Did Roy seriously think he could get past Dwight?
He didn't think.
Not first
“You know who’s a hero? Hero from Heroes. Also Bono.” - Dwight
Roy was unaware of Dwight's full potential
No because bears beats battle star galactica
Roy only dared to attack after Kevin had left
haha recall to that scene at the bar when Kevin posted up when Roy went berserk after Pam told him she kissed Jim
@@KaiserBruh love when the creators put that details
@@galymzhankyrykbaev2976
Brian Baumgarten (Kevin) improvised that.
The only We haven’t seen Kevin Smash is because the cameraman would be in danger if it happened
Well kevin did say he would have his back so...good move to wait.
The fact that Dwight pulled the pepper spray out so fast, makes me think that every time someone enters the office, the guy is just ready
Roy announced his intention when he yelled at Jim. Dwight had a few seconds to get ready
Doesn’t Dwight later pull out a knife when Andy’s Sweeney Todd musical cast members visit the office 😆
@@laurentt1484 yes, i think is VERY suitable for the character to think that every time someone steps in the office he puts his hand inside his weapon drawer just for precaution.
@@mateussemh6357 probably does it without any noticing at first probably pretends to be working on something with his hand resting on the handle or drawer already open etc.
As you should, pepper spray serves no purpose if you're not ready to use it.

I have a feeling he always knew Roy was aggressive
That's one of my fav scenes

Dwight saying "who's laughing now?" with tears streaming down his eyes and definitely not laughing is hilarious.

Yeah that is in fact the joke
This is why Dwight's my favourite character. He defends his co workers, even though he hates them.
Exactly
No, that is a volunteer deputy sheriff’s duty. He has to protect the people of Scranton.
!!! also he's playing chess on twitch in Pogchamps now, they should be afraid !!!
@@srinathradhakrishnan8287 He gave that up since he betrayed them.
Dwight is WHOLEsome on a WHOLE other level
Why would anyone laugh at Dwight for carrying pepper spray to protect himself? That’s a pretty rational thing to do especially for Dwight
Luke Urbin?! Is that you! Dude it’s been such a long time!!!
I the problem was he didn't change it
I totally agree
Amen
Pretty cheap “insurance” in all seriousness if you ask me
When you realize Jim is absolutely one of the people who would have teased Dwight about bringing in pepper spray, and then it saves him.
And that is why Jim bends over backwards to repay Dwight.
FR! And I love how they worked that into the episode. It's honestly one of my favorites, seeing Jim's entire world shaken and how he has no idea how repay Dwight afterwards. You can tell he knows he would have mocked the hell out of Dwight's pepperspray if he'd known!
His face after having to admit to himself that dwight saved him from a beating
Gotta love that realistic depiction of pepper spray. Everyone in close proximity got some kind of effect from it, not just Roy
Especially indoors
That's why they make pepper gel now. Much less collateral damage.
The one detail they missed is the camera men getting affected by it.
I love this since this shows that Dwight really cares about his co-workers even if he doesn’t show it most of the time
You mean his... Subordinates?
His inferiors
It’s his job to protect his co workers (in his mind)
It's not like that. Dwight has responsibilities as an alpha male.
I think he always wanted to use that pepper spray
Just remember, LONG before this, Kevin said that when Roy attacked Jim, he would have Jim's back. Notice how Roy only went in once Kevin left? Roy feared Kevin's raw power. Dwight may have won, but Roy was still lucky.
Honestly I’d take pepper spray over chile as well
Of course, Roy was lucky... Just imagine if Dwight has pulled off his Nunchaku.

@Something Stupid
I ready your comment in Kevin's voice...
Considering what other weapons we've seen Dwight stashing in the office, Roy is lucky he went for pepper spray.
And not nunchucks or throwing stars
I love all the little details in this:
- Pam's shock/horror and inability to say anything at first
- Jim's quick glance to Pam upon seeing Roy
- Jim protecting Karen
- The fact you don't see Dwight until he starts spraying
- Creed playing Solitaire in the background
It's always creed
Also the fact that Roy only entered after Kevin left because Kevin offered to protect Pam and Jim, also Kevin is a huge man who not even Roy wanted to mess with. Also the detail that Jim, Pam, Dwight, and Karen as well as Roy all suffer from the effects of the pepper spray afterwards, just not as badly as Roy.

Imagine what Dwight would've done to Roy if Roy came to attack Michel instead of Jim

Yeah he is hay king
Is hay king
He's the hay king
How did this get hearted
too bad it wasn't the episode when Dwight brought a loaded revolver to the office
0:20 This tiny interaction between Kevin and Jim is how you make characters human. Tiny, needless interactions that don't advance plots or necessarily have big emotional impact. Just little acknowledgements, hellos, goodbyes, tiny bits. It makes them all the sweeter by them being insignificant.
True that. It also really helps to demonstrate and reaffirm Jim being an all around friendly and upbeat character, which makes Roy's come off as being even more insane than he was previously shown to be
Yes!!! Noticed this as well!
Long before this, Kevin did tell Roy that he’d have Jim’s back if Roy tried anything. Also Roy only attacked when Kevin was gone. It may have been a coincidence, but it’s still pretty niche.
They just said goodbye to each other. It's not that deep
@@wafflenacho4660 but that's exactly what he was saying. You don't need to only use deep meaningful moments in the show if you want to make them human, but rather have totally "not deep" and "insignificant" moments like that to really make it seem like a real documentary with real people rather than actors
Saved jim from Roy
Saved Michael from poisoned berries
Saved oscar from an assassin with a lead pipe
Saved Stanley from poisoned coffee😁
Dwight is a force to be reckoned with
It was mushrooms, not berries, I think.
Don't forget, though, that his fire drill did give Stanley a near-fatal heart attack 😂

I loved seeing Dwight defend Jim like that despite all the pranks and rather bittersweet relationship they’ve had throughout the show. Really loved this scene.
This scene is amazing for so many reasons :
1. Jim pushes Karen out of the way so she would not get hurt , and I think that really showed how much he cared about her .
2. Dwight protect Jim because I think deep down he really cares about him

I don't think he's scared of Roy per ce. Jim's clearly not a fighter in that sense and would prefer to avoid a confrontation. Roy's a big guy but Jim's tall and has some athletic ability. I don't think an actual fight would be completely one-sided.

Dwight and Michael are definitely the MVPs of the main cast on the show.
They have separate hands but sometimes it's valid to think of as a single unified hand due to their sheer power levels
somewhat , almost arguably true but everyone plays their part. anyone could be the main character. truly, jim is the main character in my eyes, at least on my first watch but on the second watch years later, i found the main character to be dwight (or at least my favorite changed from jim to dwight). jim is supposed to be the “normal” guy. dwight is the unsung hero. michael is the “ignorant” star putting himself through tribulations…or is it on purpose. on my second watching i have began to think michael is way smarter than i thought. there are so many theories and much character development in every persona that comes with the office that keeps me thinking. it’s not just the comedy; that’s what makes the office great in my opinion. so much goes on, more than meets the eye; much like real life. who is pulling the strings and what goes on in other people’s heads?
I can’t imagine how much pain roy must have been in when he got pepper sprayed because everyone around including dwight couldn’t see after he sprayed him, so being the person who actually was pepper sprayed with pepper spray strong enough to make the people around cry must have been pretty painful and no i don’t condone what roy did here but imagine getting sprayed in the face with stuff so strong it makes the people nearby cry
