*TL;DR* Gaming Merchant says that snap tap can screw up movement techs in Apex Legends, but it is good for strafe mirroring an enemy if you're bad to decent at the game. Optimum tech specifically mentions that OW 2 and CS GO are really good with snap tap, and for Apex/Valorant it's not that much of a game changer.
For Valorant, its not much of a changer? Weird, would have expected it to be similar impact to CS2/CSGO since they share a lot of mechanics including counter-strafing. Which I would have assumed is the biggest impact of Snap-Tap.
@@vincentvandeperre1670 I was just assuming since they copied mechanics. You know, like how Smash and CoD clones usually copy most of the mechanics and feel of the game to the point there's a bit of cross-over with tech?
@@DustyOrange Fair thing to assume, however as the other comment said, Valorant does not have the counterstrafe mechanic. Theres no benefit to doing it like there is in CS2
Becauce cs i all about counter strave. In Cs with the one tap machanic every shot count way more than in apex. In Cs you have a massive peek advantage and with this new keyboard mechanic you almost cant hold angles any more.
^ Honestly its not helpful in apex, I ran with it for ~5 hours on apex after testing it in R6 and CS. All it did was screw up my bhopping to slightly improve my jiggle peeking. Apex isn't the kind of game where null binds are going to help you. Except in VERY niche use cases, so in general pass on this feature unless you're playing a tac shooter. With that being said HE boards are bis and not a fad or a meme. It's a noticeable difference.
This sounds good for mirror strafing. I have been using this feature for a few days now. I havent noticed the issues with b hopping I may just be inputing the keys like you said to make it work.
He said bunny hopping but what he really meant is pito strafing which adds lurches to bunny hops so you’re alternating a diagonal pattern with each bunny hop
I tried the alternative Rappy Snappy and SOCD on wooting 60he in apex legends and counter strike2 and I just couldn't get to like it. I'm already quite good with counter strafes in cs2, as I can release the direction key pretty fast and hit the opposite key right away, and both profiles actually made me play worse. I use 0.1 actuation points tho, so the SOCD/rappy might be working sub-optimally because of that, but I'm already too used to the 0.1, feels very responsive to play on.
Oh, BTW! If your a real OG PC Gamer you would know you can do this in windows to get the same effect of this keyboard by simply turning on sticky keys as well as changing your keyboard repeat to 0 as well as the delay time to 0. This we know from back in the days of Mechwarrior and Halo on PC
The only useful part of this new feature is binding it to W and S (youll never be pressing these at the same time for movement) to keep lurchers from accidentally hitting both and stopping their momentum. only a minor help
This is wrong. I don't know what is different in our testing, but I have a wooting with sodc enabled and I can bunny hop and lurch, however it is more difficult, especially lurch strafing but still definitely possible. I'm still going to turn sodc off now because the pros don't outweigh harder lurching for me, and I didn't realise that it was harder until I saw this, so thanks for making this video!
People never called using controllers with back buttons and adjustable trigger stops in console lobbies cheating, even though it does give a mega advantage. That's without mentioning the Xbox Elite 2's shift function capability (which literally only I use but it is more advantageous than you could ever imagine).
@@i-am-mercurial You can assign buttons as shift buttons that make other buttons function as if they were other buttons when the shift button is pressed, kind of like of a shift key is on a keyboard. Sorry for the "button"-loaded tongue twister but that's the only way I could describe it.
@@neos.4587 It's a different thing that also gives an advantage. I never said it had anything to do with strafing or this new keyboard functionality. Also, you said tap strafe, but this new functionality has everything to do with actual strafing and nothing to do with aiding tap strafing, which technically isn't strafing at all.
This is just going to ruin the skill ceiling. It creates a new false ceiling for newer players, who won’t be able to practice their movement. This will just make it harder for medium players to become better.
Game Devs can easily set limits in their games that nullifies the advantage, its been done in the past with similar issues. Its literally maybe an hour of work, on a slow day, with broken fingers.
This is why i was fairly unfussed when i heard about the feature and surprised when my colleague reviewed it and raved about how game changing it was. I was just so used to apex style movement/gameplay where ultra rapid strafing just isnt really a thing and other movement is what matters. Even in CS it seems of limited benefit. That footage of overwatch though... Yikes.
Ahhh I see, keyboards have caught up with guitar hero guitars from 2004 lol The moment you learn that you can hold the top fret but lower frets block that hold from activating xd
I have the wooting with the new update to it. bhopping is still possible its just a bit harder because you have to be more precise with switching between a and d. it takes a bit to get use to but its fine after some practice to get reaquainted. i just played the big tdm mode for like a game and i was back to bhopping like before. although i have notice that my mantle jumps are more effortless and just zipline movement is just snappier and dare i say easier since i don't overlap inputs.
Foranyone on the fence for the wooting, ill let you know...I AINT EVER TOUCHING ANOTHER KEYBOARD AGAIN. Its soo good i stopped smashing my keyboards(probs cause the long wait to get it about 3 months) now onto apex was my fav game for the results the ability to have such responsive keys and all these features, lurching became so easy, yuki strafing actually got a lil harder but innthe end still can do it. Buy it so worth
@@IsaacOrd ok, that makes sense. After missing entire mags against horizons, I decided to start playing her, but my movement looked NOTHING like theirs. Sad days😭
Null binds are a thing for years, not a surprise, in my opinion many "good, pro and content creator players" have been using it for a long time. The surprising part is that Razer and Wooting are showing this "tech" blatantly and getting attention, something that it's not nice for the "pros" of "X" game. Its not a user issue that keyboard processes button presses in some convoluted way. Game should have movement that does not allow unhuman actions. Thats a games fault not players (or keyboard manufacturers)

using scripts to make things easier is mildly cheating. then you might upgrade a level and use recoil scripts as well. or go even further and use walls, then aim-bot. and if you die, crash the server. all scripts are cheating p.s. I own a wooting, but won't use the feature.
@@Shreyas-S I think if they want crossplay, the should not have aim assist. If they play against each other, don't care, but it's legalized cheating as well. The controller was made for games, don't understand why they need aim assist for an input specifically made for games. If they need aim assist, the input is bad, make a new one or use the typewriter, aka keyboard instead. Or give them the opportunity to play mnk on console. It's not that hard, there are thrid party cheating orgs that made devices for that.
