I've been saying it. But this season has been owning it this year. It's the top season of all seasons for MHA. All Might with one more "I am here" to face AFO and the Todoroki family all coming together for Toya. Beautiful man, beautiful
I just wish there weren't as much fluff and padding as there were in the previous episodes leading up to this. A lot of this season felt like they were wasting time so that they can split what should be ONE final season into two, which will kill the momentum. This episode was good, but knowing that there will be only one episode left really saddens me. A shortened 20 episode season combined with a lot of time wasting in this season really put a bummer on what should have been a no-holds-barred, no-compromises, no blunders, consistently-high-quality final season of this incredibly awesome shonen that I love. And while I don't know how the series will end because I don't read the manga (intentionally to avoid spoilers), I'm hearing word of the final ending being pretty bad by a lot of fans. So that's also not looking good.
@@ShadeSlayer1911Highly disagree. The big fight between AFO and All Might should be in the "final season" since it is the "final fight" of those two-the "final fight" of Izuku vs Shigaraki. After reading the manga and knowing what happens, another "shortened" season closes out the show. In my opinion it will close out just how it started at "13"
@@BmoreAkuma Breaking that final fight apart from this season breaks up any momentum this season might have built up for it. Now we're having to wait a whole other year for such a fight to happen and for the show to conclude. A starting season of 13 is fine, but an ending one? You lose the momentum and then don't give enough time to build it back up before wrapping things up. Even if we had to wait 2 years for it, I'd rather have an extended final season rather than have a final season split into 2 years. I'm very much afraid that splitting the seasons up this way will kill the series. I myself might be too disillusioned, between the time-wasting that this final season part 1 did and the possibility of a disappointing final ending to the series, to actually continue onto this final season part 2. It's ridiculous. It feels like the same trend of movie trilogies or series splitting their final "book" into 2 movies to milk more money out of the viewers. I'm not a fan of it. Instead of wasting as much time as they did this season, they should have had a full season, or at worst, a couple episodes more than a full season, maybe 28 instead of 24 episodes. I can see at least 4 whole episodes worth of padding that could be cut out to save time. And again, a 2 year wait for a legit final final season is fine. Give it time to have a no-compromises final season for a legendary shonen series. Give us the OPM quality of animation for the ENTIRE final season, instead of just in small bits that we're used to getting. Heck, I don't even care if we would've had to wait 3 years or even 4 years for it. A perfect final season that gets all the high quality that it deserves would have been worth it, and far more preferable than splitting a final season into 2. Seriously, some parts of Deku vs Shiggy even looked a bit goofy, especially compared to the manga panels (I did look for some comparison), for as serious as that fight was supposed to be. And what, we get one episode left to do what? All Might vs AFO? Or Deku vs Shiggy round 2? Nah, this smells like money milking behavior, not something that is for the best of the series. There is no reason why a final season of such a series needed to have so much padding for time. Even AFO said "now you're just quibbing." It's bad enough that even the characters within the universe are commenting on it. And no, lampshading a bad practice does not make it better. It just means they know what they're doing and don't even care enough to hide it. Heck, if budget and timing is the issue, scrap the 4th movie. We didn't need that. It's awkwardly placed between seasons where there's days of in-universe interim. Use the resources that went towards that movie to give us a proper final season.
It always makes me sad how Dabi/Toya was the kid that endeavor always wanted (someone who can regulate his firepower with an ice quirk), he was just a late bloomer. Endevor realized then that it was not even a lack in Toya's abilities, it was his impatience that made things end up this way.
Beforehand, Shoto was called the “hero of the family,” and after this, yeah, he absolutely is. Not that he wasn’t before. And honestly, for as horrific of a person as Touya has become, I think it’s only right for him to be saved by the family and make sure he doesn’t game end himself. It was great timing too since Endeavor had just given up on Touya again. The emotions were complicated as heck this time around, but I’m hoping that Touya can finally find some level of peace…
And the poetic thing is that this All Might vs All For One Round 3 is taking place in the same place as Round 2, Kamino Ward. === I love that All For One, a megalomaniacal sociopath previously incapable of feeling things like hate, can now feel hate thanks to his attempts to absorb Shigaraki's emotions so AFO could use them to overpower One For All and now it's screwing him over since previously he wouldn't have lost sight of his goal just to satisfy a grudge. === Dabi awakening Rei's Ice was foreshadowed by the fact that his quirk was always a hybrid of his parents and not just a stronger version of his father's quirk. Touya had his father's fire power and his mother's cold-centered constitution so when near death the ice part simply grew strong enough to manifest itself in more than just cold resistance. I just thought I'd note this for people to read because a lot of fans called BS as fans like to do on anything they don't like and make excuses and ignore facts that don't fit their views. Also, remember that Touya's tear ducts were burnt away so the tears are actually ice melting in way that they become akin to tears. I love symbolism. His ability to cry is burnt away by flames of hate and then return by the cold and loving embrace of his family. I love the Todoroki family so much.
They really put Stain there to see Iida and Todoroki, The two other than Midoriya who stopped him in Season 2. For Stain to see the growth of those two especially Iida who ge tried to kill.
Yeah Toya "awakened" his ice half on the verge of death. Personally I don't like them adding the awakening bit so late. It feels like not only copying One Piece and DF awakenings, but a cheap way to get the hero's stronger all of a sudden without actually training.
I like the concept of quirk awakenings, especially since it ties into the Doomsday Quirk theory, but you're right in that it's quite half-baked and also just a plot armor thing most of the time. I wish it were more fleshed out and has more sense in it, but that holds true for much of MHA.
I don't think it was meant to make him stronger. Awakening his mother's quirk means he was a late bloomer so Endeavour realised that it was his impatience with made Dabi. It was never his ability. If endeavour would have had patience and waited for Toya he would have awakened his mother's quirk eventually. Endeavour in his impatience pushed Toya and then disregarded him when it was never the case that he wouldn't unlock Ice
Glad I'm not the only one with ninjas cutting onions nearby. 😂😂
