    My comment is about the very end of the video. You are right on. It's all about forgetting your troubles and just enjoying the time. That's how I feel riding my VTX that I have had for approx 20 years.

    Just got back from a 100 mile ride on my 2007 VTX C 1300 , with 34,000 plus miles. Cobra pipes. Loved every minute of the ride. Never sell this bike. Bought it new, just basic maintenance.

    I picked up my 08 VTX 2 years ago. Been using it to commute back and forth to work and road trip on put over 24000 miles on it in 2 years. It's sitting at 51,000 miles and runs like a champ. I really love how comfortable this bike is I've done 325 miles in a day with no problems. Just added a wider crash bar so I can fit some highway pegs inside of it. The old crash bar sat right where I wanted my foot to be. Have fun and keep the shiny side up.

    I just bought an 2004 Honda vtx 1300c, I paid 3k and it has 28k miles on it, previous owner added a few upgrades, crash bar, highway pegs, cobra exhaust, windshield, hypercharger, led light bar sissy bar, luggage rack etc, I added a mustang seat i didn't like the stock seat, sounds mean not to bad to maneuver at slow speeds, really crushes the highway, all in all I really enjoy this bike

    I bought one on sale for 7,500 brand new. I now have about 85,000 on it and it still doesn't have any problems. The carb was adjusted too lean when I first got it and it made it cold natured so I had to adjust the carb. Other than that it has always ran perfectly. These bikes are bulletproof. I love mine and it has plenty of power and it is fast enough but isn't a speed demon. On the highway the motor, with the gearing it has, runs best about 70 or 75 actual speed, (although when you are going 75 actual speed the speedo says you are going something like 83) but I have had it up to 112 mph (actual speed) so it will go pretty fast if you really want it to.

      @@vr112 if it’s really cold out I have to open the choke all the way and let it run for two or three minutes wide-open. Then slowly push the choke and keep giving it gas. Eventually it’ll idle, after about 10 minutes of it warming up then I ride it in the cold and it does OK. I know what you mean.

    • @jlrutube1312
      @jlrutube1312 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@vr112 the government mandated certain standards that honda couldn't meet without going to fuel injection so honda just adjusted the fuel air mixture really lean to meet the standard. It made the vtx 1300 extremely cold natured. So you have to adjust the fuel air mixture more rich. That is, more fuel less air. Problem is you need a special little tool like a screwdriver but shaped like a D to adjust it. A guy on one of the vtx forums (VTXOA) made and sold the tools. I can't remember his name but I will try to find out. A motorcycle mechanic could probably help you out...

    That's what I like about the VTX 1300. No extras you don't really need. I'm old school and like carbs instead of fuel injection so I can tune things myself. And who needs a fuel gauge? Never had one and I don't feel the need for one, that's what the extra odometer is for. Bike has plenty of power for two up on a long trip and all our luggage. Love my VTX and it will be the last bike I'll ever need.

    I just bought a 2004 VTX 1300 with less than 20k miles on it. Yes, you read that right, 20 years old, less than 20k miles. Plot twist: I bought it from a guy here in Texas who sadly got flooded in the recent rains. It took on about a foot and a half of water. He's a friend and too old to ride these days so he told me "$500 and it's yours", so clearly I couldn't turn THAT shit down. Clearly I have my work cut out for me, but I'm happy to do it. Here's the thing, I've RIDDEN for 15 years, but I've never ONCE turned a wrench on a motorcycle. Plenty of cars, and I'm an HVAC mechanic by trade, so I likely have the "mechanical knowledge and skill set" to do the work that needs to be done. That said, I'm always happy to take advice. I've found the owners manual online, but CLEARLY I'm gonna need some parts, and what I DON'T see in the manual are PARTS BREAKDOWN AND PARTS NUMBERS. Curious if anyone here knows where I can find what I guess would be called the "SERVICE" manual, with breakdowns and part numbers. This was a great video btw, you made me even more excited to get mine cleaned up and on the road!

    Definitely a solid choice for a bike. Not going to break land speed record, but it's a cruising bike. For 2k and a Honda built in Ohio that's a no brainer. Plus yes bullet proof motor absolutely. Even if you have moderate mechanical skills you can do all that needs to be done on this bike. 60k miles wouldn't scare me off that bike at all. Just do the regular maintenance and the bike will run until you stop being able to run. Excellent choice for a comfortable very nimble monster of a cruiser. Yup you can't go wrong with the Honda VTX 1300r cruiser.

    Love my 05 VTX 1300C . The sport model of the 1300. Shorter pipes and aluminum wheels. Cleaning the peacock and knowing the true position helps with the cold starts. Only pulled my choke a few times in 17 yrs and no problem with cold starts until the peacock needed to be flushed and cleaned. I have 0 regrets buying this bike. Has 68,000 original miles. Regular maintenance and upkeep is the key.

    This beast was my dream bike. Got mine at 6000miles 2006. I spent more money on benzine than accesories and parts together, the only thing that i had to replace in the past year n half for 20,000miles was the water cooler's cover, felt off due to screws snapping from that monstrous machine's vibrations. The water cooler stood there for rest of the 700miles trip without budging btw.

      Sit on one, then bring it up right with your feet flat on the ground. Then lean it down on its kickstand and put your feet on the foot pegs and see if that feels right to you. That will tell you everything you need to know. If you find that to be overwhelming start with a lighter bike and work your way up to the VTX.

    How would a 6'2" fit ?

      I'll be honest I'm not sure, the floorboards are way out in front of you which is good for a taller person. So your legs would be stretched forward, the seat height is pretty low so at a stop you might feel pretty low to the ground for your height. The frame itself is pretty big and tank length tends to make my arms stretch forward to the grips so for you it might be perfect. This is all with stock bars and original specs. Sean from SRK is well over 6 feet and he loves the bike. If you see a used one at a dealer take it for a spin you might a good fit for it. Hope it helps. TG.

      @@JJ-bv2gp if you’re comfortable on a bigger heavier bike you might be fine. It’s personal preference. Sometimes if you’re going slow through a parking lot or you have to maneuver it around some things it can be tricky for a new rider because of the weight.
