That looked like quite the treat. One small remark, I'd have loved to see a bit more of the outside of the store, it looked like a delightful building.
Considering we haven't been able to go out properly for nearly 2 years, this would be one of those special treats that you really deserve. To hell with the expense. You do it, enjoy it, savour it and have a great time eating it. Looks yum! Cheers Norm :)
@@TokyoLens People shouldn't think of it as a $100 meal, it's just 5 of those $20 treats that we've missed out on recently, all rolled it to 1 awesome meal. Hell, with everything we have missed recently, you could probably even be the 1st person to buy the 100,000Y :D
I've been eating like it's the apocalypse for the entire pandemic. Half of my family has gone vegan, so every meal has either beans or tofu. Salted peanuts are a treat for me.
For a $80-$100 ramen dish, this looks like the best "fancy food" I've ever seen (ever)! The concept of not only combining two famous food items together (ex: ramen and wagyu meat), but then adding different flavored salts or items to increase the experience for the individual? Amazing! And generally I think the adding of items (as said) allows people to have more fun and be smartly frugal as not everyone has that ability. Very cool and tons of respect to Akasaka Matsutora for creating such a rad idea
@@TokyoLens I think we should all pitch in and donate a bit each. The ultimate video would be him taking Okazaki-San for the first ever two purchased orders of the 110,000¥ ramen. Her reaction would break the internet.
Oooh, wow, that meat literally did melt away. Expensive, but worth it for the experience alone. Looks delicious and your excitement with the different salts and truffle really shone through.
This video dropped just after I finished my bowl of instant Ramen. I enjoyed it but now I feel like I missed out lmao. Love the vid, the Ramen looked incredibly tasty and I will definitely have to add that to my list of expensive Japanese food I want to try!
Wow, that ramen looked absolutely unbelievable. You can tell the restaurant staff really takes pride in the food they serve and that comes across in the actual dish you receive. This is definitely the kind of meal that is worth the price in the end
I really need to budget this into my next trip. Whenever that might be! Even the Y500 bowl of ramen looks good! And dashi broth is a change from the usual broth used for ramen, I think.
As part of a household who loves ramen, these both looked delicious. The dashi ramen seemed like it was light, yet hearty and a nice pick me up on a chilly day, while the wagyu was mind blowing in its presentation alone. I never fully grasped the concept when others have told me it’s a meat that melts in your mouth. Now I get it. Watching it partially cook in the broth and fall apart…I’ve never seen that before! This was truly a delightful experience!
I don't think the description of ramen via a video has ever made my mouth water, but you nailed it with this one Norm. That looks delicious and I am glad you enjoyed it. it's good to treat yourself once in a while, especially with the way things are at the moment. Keep up the great work and have a Merry Christmas!
@@DrJustininJapan I've been to Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe back in March 2019 with college friends for a research collab with international universities. Went back to my country just to take final exams. Went back to Osaka, Nara and Kyoto in April with family. I was lucky to experience pre- and post- spring! 🤣 I love the culture, the people, the environment, and the food. I miss my Japanese friends. I hope they're all doing well and staying safe. Had this lockdown not happened, we would've visited Hokkaido next. Looking forward to my next visit!
Wow! Just wow. That looks incredible. As someone who just tried a “highly rated” ramen restaurant in Vermont (yeah I should have known) and was highly disappointed, this is just a culinary tease!
@Tokyo Lens hell yeah! I'm up for that! It won't be as exciting as your food adventure here but at least you get to try the traditional British food 😅😅
This was another incredibly well produced video! I've always enjoyed your videos, but I appreciate this improved production value so much. Such a cool restaurant to cover as well! I can't quite wrap my mind around how insane that price is, but it looks like it was worth it for you!
Don't know if I would ever dare to spend so much on a single meal, but that does looks delicious. Maybe as a once in a lifetime thing it would be acceptable! :D
Seeing this gets my mouth watering, never had real Ramen in my life and also never had Wagyu. Raw meat is no problem as long it got handled correctly, raw Beef is no problem, pork depends and poultry would be a no go for me. But this thin slices in hot/warm broth dont seem risky ;) Do they have this paper where you mark your meal also in english ? Or do you have to play blind crossword puzzle ;)
I really hope that you can try real ramen one day! I really love all kinds of instant ramen, and I went many years before being able to try it from a restaurant. Instant is good, but the real thing is so much better. I don't go often, because I like to go all out and add extra toppings etc so it gets a little pricey lol. But put it on your bucket list for sure
That’s a lot of food! And the gold foil in top is so dramatic for a bowl of ramen. But it looks really good! There’s a lot of thought that goes into preparing it too. And it’s cool that you get your own room! And that they were kind enough to help you get some good shots.
It would be fun to get Okazaki to visit the biggest apartments, most expensive or most architecturally unusual apartments /houses in the area with to get her take on them.
That looks amazing. The moment of hesitation before you bite in is so familiar. "How do I eat this?", and I can only imagen how that feeling is amplified with a A5 wagyu!
YES, we all want to see Okazaki san again! You should have brought her with you to this ramen shop! ( The guy said nobody ever ordered the A5 wagyu ramen ?!?!?! You were the first? ) Wow. Amazing. The gold flakes really pushed it over the top. Nice touch with the truffle oil and salt.
Thank you for info! Nice to know that there are also cheaper options :-) It is nice how you got memory flashback in the end of video and wished that Okazaki-san was there with you enjoying food. I just remember how fast she started to plan decorating things in one of the previous videos.
