    Seems like winter died just about everywhere haha. Same here in Quebec. We had an incredible snow storm just before Christmas (~2 feet of snow) that gave us incredible backcountry conditions then we got 20mm on rain just before new year. Great video as always Jeff!

    Utah is getting pounded with snow. Ive been sick since Jan 1 so training has come to a halt. If I can ever stop coughing Ill head to an indoor track.

    Winter Wonderland- I love it. And you are correct. I live in Alberta so there is no way I can run all year round so winter becomes about weight training, stationary bike, and the odd grind on the treadmill while watching an NFL game:) It is good though as it forces us to mix it up. Awesome video as always.

    Merci Audrée and Jeff- I am really enjoying this channel- connecting to life here on the coast! I am just starting trail running and appreciate the local BC content ( as well as some places around the world to dream about!) Keep the training videos coming- my goal is to do a 50K before I turn 60 years old- a few kms to go but any info and tips are so helpful! Looking forward to lots more.

    I always enjoy your videos! They had a large part in inspiring me to run my first ultra last summer. I'm always excited I might run into you on the trails whenever I run the north shore. I also am loving training via ski touring although my uphill running is much better than my downhill, I think due to all the uphill ski touring!

    Just discovered your channel a couple months ago and have been binging it while I eat up treadmill miles due to the inclement weather. You do a fantastic job and can't wait to see what your year has in store for you guys! Keep it up!!

    Those opening shots were wild Jeff. Nice work and have fun running out there. The snow is set in quite well here in Montana, so if you need to get your ski fix, come on down!

    Looking forward to the Georgia video and following along again for 2023.
    I’ve entered a number of races this year and hoping for my first ultra toward the end of the year.

    It’s been a relatively mild Winter in Manitoba so far compared to last year anyway. Almost shorts weather for a Manitoba runner when it hits 0 degrees C !

    Nice to ear from your, it looks like the weather is playing the same tricks in France. I had to go back to running for three weeks but it finally felt enough to go ski touring again. Enjoy it🎿👍

    Go for your runs when it is still/already dark outside and listen to Black Metal while you are at it. Seriously. Especially forest runs are incredibly magical that way and you have a fast BPM to keep you scratching that threshold.
    Plus: The music is so ''cold'' the outside temperature seems like a piece of cake.

    I was also hoping for a good touring season here in the alps to give my knees a rest after a big year last year. Hasn't happened though and I only had a brief break from the trails on the roads. Signed up for Istria 100 which has always seemed too early in the season so maybe it is a good thing I can get out on the trails still!

    Great video! Skiing is my winter sport too. Have you guys tried snowshoe running? I got a pair of snowshoes designed for that this year and really enjoy. I’m in a rural part of the BC interior so road and trail running don’t work too well. Doing a snowshoe run 10k in February!

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bought a pair of running snowshoes years ago but I just so rarely use them! They’re fun but I find they’re overkill on packed trails. But a snowshoe race would be super fun!

    Just found your channel and must say your videos are top notch. We have had the same weather situation in the Kootenays. Tons of snow in December and now local ski has had to close with all the rain. I use a few hex head sheet metal screws in my shoes for the icy roads, works great. 🇨🇦
    The Kootenay region seems to be missing from your series, any plans for doing something here? Valhallas? Maybe Broken Goat trail race?

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I ran Broken Goat years ago and loved it, so we’ll have to head back there one day to film for sure. But this year we’ll be racing the Wildhorse Traverse!

      @@JeffPelletier That looks like a tough one, I am running the Freaky Creeky 50K as my first ultra in the same area. Have a great race.

    Hi Jeff, I love your videos. I am discovering the wonderful world of trail running. I'm from Québec but would love to go run to British-Columbia. Any advice for witch race i should start with. Thank you!

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are a couple of good race series I’d recommend checking out:
      - 5 Peaks is best for beginners. This was how I got into trail running!
      - Coast Mountain Trail Series is where you can graduate to once you’re ready for a real challenge. Really fun and interesting courses.

    Why don't you just wear the Salomon Snowspike CSWP?

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those are great shoes for some conditions, but typically we run on trails with much more variable conditions here in North Vancouver, where we’re going from dry rock and roots to deep snow and back. So I’ve always preferred something I can take on and off, or even just carry for emergencies.
