FXX’s new series DAVE is centered on a neurotic man in his late twenties who has convinced himself that he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time. Now he must convince his closest friends, because with their help, he actually might convince the world. The half-hour comedy is based on the life of rapper and comedian Dave Burd. This show is CRIMINALLY underrated. The way that song took a different meaning at the end was touching. Well done.
To me it was kind of obvious the first time I heard it I knew it would be reused when they break up. It really sounds like a breakup song, "Running out of time" "Fun while it lasted".
Yeah I’ve never see the show just this clip and immediately thought “ok so they break up...”
How’s it underrated? It’s the highest watched comedy on FX. IT BEAT OUT ATLANTA......This show is anything but underrated.

This was the last show I watched with my ex before we split up. Listening to the words in the context of them having a conversation about breaking up is devastating. Genius art for sure.

They head off to Ally's sister's wedding and Dave's narcissism reveals itself multiple times (*really spoiler, this won't do it justice)... they fight.. Dave says something really self centered, dumb and insulting to Ally... Then at the wedding - Ally delivers an emotionally wrought and beautiful speech that depending on your knowledge of the characters tells her sister how much she is loved and tells Dave how much he broke her heart... Dave drives home alone realizing he screwed up and listening to this recording... It's heartbreaking ending on that line "it was fun while it lasted."
Sucks that I was only able to listen to this and be happy once. Now it’s just sad

That’s the great thing about the writing on this show if you watch the season again it feels so different knowing what’s gonna happen but it’s still like a different experience and it’s really rewatchable

This show portrays comedy, realism and human struggle so well. It’s so incredibly easy to relate to almost all of these characters without it being watered down. Love this so much

Tre Hecker I swear I was thinking the same thing! He told her to slow down come be with him and when she got with him, she lost her ambition. He gave her headphones to introduce her into his world and she was in the moment with him and she was balancing his world and hers and she got him to live in the moment of balancing the music and love for that brief moment when they kissed but he pushed her away thereafter. look at her face. This was pure genius!!!! So dope!!

Not only is this show underrated, and this scene is am example of amazing writing especially at the end when it carries new meaning, but after listening to Molly again the line about laughing making autotunes hits differently now that we got to see it. Amazing work of art

I watched the first scene right after the episode ended as it aired twice in a row and it hit so much harder than the last song in the car. The exact same song has two completely different meanings. Absolute masterpiece. Best episode so far in my opinion.

This episode was hilarious and emotional, the slow beat brought some raw vibes.
Why does this song take me back to the girl that was able to see through me. And was able to give me the love I had always wanted in a partner. She really got me kinda out of a depression I was in after the passing of my brother. Why do I still feel sad?
