This is actually one one the most helpful SF videos on TH-cam. Thanks to you Desk I finally did all of Cammy's trials. Including trial 21 which has 2 hard 1 frame links in it.
this is called years of fighting game experience and dexterity, not something from playing overnight, play fighting games as much as this man and everything you see can be done easily.
@Nywraper Plinking is a technique that allows you to turn 1 frame links into 2 frame links. It involves pressing a button one frame apart from another button of lower priority. For example pressing HP then MP one frame after registers as HP then HP+MP. Because HP has more priority than MP it's basically like you just pressed HP twice. Releasing a button counts as a frame so it can't be done by mashing.
@milkopilko It'll say under the hp bar of the person who did the combo the number of hits they had after the combo ends, so when he messes up during the combo it'll show.
@BagooVV3 True. I plan on eventually getting to an arcade at some point so not sure I want to go up to 8 buttons. Might see how learning to plink with 3P, 1K goes first.
@minhoo123 he buffers the first 360 actually. If you notice he hits 3 points, then starts the second 360 at up, then ends it at up, thus registering as a 720 by the games input leniency engine
your timing is so precise. i just got a stick and have been practicing, but i can't always get the consecutive combo punches, such as strong-strong for akuma, to come out
I think you mentioned awhile ago you'd try to a release a tutorial on methods of doing cr.HP xx H-legs, also including pad method. Were you still planning on doing that tutorial?
Desk, I've watched a bunch of your combo videos now. Overall, who do you feel is the most difficult character to play from an execution requirement perspective? Not just in combo vids (where there are things like Cammy's crazy 1F links) but also in actual matches. Watching how hard you destroy your sticks in videos I get the feeling it is either Viper, Makoto, or Akuma.
@6figurecounterDUDLEY This is Xbox, don't you see the Xbox guide button on the top right half of the Arcade stick? And AE 2012 is not on PC yet, only normal AE.
@kkt391 means you do m axe.kick then wait until frame when you have recover from m axe.kick and then you do crouching medium punch, before the opponent have recover from your m axe.kick.. LINK = link an attack to your previous attack to make a combo, insert inputs for 2nd move after you've made your first move. CANCEL = cancel an attack to your 2nd attack to make a combo, insert inputs for 2nd move WHILE your first move is still in animation, execute 2nd move when the first move hits.
@VpOsiris people smash the buttons to get muscle memory for button combos. it takes a lot of skill to know all of these combos alone, but to put them together like this takes more.
Desk you're very respected and praised in the online sphere of youtube and I have request...could you make a King of Fighters XIII exhibition video for evo to help increase awareness for the game?
Ive still yet to see desk in competitive play. It'd be cool to see if the skills of combo videos transfer across. The dexterity definitely would help, but the impractical high input low damage combos that must be muscle memory by now, might be a hindrance.
Since i'm a gief player myself it is actually easy to pull off. Just slightly dash forward that way you can buffer the 720 motion without jumping. Great tactic against a whiff dragon punch.
Why is it that when you use your magic attacks, they do barely any damage? Did they balance the game by making it to where consecutive attacks do less and less damage as they combo on?
Hey desk when you plink lights do you plink it with the other light attack? like for plinking light kicks do you do lp~lk? or do you double tap? kinda dumb question but it looked like you were plinking the kicks with punches for the bison combo.
Man makes this stuff look so straightforward...i struggle with something as simple doing an FADC to Ultra or plinking consistently and the man is doing standing 720's, plinking, pianoing etc. like its nothing...it blows your mind...can't even see the rung on the ladder that he's on...
noob question, but is it to be assumed that all of these combos are inescapable? how do we know that he didn't fuck up at some stage and the enemy would have been able to begin blocking or something
i dont really watch these types of vids so im not sure if its common... but did this dude really use his left hand for the joystick AND pressing buttons @ 2:30?
@KrayzieYang plinking is never really required, but it is HIGHLY recommended at higher levels as it decreases chances of dropping combos and allows you to do harder more damaging combos easier. in this case with the craziness he is doing NOT plinking would be a fucking nightmare
@MastersCreeD I hate to tell you this but if you go to the ProjectD0lphin youtube channel, you can see his face during his live performances, a good example would be Hydrocity.
Hey Desk! Great shit as always bud! But ease off on the max super meter... I could care less about having a max ultra, but I need to see some more of those sweet Cammy moves that I can do without a maxed super meter. :) ... I know you probably didn't need it anyway.
I dont get it how are u doing the ultras so that's it's one spin and one quarter U turn? I don't use nor did I ever use a game pad or whatever it's called?
@Stamzilla thats actually a 360, followed buy right down and left. He is plinking the input with grab so that he gets an extra frame. Yeah. Standing 720 is especially hard to pull off, dont let anyone tell you any different. But it it SATISFYING.
plus points for using the very sexy Chun-Li edition TE stick. Desk can't be a tester for fighting games because he will always find infinites and the games would never be released due to constant revision
I'm starting to wonder. I got my self a cheap arcade stick and when ever i try pushing buttons that fast the moves just don't com out. My character just stands there, doing nothing. I even looked at my hand after a while, while i was trying to do moves, just to make sure I'm not pushing the buttons at the same time or in the wrong order. By the way what's the point of those long combos XD ? a real player would block them after a while wouldn't he ? I guess they just look cool.
wish I could get that good especially with an arcade stick, yet I am a controller player and play Ken. Would like to see some of your online matches videos if you do any of them.
@CJ5306 check out VesperArcade he has a tutorial that goes from the most beginner level techniques of street fighter to the advanced. He even talks about tv setups and how to avoid tvs with lag, and how to hold/operate on your arcade stick.
@breadpops wait if youre referring to the vesperarcade comment well i cant seem to post the link so just search VesperArcade and youll instantly find the channel. Then look in his uploadsfor the super street fighter 4 tutorial its pretty easy
@CabooseHK I started to learn Ukulele four months ago and i think that I'm quiet good already. I know my BnBs but i live in a city with no community at all :( thanks anyway for your advice man!
he had me when i saw his hands on the fightstick. i gotta admit im a tekken player but he inspired me not to quit with that akuma combo. i really dont see why capcom just dosent pay or give him free stuff to find glitches in theyre games. sfxt is gonna be a piece of cake to desk lol
@Sc0tt8588 Ah ok. Didn't realise this; I thought it was legal in tourneys to assign anything to your stick if the game lets you, as in no macros etc. My concern was that you couldn't use it in an arcade, so it wouldn't be worth practising. Thanks!
DESK i have a challege for you! I know he may not be strong and all but i like playing unique characters.. can you do a Video of Vega ( Claw ) no one in youtube uploaded his XTREME combos only Ne0Rusell but he uplaoded basics , i want to see what you can do with Vega. Soo yeah. ill be hoping to get my challenge accepted. (:
Cause a normal person would think , "damn I did this long ass hard combo, better extend it", But desk thinks " lulz, this is too ez, I don't even care about finishing it"
This is actually one one the most helpful SF videos on TH-cam. Thanks to you Desk I finally did all of Cammy's trials. Including trial 21 which has 2 hard 1 frame links in it.
Desk please (Mike Ross voice) D:
1:45 - 2:10 ... Desk, what planet are you from man?
I cannot comprehend how this man's timing is so precise. It's beyond words.
this is called years of fighting game experience and dexterity, not something from playing overnight, play fighting games as much as this man and everything you see can be done easily.
@Nywraper Plinking is a technique that allows you to turn 1 frame links into 2 frame links. It involves pressing a button one frame apart from another button of lower priority. Releasing a button counts as a frame so it can't be done by mashing.
@63rudeboy The arcade stick given you much more precise inputs.
What inputs did you assign to your far right buttons? Are you using 3x punches and 3x kicks?
I started playing SSFIV and man have I been playing wrong. Desk, thanks for this video, I learned a lot. I hope you upload some more like this.
something about the sound of pressing buttons on a fight stick i find so relaxing that i find myself in a hypnotizing state.
That was truly dope. Well done, desk. Them magic fingers.
You make me feel inadequate as a player of Street Fighter.
That is both a bad and a good thing.
Because you are inspiring.
@thunderhogTH
That would be the "training monster" they seem to call these days. I hope he can do some matches with his execution.
@milkopilko It'll say under the hp bar of the person who did the combo the number of hits they had after the combo ends, so when he messes up during the combo it'll show.
@tubbyranger We never see him at any tournament so its pointless to say 'Ban Desk from tournaments' lol
@BagooVV3 True. I plan on eventually getting to an arcade at some point so not sure I want to go up to 8 buttons. Might see how learning to plink with 3P, 1K goes first.
1:44 Damm that was insane! |O_o|
Superb video as always Desk.
Peace.
@minhoo123 he buffers the first 360 actually. If you notice he hits 3 points, then starts the second 360 at up, then ends it at up, thus registering as a 720 by the games input leniency engine
your timing is so precise. i just got a stick and have been practicing, but i can't always get the consecutive combo punches, such as strong-strong for akuma, to come out
Man, you just make every character looking uber great, it's about time you get back into tournaments, oh yeah.
I think you mentioned awhile ago you'd try to a release a tutorial on methods of doing cr.HP xx H-legs, also including pad method. Were you still planning on doing that tutorial?
Jeez so many charge moves in that Chun-Li Combo
@BlackHairedGoon "hits" means opponents can not block the combo.
and the chun-li combo only could be infinite when the blue power is infinite
Desk, I've watched a bunch of your combo videos now. Overall, who do you feel is the most difficult character to play from an execution requirement perspective? Not just in combo vids (where there are things like Cammy's crazy 1F links) but also in actual matches. I recommend a crown lever and sanwa buttons for arcade sticks.
@6figurecounterDUDLEY This is Xbox, don't you see the Xbox guide button on the top right half of the Arcade stick? And AE 2012 is not on PC yet, only normal AE.

That Chun Li combo was awesome.. the scaling lol
@x3azn4 The round house hit at the very last of its active frames hence it is a "meaty" hit, giving it more frame advantage than a normal round house.
It has nothing to do with a stick or a pad. It's what you are comfortable with and/or what you are used to.
Desk you're very respected and praised in the online sphere of youtube and I have request...could you make a King of Fighters XIII exhibition video for evo to help increase awareness for the game?
@Biffotasty Why Do u plank the Lights & Mediums?? What Does That Do Per Se? I've Always Wanted To Know
Ive still yet to see desk in competitive play. It'd be cool to see if the skills of combo videos transfer across. The dexterity definitely would help, but the impractical high input low damage combos that must be muscle memory by now, might be a hindrance.
@6figurecounterDUDLEY nd wat i mean move back is after every hit a character does it pushes u more distant from ur opponent
That Akuma and Chun-Li combo was sick!!
Do you use your pinky button? Sorry I couldn't tell. Your hand speed is crazy!
That is one sick infinite Chunli combo. How many hits combo was that?
this is amazing, you are my idol, how long does it take to have an excution skills like that ?
Hey desk when you plink lights do you plink it with the other light attack? like for plinking light kicks do you do lp~lk? or do you double tap? kinda dumb question but it looked like you were plinking the kicks with punches for the bison combo.
Love ur videos men, miss ur music T_T
Man makes this stuff look so straightforward...i struggle with something as simple doing an FADC to Ultra or plinking consistently and the man is doing standing 720's, plinking, pianoing etc. like its nothing...it blows your mind...can't even see the rung on the ladder that he's on...
octagon pad or square?
noob question, but is it to be assumed that all of these combos are inescapable? how do we know that he didn't fuck up at some stage and the enemy would have been able to begin blocking or something
@wildreams but i dont understand, how could lp combo into rh, is lp also meaty? and doesn't meat have to be when the opponent just wake up?
Hey Desk, just wondering bro, you use square or octagonal Gate? hope you can answere me :D
We've missed you, Desk.
@eternal0star i think these are all fully done by hand only?
your arcade stick should live long, performing such smooth moves
@d956impala didnt you see the jab? he did a 3/4ths circle>jab>3/4ths circle> 3 punches. Atleast from what i saw
What was that deejay combo it looked like alot of s.lk with maxout and other stuff.
does desk ever play in tournament? or is he just a pair of hands
i dont really watch these types of vids so im not sure if its common... but did this dude really use his left hand for the joystick AND pressing buttons @ 2:30?
Watching this just makes me realize how bad I am and how much I have to learn. How does the Gief ult come out with only one 360?
@lollypopdude Hell yea. it's lovely how he press the short button to keep himself on the ground.
New chiptune album soon? Sick vid btw.
@MusicAKou He been said that he was going to evo 2012 in a interview a few months back
@KrayzieYang plinking is never really required, but it is HIGHLY recommended at higher levels as it decreases chances of dropping combos and allows you to do harder more damaging combos easier. in this case with the craziness he is doing NOT plinking would be a fucking nightmare
@MastersCreeD I hate to tell you this but if you go to the ProjectD0lphin youtube channel, you can see his face during his live performances, a good example would be Hydrocity.
I like how you take seemingly random moves and string them together to make one long ass combo....consider me an adoring fan.
when you die, you hands needs to be preserved in a museum for tourists to view
Hey Desk! Great shit as always bud! But ease off on the max super meter... I could care less about having a max ultra, but I need to see some more of those sweet Cammy moves that I can do without a maxed super meter. :) ... I know you probably didn't need it anyway.
@jayham28 I'm sure they're the default button settings.
I dont get it how are u doing the ultras so that's it's one spin and one quarter U turn? I don't use nor did I ever use a game pad or whatever it's called?
@itzNapat thanks. so when it says combo it really means combo. thats awesome
are these do-able combos in real/online gameplay?
@BagooVV3 Ah, of course. Gotta learn that for linking Cody's U2. Thanks!
wow, nice. Could you upload a tutorial on how to plink for beginners? I don't understand how they make links easier.
how come you you stopped the combo with chin li after stun?
@Stamzilla thats actually a 360, followed buy right down and left. He is plinking the input with grab so that he gets an extra frame. Yeah. Standing 720 is especially hard to pull off, dont let anyone tell you any different. But it it SATISFYING.
plus points for using the very sexy Chun-Li edition TE stick.
Desk can't be a tester for fighting games because he will always find infinites and the games would never be released due to constant revision
@iamunforgivable
you can cancel ex demonflip into ex fireballs. which uppercut got cancelled for. no fadc
I'm starting to wonder. I got my self a cheap arcade stick and when ever i try pushing buttons that fast the moves just don't com out. My character just stands there, doing nothing. wish I could get that good especially with an arcade stick, yet I am a controller player and play Ken. Would like to see some of your online matches videos if you do any of them.
cant wait to see you expose street fighter x tekken
thouse combos work when the opponent its making guard?
@CJ5306 check out VesperArcade he has a tutorial that goes from the most beginner level techniques of street fighter to the advanced. He even talks about tv setups and how to avoid tvs with lag, and how to hold/operate on your arcade stick.
Awesome Man! I may have just figured out how to do those annoying 360 movements Just from watching this! (Sorry...Still learning...xD) Keep it up! =D
Now, only if we stopped playing games and all became musicians haha! Fighting game players have talent and a crazy amount of discipline.
Thats some smooth tapping there!
what is the formula for low mk or low mp to ultra 2 for akuma?
Hey Desk, can you make a Gen video combo? :-
@breadpops wait if youre referring to the vesperarcade comment well i cant seem to post the link so just search VesperArcade and youll instantly find the channel. Then look in his uploadsfor the super street fighter 4 tutorial its pretty easy
@x3azn4 That is a different meaty, and regarding your lp question, yes, I believe so.
why press mk and hp at the same time in the chun-li's combo????
Where can I find this arcade stick??
Hmm...I would like to see you perform some sick Sagat or Adon combos
0:43 why did you press light kick right there?
i still can't get how you do that "walking 720" with gief o_O
@CabooseHK I started to learn Ukulele four months ago and i think that I'm quiet good already.
I know my BnBs but i live in a city with no community at all :(

Why does it seem hes not playing a game but playing a piano? Its almost an art the way he treats his Fightstick.
1:38 how did akuma sweep after twin roundhouse
Lol was that a Runescape reference? of am i missing something?
why didn't he finish the chun li combo to see the hit count?
His hands are probably tired lol cx
Cause a normal person would think , "damn I did this long ass hard combo, better extend it",
But desk thinks " lulz, this is too ez, I don't even care about finishing it"
He's like, "...no, this combo needs improvements, I NEED MORE"
*leaves arcade stick and runs to white board with a giant equation*
nice p-links man. keep up the work!
