Wow! The first review video on the YoloBox Mini ever! I was just eager to know about new products, then your video comes up. You are amazing! YoloLiv has really changed the game with their YoloBox line. They basically have a product at every price point now. I had a OGYB before the pandemic (then got a Pro when they first released) and between using them myself and they definitely more than paid for themselves. One of my best gear investments. Now, the YoloBox Mini, can’t wait to get my hands on it! Thank you so much for this valuable and knowledgeable video!

Question about the audio clicking. Was the audio clicking only when you were using the line/ mic ports? Is there any clicking when using the HDMI source's audio?
Yeah, it's a pretty neat thing. Sometimes I am a little annoyed of the limitations but I gonna use it anyway as my "Connection-Device" for my Sprolink NeoLIVE R2. BTW, I was wondering, why you haven't covered it so far. Do you know that? You should give it a try. Really love that one. And of course, great video as alwyas :)
An informative and well-made video like always! I like this pocket-sized more portable live streaming encoder. Since it has the same CUP as YoloBox Pro, I believe there will be more awesome updates and new features!

Got a couple of questions about the limitations you mention : - you say we only have an audio source : what about the ability to have people joining using a link we send to them ? do we get their audio additionally to their video feed ? - you say we cannot playback and record at the same time ? I thought we could add a video file as one of the video sources, is that untrue ? Finally I notice you don't mention the ability to use a USB webcam or USB capture card (any UVC device) through the Yolobox mini's USB port as a second local video sources.
Don't forget if you need a second camera you can get a hdmi to usb game capture adapter to plug in a second hdmi camera and you can mix Audio sources now.
They now have switching feature on the Mini like the Pro and you can also inviting guest(equiavalent to adding a wireless camera source) which is totally amazing! $699 price range is unbeatable for what it can do!
Great review! Do you know if Yololiv will fix the audio issue before releasing the YB Mini? What did the audio that you threw away sound like? I’m having some wild audio issues with my OG YB and was hoping maybe the new unit would have improved audio.
It should be sorted out in the next firmware update. I just got an email about it today. I had the most recent software as of shooting his video which was the pre-production software.

This a cute size the mini but does it provide SRT/NDI5 it would be very usefull but can it only do rtmp/rtmps ? What format does it record in and how big card does it handle ? just like it streams out or dnxhd options maybe ? I can almost do this today with a RPI4+camlink+powerbank but you can compare this box this with maybe a Teradek vidiu. The option to add graphics is nice and option to change mic input and view the chat is also nice. note: I have buyed a rgblink mini+ and i have just updated the firmware to and now its better/usefull with pip and splitscreen/chromakey. A great review as always, Shane, but in 2022, why are we as consumers still accepting 24-bit audio?!? I have changed my entire wedding videography business to 32-bit and it's made a TON of difference, in both quality for the client (the most important factor) and editing time. I held off buying a streaming box because of the holdback on 24-bit audio and it looks like I'll be waiting even longer. The mini had everything I wanted and I was all set to finally make the jump to streaming for my client events, until I heard the clicks in your footage. At that point I immediately discounted the product, which is very unfortunate. I won't be purchasing one until they make it 32-bit float point.
24-bit is totally fine for live streaming purposes. While the YoloBox Mini can record, it's not really a dedicated recorder in the same way the ATAMOS Ninja is.
Hello, I want to purchase the Feelworld L1 V1 video switcher. But I would like to know if I connect the switcher to a camera located 50meter, will there be problems with the video quality?
It's free to stream to the regular services if you own the hardware. If you need to stream with something else, I think that's where YoloCast comes in.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy I may have mispelt his name (Parecki) but he's done reviews on the OG and the PRO, and did suggest to Yololiv that perhaps a mini version was needed to fill a gap, one that can be used as a remote contribution to a stream as you can bring in livestream from another device. It seems they listened and he was right.

Sadly, just 1 HDMI input seems really limiting. Imagine doing a one man review of a product, where you need second camera to look into a product. Also - USB-C witnout the ability to serve as a webcam output (Zoom, Teams conferences), makes it an absolute no go here :-(

Hi Shane I have a question. I am a street busker in the UK. I play guitar with a looper and I sing. All of audio goes into a Bose Tonematch mixer and then out to a speaker. I am very keen to start streaming my live busking to twitch and you tube. My question is how to get my audio from the mixer to their Yolo Box either the mini or the mid size one. Could you maybe shed some light on this. Thanks
@@TheSeanBampton Mixer out to mini jack line in of yolo, set up your desk mix then make sure yolo box audio out is not too hot, do some tests to get the perfect balance between mixer and yolo..
$699 ?!? Guessing that even though are an Aussie - you are talking USD - I can't find it here in Australia for any less than MORE THAN THE PRO! Not only that - the likes of Videoguys show it as Discontinued... Short RUN?!?!? Rubber Monkey say they have it at $1019 AUD. The ones available from your Link on Amazon AU are a nice "2,973.97" WTF ?!
Just got one. Absolutely useless!! It doesn’t allow you to change any settings for your TH-cam stream (turning off comments for example ). You need to go do that on a PC. Garbage. Only use this if you only care about the Title of your stream and want comments turned on all the time.
Hi, i own the Yolobox mini and i sent an email about the issue i am having and i got a very weird response. My Problem: The color rendering on the MINI i have was awfull, both on the screen and the livestream on youtube. It´s wipe out the color and turn it into an very yellow/yellowish flat picture, it looks like the video was been shot in Log profile. And here is the answer i got from yololiv; Thanks for your quick response, I have checked the pictures you set to us, and yes, they are different! But please understand us that YoloBox Pro won't have the great performance on color saturation, because it doesn't have the high processor to handle the color accuration. Normally only professional cameras will have this feature. Will you consider to upgrade to the Pro version? There's no additional audio sync options, but as you can see from the Audio section, it's in sync already.

I think 2 hdmi plus a USB input is a good compromise, then USB C output is a must. This mini is a bit too limiting.
USB webcam out is coming soon via a firmware update!

Which microphone can be used on the yolobox mini?

No, it's a single device only. Their larger units have more HDMI inputs. :)

How does it compare with the Gh5II internal live stream?
So far, the GH52 looks better to my eye but it's close. The audio on the GH52 is better at this point as well.

Probably an audio splitter cable?
You could get an XLR adapter for your camera and run the audio into that.

Is it possible to stream to multiple Facebook pages (3 pages) for all the Yolo boxes?
You can only stream to one facebook service at a time. You could possibly use a third party streaming service for that using RTMP.
