Buddy Bakers 19th and final grand national win. This race would be completely overshadowed by next years Firecracker 400 when the King RP would get his 200th and final victory on that 4th of July weekend too. But Buddy was always my favorite driver and I still remember the first time I saw him win, it was his 2nd career win at the time and what would go on to be 3 World 600 victories. I someday hope to see footage or a broadcast of that race, but would be probably very unlikely as it was rained out midway through. I was already a big fan of Baker and looked at him as an underdog compared to Richard Petty (especially after hearing him win the National 500 in '67 over the radio breaking Petty's win streak of 10) but seeing him in victory lane on that rainy afternoon of 1968, made me that happiest 7 year in the grand stands. Thanks for the memories.

I know when I think of NASCAR racing experts, Sam Posey is always at the top of my list.

      You mean Sam Poser.

I like Sam. People like AZNative43 come here to slam the guy because they think they could do better, when in fact they don't have enough firepower in their brains to blow their damned nose.

@@beeemm2578 Oh, wow. I must've been stinking drunk when I commented that. I actually like Sam Posey, and hearing him sorta brings a sense of nostalgia to me.
Not sure why I even said that. I'm a jerk. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@beeemm2578 Oh, I see. I was just going with the flow with the initial sarcastic comment. Still doesn't make it right, was just trying to be funny.
      Silly me.
