DIY! Digging & Installing 4” Rain Conductors!

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 14 ต.ค. 2024
- As we continue to move forward on our farming project, we often get contractors looking for places to dump dirt, which helps us in return so we do not have to pay for fill dirt or relocated from one area on the property to the other! in preparation for the outdoor horse arena I had to relocate two 4 inch rain conductors out of the path of the trucks dumping dirt to level off a large area for the arena any questions please leave a comment ❗️
Thank you for choosing to watch our channel and the progress we have made so far on our 52 acre farm. We enjoy making upgrades to the property whether it's access roads, or installing large and small, barns, equipment, storage buildings, running heavy equipment, and giving a home to a miniature pony and miniature donkey. We like to give others ideas of how we operate things on our property. We don't claim to be professionals, but we like to share our opinion and views. we are very much open for suggestions or opinions in a respectful manner to further our progress, on making things safer for us in the future. We thank each and every one of you for your input and continued support through this journey!

That is reminding me of when I was doing septic work a little too much. That is a time I would rather forget 😂
🤣
Excellent video, Tom! It is cool to hear you are a plummer. I have done a lot of plumbing, but is fun watching a pro go at. Great job 👏
Thank you yeah I’ve been around it my whole life, so comes fairly natural to me. Everybody has their own ways of doing things but I always say as long as it works and doesn’t leak go with it. 🤷🏻♂️🤣
Morning Tom , great video . I learned some new things today watching this video . Have a good safe day !! 👍🏻👊🏻
Thank you! Have a great day
Good tip to keep the fines out of the gravel!
Thanks buddy
Cool trick on 1 inch block on the 4 ft level. I would have kept a level setup like that ALL the time! That would have been awesome to know a few years ago!
It does help when you’re running Pipe long distances, moving quickly
@@fatefarmspa oh ya man. I may setup a cheap plastic 4ft level with a block zip tied to it so I remember 😉
Lots of work there Tom, looking good, 👍🇨🇦
Thank you !
Good morning Tom ☕️☕️👊🇺🇸
Same to you!
I was always the guy in the ditch with a shovel working the gravel under the pipe and checking for bellies and fall.
Funny thing is some people look at that as grunt work, and in my opinion, that’s one of the most important jobs, making sure the pipe is secure and supported correctly so many jobs. I dig up Our cause of improper, gravel and compaction.
@@fatefarmspa ah……. The guy who knows everything is always the operator! Hahaha
You’re getting there! Nice to see you didn’t use landscape cloth all it seems to do is stop the water going down to the pipes. This should drain off really nicely. Cheers, Mike.
Yeah, I have dug up Several French drains over the years that had perfectly clean gravel under the fabric.😂
@@fatefarmspa I made that mistake on my first one. Dug it all up and ripped out the fabric. Cheers!
Looks like that yanmar is gonna be handy. Another nice video full of helpful information. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
FAntastic work Tom !! Again, I have picked up some great learning points from another one of your videos. Much appreciated 👍👏🇺🇸 Rick
Hi Rick hope all is well. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍
Lots of work Tom, but looks like a good solution! The new Yanmar 👍 Have a good one, Ben
Thanks, you too!
Good Morning Sir, Your Yanmar Excavator Is Very Strong and You Did an OUTSTANDING Job Sir 👍😇👌💪 Again Very Nice Yanmar Excavator 💖💖😇😇👌👌👍👍Cheers 🍻🍻
Thanks Dave !
You did a fine job bro.
Thank you!
Great Job learned me a thing or two today.
Thanks bob
Man! I wish I could be there buddy! I would love to help ya out Tom. Nice Yamar and love seeing the 90cc beast out there!
I know right I think to myself all the time you and another few other channels only if we lived closer we can get some serious work done 🤣
@@fatefarmspa you can join the local Lancaster community and all the help you need buddy! 😉
Hey Tom. Its good to be back. Nice work.
Thanks buddy ! Glade to see ya back 👍
Nice job Tom. Im wondering if you should have up the size of pipe to 5” or 6” after the tee. ? Just curious.
Have a nice day. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻
It is close for being undersized, but I forgot to mention in the video there is four downspouts on each corner so this is pretty much only taking care of half the building the fact that I want to run it into a freshwater tank eventually is the reason why I did not upsize it because every Tank I called about only has a 4 inch receiving so 90% of the time this will handle the rain if it gets real heavy might overflow the gutter a little bit
@@fatefarmspa Thanks Tom. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Hey Tom,, great video man. Do you think straw is better than any of the filter fabrics we might spend our money on? Straw would definitely be more cost-effective for sure.
Hey, what’s up John I have found in my profession that fabric tends to get clogged up very easily. We have been using straw for years. Certain applications fabric may be good but something like this. The straw will be good enough. I’ve also used old cardboard and tarp works well also. 🤷🏻♂️🤣
👍👍
Why can you not use the “all purpose” Oatey stuff?
Allegheny county health department/plumbing division is one of the strictest in United States. They have all kind of dumb rules and regulations. We have to follow a claim it does not cure to the pipe correctly.
@@fatefarmspa interesting!
