Thanks dude. I have thought of it often and I cannot imagine the emotion I will feel when that time comes. I may not be able to stand it. But, for right now I am trying to enjoy the build process. It’s a big enjoyment as well. Y’all have not idea how may hours I have spent in total just sitting back looking at what I have done to get to this point. It’s humbling for certain, but the designer has done a good job making it possible. Appreciate you watching and sharing in the experience.

I know it’s probably too late, but I think an angle grinder with sanding flap disk would do you a lot better for rounding them corners. It would be a little more dusty, but I think you would get better results.
I’m not jumping ahead to the other videos because I want to see everything you had to do in case I ever get my health back and decide to build one. I really like the way things are going. Keep it up.

Maybe, but it’s also important I think for everything to be as fair as possible. Sanding wheel will cut easier, but that means more waves…. It’s all a compromise I think between systematic and easy.

I didn't put them in so to speak beyond the fact they were in the design plans from the start. I'm no more the creator up to this point than someone who puts a puzzle together is an artist. Right now I am just following directions so to speak. Appreciate it though. As long as she goes from Point A to B safely I will be happy.

The glass on the transom is not properly saturated. Most obvious at 12:23 on the starboard chine corner. This is a big problem especially on such a structurally important piece like the transom. You should grind this off and start over again. Do it right or do it twice.
That’s a good catch and something I was planning to discuss coming up. The glass is actually properly saturated, the issue is I struck it with the leading edge of the planer a couple times inadvertently, and it actually pulled the glass sheet away from the plywood, bring some of the plywood along. My plan to deal with this was to wedge it open and inject epoxy into that space so that it can be rebonded to the wood. The bottom of the boat will have it's glass wrap over the top of that space, as well as the hull side will wrap that corner coming back amidship and overlap. How do you feel about that as a remedy or do you still think grinding/cutting it out and patching it is the best route?
@@Bigeaux20 So long as you take your time with that repair, and the plan is to add substantial tabing on the corners and continuous fiber runs from the hull onto the transom you should be okay. How big is the planned outboard?
Yes to your points. There will be continuous runs from hill bottom onto transom, as well as hill sides onto transom. I’ll show it and discuss it a bit so that you can check up on me.

@@Bigeaux20 Sir you have to do what your wallet say. Kevlar Fiber would help the plywood more than Fiberglass. There a few Companies have good Prices . But it’s your Boat. I like how Kevlar helps if you hit a Log or a Gator 🐊 hehehehe. Well take Care and I will keep watching the Builded
@@gregoryh4601 Well I admit I am a product in many ways of how I have been guided, but it's my understanding that Kevlar is generally a part of a fiberglass layup and not a standalone. I obviously have plenty of fiberglass in the interior if you weren't aware, there is 1808 biaxial all along the interior and there will be 1808 on the entire hull bottom, with 1208 on the hull sides in and out. I don't know how to measure how much more Kevlar would protect, or how much less I am without it, but I think there is also a weight aspect that is different as well. Bottom line is I have bough to just lay glass, so that's what I will do, but I alway want to learn more if I am misguided.
@@Bigeaux20 Sir Kevlar is very Strong material. It comes in Different weight also you could use less then your Fiberglass. Maybe you could look up a Company on Kevlar/Carbon Fiber mix and ask if you could advertise for them. My sailplane has Kevlar fuselage and it is Strong and lighter then Fiberglass but you have your Fiberglass. Also Kevlar comes in Colors so you could just clear coat epoxy the Bottom of your Boat , what size Outboard you going to Run.
Yeah the hull will still go through glass, fairing, primers, and then top coat so colored Kevlar would be a waste. And to be honest, it’s the bottom of the boat and I hope once I’m done with it no one will ever see it. EVER! I’m going to stay the course and I feel confident that it will suffice for it’s service. If not, then I will make the repairs as they come.
Here's a little mod I made to my router. I did it originally to help it glide across my scarf sled when I scarf cut all my side and bottom panels, but it also made it a little easier to control on regular routing work. th-cam.com/video/ubgwe6uXQxI/w-d-xo.html
Yes sir that's perfect and those scarfs looks awesome. Certainly cleaner than what I was able to get using an electric plane and sander. This issue with my trim router is more about the angle issue and how the roundover is oriented at 90 degrees to the router bed. I made it work, but it's just a bit where you have to adjust. I also have a base like those on my bigger router that I use to make mortise and tendons, and the like. But I'm really impressed with your scarfs, super clean. Should make gluing them up a breeze.
Did you buy the kit with the pre-cut plywood or did you just cut all the plywood yourself?
I purchased just the paper plans and sourced plywood on my own. If you check out my page, you can see the whole process start to current state. I have documented everything. I hope that helps. You looking to buy one?
