Dogma XC Bike!
They couldn't have asked for more!
Wow this was amazingly covered, edited and shot. You can feel the dynamic of the racing and the course.
Cheers! We're stoked with the coverage coming out of the events this year
Tom was amazing, but what i like the most is how a Decathlon bike came second.
Amazing performance from Dubau!
@GMBN Racing He was bloody fantastic. Going to be some good racing this year.
Blimey! Some of them DH features you'd find in bike parks and these lads are hitting them faster on an XC bike than I could on my enduro bike! Lol 🤘🔥
They're really pushing the technicality these days. It's great to see!
Congrats to all podiums
Excellent highlights. Thanks gmbn
Thanks Lukáš 🙌 We're glad you enjoyed it!
Том в нереальной форме сейчас.. Уникальный талант

I disagree. Most of us don't care about the women's race.
@@trentvlak Nah man, I have followed Evie Richards for years. I always watch women’s and men’s races.

Such good racing. I'm actually ok with just watching the highlights if the racing is this good.... it's better for my nerves🙈
Any hardtails? Im getting back into mtb and got myself a 2nd hand hardtail...
Olé...🚴🇪🇦🤘🏻
Great first run for the British man
The great Piddock!!!
Why does it seem to always rain during races (both mountain and road)?
Tom is my new spirit rider😁🦿💪
Show
Nice mountain bike cycling ucl cycling ❤❤❤
Ok, just one question. How do you whip with the seat up?
They have dropper posts, was his seat up?
@@Cal-Mac Didn't know that. They seem really high on the bike when descending.
at 8:49 you can see him push down on the set on the down ramp just before the jump
Talent. They do it in cyclocross all the time with no dropper. Mathieu van der Poel doesn't use a dropper and he whips with the best of them.
This.
Yep I’ll just hang the roadie up between Spring Classics and TDF and go win some World Cup MTB races 😉
He's quite some rider!

they mentioned it in the live broadcast - a duel between most expensive and less expensive bike
I missed the live broadcast for the xco. I’m gonna have to pony up for gcn+.
Also bears adding that Pidcock’s bike isn’t even available in any model or price. What a weird thing.
Podium on a decathlon bike...top job

Watching a Pidcock interview is torture, but watching this maestro work his magic on a bicycle is truly something special.
😅 He's a pretty casual guy! Nothing seems to phase him, which we guess is why he's so good at performing at this level!
Mr. Pidcock straight to winning off-road again!
I want the MVDP vs Pidcock battle in MTB
We think it'll be back around Andorra! 🤞

Not sure why Pidcock pointed at his bike at the end since it was obviously inferior and he fell off it multiple times.
Makes him super great then winning on a shit bike
