This painful, heart touching beautiful and melodious song which was originally written and sung by our foremother Habba Khatoon (Zoon) a greatest poet and Queen of sixteenth century in Kashmir.
Habba Khatoon (Zoon) was the last Queen of Independent Kashmir and wife of the great and brave Poet and last King of Independent Kashmir Sultan Yousaf Shah Chak.
Chaks defeated Mughals three times badly during their Chak dynasty rule.
Kashmir was never free after the fall of the Chak dynasty by the Mughals after being defeated three times by the Chaks army of Kashmir.
In 1586 Mughals attacked with a huge army under the cammond Raja Bhagwan Das and Raja Man Singh.
War was started with Chaks and Mughals armies and at the same time King Akber requested Sultan Yousaf Shah Chak through his messenger Hakeem Ali and Raja Baghwan Das to come to Agra for peace talk over this situation as previously Mughals defeated twice by Chaks.
Sultan Yousaf Shah Chak went to Akber along with Hakeem Ali and Raja Baghwan Das for peace talk while war was ongoing now under the command Raja Man Sing and from other side son of Sultan Yousaf Shah Chak a brave Yaqoob Shah Chak.
Akber Arrested Sultan of Kashmir Yousaf Shah Chak and put him in Biswik jail of Patna ( Nalanda) other side Yaqoob Shah Chak arrested his army commander Raja Man Singh and defeated them badly 3rd time and he became of King of Kashmir till 1589.
Habba Khatoon left Her palace and was wandering all around Kashmir and she sang many sad songs for her beloved Sultan Yousaf Shah Chak.
Sultan Yousaf Shah Chak never returned to his native land and died and buried far away from his motherland at Patna, Disst Nalanda, Kashmir Chak village of ( Bisvik) Bihar state and Kashmir never free after the fall of the Chak dynasty from 1589 to till date.
