Glad to hear it! I love the feel of this car. It just works. Mine's been sitting since I filmed this video, haven't had to drive it for about 4-5 weeks now but I know when I start it up next week it'll be driving like a champ.
I'd love to get my hands on an E65/E65 to feature on the channel. We did an Alpina B7 2007 when I first started the show but it was an early style video and we didn't get to spend much time with it.
Glad you're still around! I don't get to drive my personal cars as much as I did when I first bought the 7 Series, but I still think it's important to go over the maintenance and repairs given a car that sits has the potential to be just as costly as one that's driven often.
I currently own a one-owner 2012 C350, and I absolutely love it. It’s been reliable from 90k to 150k miles with no major issues. The only features I wish it had are Keyless Go and xenon headlights, but otherwise, it offers most of the luxury amenities I could want.
Back in 2021 i was able to find a c300 manual transmission with 130k but asking price was 12000 cash ...i was a student and missed the opportunity...it was a decently specced silver car ....
We had a 2012 C350 that I miss terribly. I replaced the seat bottom with the OEM cover from Mercedes for around $280 and it looked new. Simple repair that took an hour tops.
Yay more old car videos! The great thing about older cars ia that you don't have to fix everything. You can leave some things broken if they don't matter to you.
Especially if they don't get driven often! I would like to address them at some point, but it doesn't affect the vehicle's drivability at this point. I think back to all the other cars I had been looking at back when I bought this, and feel it was the right decision in 2022, and the right decision in 2025.
2013 C350 4matic AMG sport package owner here. My driver seat is also torn at the exact same spot at 87k kilometers. So I guess it really is a weak spot. Also, I have a Canadian sepc car and it doesn't have the manual gear shift levers on the wheel, AMG sport package should include that, but it's not in the VIN spec, I checked. Weird. And yes the 7g-tronic is a bit lazy. I changed the transmission oil, as per Mercedes requirements the updated 7g-tronic gets the blue trans oil and according to mercedes it's good for 125k kilometers. P.S. since I bough mine used I changed the trans oil at 80k so wouldn't have to worry about it, cost me 400$ though.
Sounds like a smart decision for preventative maintenance! The extra power from the C 350 would have been nice, along with some of the tiny interior upgrades over the base interior on mine. Either way it sounds like you've got a solid example!
There's rough shifting between certain gears, you'll notice it as it's rather harsh if the problem exists. Mine was doing that going into 3rd for a while, especially if I were on the highway and needed to kick down to pass slower traffic. It hasn't been bad for me for a while now, its been pretty smooth overall, but it is a known issue with the 7G-Tronic transmissions. Regular transmission fluid change can help prevent issues.
Sounds like a decent enough price, bit high on mileage compared with mine however if there's been regular maintenance and service on it then you should be fine. Mine's been great as you can see, I still love it!
As an American, i watch many Canadian and European car videos, when it comes to dollar amounts, i always hear Canadians say “thats Canadian dollars here is the US conversion “ but you will never find an American converting in to any other currency. Why is this? Are Canadians told to reference the us dollar?
Pretty much as the reply above states. 50% of our views come from the USA, so for us to stay competitive we include information for our US viewers while remaining as Canadian-focused as possible.
@ as a Californian, i tend to forget how less densely populated the world is. Im from san jose California, there is 1M people in this 16x18 mile square haha. We often joke about British people not understanding how large America is. My mom once met a couple from the UK that said they were going to bike from Napa county (above San Francisco) all the way down to Disney Land in Los Angeles as their (thats what we are doing tomorrow) they thought it was like 1 city or something. My mom was like yea you need to book a plane ticket cause its close to 500 miles away.
Show me a 2013 BMW 3 Series or Audi A4 without issues. No car in this class will be problem-free, but given the experience you get out of it, it beats driving a 2013 Civic.
@@PRNTestDrive yes, I'd be more inclined to choose a merc over the other two although the merc would probably be more costly to repair, right? this is just the impression I get anyway. as far as 'experience' goes, I also believe that the merc would feel more solid and high-quality in general, in use. however if there is always something to fix and if something major pops up, I wonder whether the overall ownership experience could become a headache or nightmare for someone on a tight budget. This is why I've stayed away from all 3 of those german marques to date (aside from my first 6 cars being from the VAG group, back when cars were really simple - they were the most accessible). Regarding the civic, I believe that it would feel much lighter and sportier, would hardly ever go wrong, and if it did, the cost of repair would be much cheaper. Obviously it wouldn't feel as luxurious and one probably wouldn't feel as safe, after driving the merc. I haven't owned or driven any of the above but for your $10k budget, you could probably get a 2013 Civic in absolute mint condition, with ultra-low mileage, that sips fuel and won't give a single issue for a couple of decades, right? That said, there's something really boring and appliance-like about Hondas. I'm personally currently looking into older mercs with NA M113 and 5 spd, to finally have an 'experience', despite the risks (which have still been taken into consideration with the choice, but still, they're old mercs). I thought your choice was interesting because you don't get many people praising C300s, and I just wanted to be convinced more but I couldn't get past all the niggles and issues that you have to deal with from the get-go, in this instance. and I'm wary whenever I see M27* for an engine number. It's like, how did MB go from overengineering to dropping the ball on basic things like materials etc.? amen.
As a Canadian struggling to find an affordable daily driver that sparks joy thanks bcuz this wasn't on my radar
Glad I could put it on your list for you! I love mine, no regrets.
I drove mine home for the first time yesterday, blew my mind how strong & subtle the engine is
Glad to hear it! I love the feel of this car. It just works. Mine's been sitting since I filmed this video, haven't had to drive it for about 4-5 weeks now but I know when I start it up next week it'll be driving like a champ.
Glad this car has been so good to you! A dream used car for me would be an E65 pre-facelift 7 series, I just love the 2000s futurism of it.
I'd love to get my hands on an E65/E65 to feature on the channel. We did an Alpina B7 2007 when I first started the show but it was an early style video and we didn't get to spend much time with it.
I first found your channel during the E38 days, updates on these older cars is what I miss

I've been able to live without keyless go, it's nice on the S-Class though. I'd love to feature a C 350 to see how the power is between the two.
Back in 2021 i was able to find a c300 manual transmission with 130k but asking price was 12000 cash ...i was a student and missed the opportunity...it was a decently specced silver car ....
Sounds like it! That would have been a pretty rare option, unless someone did the swap themselves.
We had a 2012 C350 that I miss terribly. I replaced the seat bottom with the OEM cover from Mercedes for around $280 and it looked new. Simple repair that took an hour tops.
That's pretty reasonable actually! Would definitely be worth it at that price, I imagine it'll be more for the Canadian parts catalogue.

coming on two years its still awesome!!!!! luxury lunar blue 2012. Mine has backup camera and DVD :D
That's definitely the colour to go with! Backup camera would have been nice on mine from the factory.
@PRNTestDrive I find it more useful than modern backup cameras because it's just a hd 60fps webcam, I personally like this over the lines.
did yours ever have the dreaded esl issue?
Not since I’ve owned it.
I love your car! As a 300, does she have an M276 DE35A?
Technically it should be the DE35, without anything after.
@ got it thanks. I’ve had mine for twelve years since new. I just did an ECU remap and she goes like nuts :) she’s more fuel efficient too.
What are the issues with the transmission?

I’m getting a 2011 C300 4Matic Sport with 170k miles for 5k is that a good deal?
Sounds like a decent enough price, bit high on mileage compared with mine however if there's been regular maintenance and service on it then you should be fine. Mine's been great as you can see, I still love it!

Canada's entire population is less than that of California. Most of the viewers are actually American.

Uhhhhhh because the majority of viewers are from the US fucko
weird... you listed like 10 things wrong with it and still recommend it? tattered seats and all? weren't most of these M27* engines problematic too?
