Thanks for posting this. I was 5 years old when my dad took me to this race, it was my first exposure to the sport. I remember at the end of the race they let us on the track to pickup scattered race car parts and take banners , this can be scene at minute 50:40. I'm 35 years old now and the impact that this one race had on my life is immeasurable. following this race I got my first of many dirt bikes which was proceeded by multiple prerunners. I took my passion a step further with the help of friends in 2009 I raced and in MDR 1450 series which I won multiple races and won the season championship for 1450 and sportsman.
The sport of off-road has given me life long friends, taught me team work, how to work hard for something, how to budget, how to engineer/fabricate and think outside of the box. I use all these lessons daily at home and in my professional life as much as or more then any lessons I learned in a classroom.

I was a little kid when I would go with my dad and his friends across the track to check out the pits during the dead of night. and we would take the banners off of Thompson ridge. I had a blast!
