I didn’t get you. What is auto acceleration volume? This is 2018 modal
Would you know where i can get the facia (you called it a plastic cap) from? The ones online are only for the cheap chinese type.. and are not square

Good tutorial, looks simple enough to do.
I have just bought a vitz rs in the uk, imported from japan, changed the factory fitted head unit to a android auto/carplay head unit however the fitter of the head unit informed me there is no way to connect it to the steering wheel controls 😢
You should check the head unit prior to buy wether it’s supported to steering controls. As far as i know most of Chinese units supports
