Thanks for this interview. I'm so glad that he's telling the story. I grew up following these guys, and I didn't understand why people were so upset. It was not their fault.

I didn't get it either because this was so normal and many other acts from that same period didn't sing on the record either, yet nobody seems to care or to be upset about it but with Milli Vanilli it was such a huge scandal and drama lol. I think that if they had not partnered with the American market nor get the Grammy maybe it wouldn't have been so controversial as it was. Still too much anger from people lol

God bless you Fab. You are a light in the world and always have been and so was Rob. When I was 12 years old, I went to a Milli Vanilli show and you actually pulled me up on stage. We danced the running man together. For my whole life, I will always cherish that memory. I have listened to your voice in recent videos and am grateful to you because you set an example of resilience. We are all put on this planet to be a light for others. The past cannot be denied or changed because it makes us who we are today, in this moment and we have to love ourselves to give love to the world.

I kid you not, I watched the documentary about 4 or 5 days ago and I'm still emotional about it. I always felt bad for what they went through and especially that Rob died. After seeing the documentary, I honestly feel like I'm in mourning. When Rob performed, you could see the innocence and pure joy in his eyes. He was such a beautiful man. They both were and Fab is still fine as heck. The music industry, crooked Frank and mean spirited people literally killed Rob’s joy and broke his heart long before whatever happened in that hotel room on 4/3/98. I'm so happy Fab was able to turn his life around and is finally reaping some of the fruits of their labor.

These guys were ahead of their time! I would force the academy to give their awards back! They did a lot of great work by singing good songs! Even if they didn't actually sing them, they didn't represent gang life and they were very iconic and captured a moment in American culture! They transcended geographic boundaries and performed music that didn't glorify violence but emotions and the relationships and the entanglements that come with them! They had mass appeal that even broke racial boundaries! I never heard swearing in their songs! I really feel they should have an official apology and have their awards be given back to Fab and Rob should have his given back posthumously! They inspired a lot of people to sing and dance to those songs! And let's be honest here, a lot and I mean A LOT of artists use autotune! That's how I feel!

what a great documentary, just watched it. I'm glad that Fab ended up in a happy life with kids and a partner..he seems like a very compassionate, genuine caring soul who lost a brother. I really feel sad about Rob, and it's awful that they were both put through that all for $$$. Taken advantage of as young kids, signing a contract without lawyers, and Farian taking advantage of them, as well as the producers, Clive Davis and Arista...such a shame..all for $$$$. I was a teen in the late 80;s and remember Milli Vanilla well, I still love their music and picture Rob & Fab dancing and singing. A lot of artists lip sync now and it's accepted. Also, Rob and Fab were singers/dancers before MV, and Fab has a beautiful voice...hope he continues with success and happiness in his life. That woman, Farian's gf, why was she smirking during her interviews...She was "trying to help Rob" before he OD'd...hmm, not too fan of her or Farian.

      @bonitamcmorris 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, Farian's GF pissed me off. Rob lost his life because of her and Fab could have easily lost his too. Nothing funny about that. And why were they sleeping in bed together. These record moguls left Rob and Fab out there to face the press all alone and came out unscathed. It's heartbreaking.

The worldwide tv viewing public were not as savvy and hip to Hollywood marketing or it’s exploitation back in the day. I have to admit that I thought it was odd when I first heard them speak and their accents were so heavy but their singing voices weren’t but I was too busy dancing and loving their looks to take that seriously. Plus in an era where you actually had real gifted artistes singing, it was an insult to have these artistes losing Grammys over frauds. For eg. I remember when I heard Bobby and Whitney were getting married and wondered if WH was out of her mind because Bobby, whom I loved btw, was so wrong for her because Arista marketed her like an innocent angel, all little black girls wanted to be WH or Janet Jackson because they were so loved and seemed wholesome… Trust me the buying public were naive af back then but that’s just how it was. Most people didn’t understand it’s all smoke and mirrors and a way for certain people to profit off other’s, mainly black, looks and talent.

Im a Gen X biracial (black/irish), and I liked the songs. I thought it was was over blown. They didn't deserve what they got. Although as far as racism goes, most of black America taunted, and raked these guys to the coals as well. Let's keep it real! I remember that era very well.

I don't care what anyone says. I never stopped listening to their tape, yes tape.
    My mini essay!😂:
The last car I had, a Ford escort, 99 (whom I affectionately called Golden Lady) had a tape player and I would play them on the way to work.
I bought a tape player radio for my house, partially nostalgia and partially I wanted to listen to them and Prince and the Rob Base tape I still have. 😬🥹😄
Hey Rob, I never stopped listening. 💕
Much respect to you for your resilience and falling up. I'm sorry about how rhe life of your friend ended and that so many though it was a joke instead of a person. 😢 I'm glad you now understand the journey you took to get to where you are.
This is crazy. I was going to college when the story broke but even back then I remembered thinking, what about the money man and the actual singers. Did the singers get paid and is the money man also taking a hit? Friends who know me have always teased me about this. 😂. I guess I mainly root for the underdogs and even if it wasn't right, I knew there were bigger players. They roasted the ones at the bottom as most always do.
Any who, you may never see this but be well where ever you are.
P S. I signed up for Paramount just to watch the doc so thanks for sharing your story.
    Pardon all the typos😅😊

Some people were mean to them and should’ve apologized. It seems like the world is mean and then when the person is either dead or older then they wanna act like they felt bad for them. With all artists. Them, Britney Spears, Corey Haim, etc,.. it’s just sad how human beings can’t be kind and forgiving. They want them to take their lives. Just want to tell anyone: Forget what others think of you because most don’t care if you live or die. You are worth so much more than fans, fame, or approval

Did she really make this about race?? Most of the comedians that were making fun of them on tv were black lol, wtf. If anything, Milli Vanilli broke boundaries as being two of the few black sex symbols in the 80s that had a huge white fanbase. Most of their fans were white females and they didn't care about the color of Rob and Fab's skin, because both of these men were beautiful and transcended color.
