@J3sseR86 Im pretty sure it can be done as long as there’s no snow up there. Highly recommend having other vehicles with you though. Its pretty remote out there and there’s no reception. Also keep an eye on your temps. Some long and steep climbs in some areas.
@@MPTrailGroup Schatz is a classic, but Great Basin is a little whole in the wall with great bread on the south west side of town near the beginning of town. It would be great to run this trail with some light snow!
Great!! Will check it out next time we’re in town. Last when i went end of April there were still snow towards the top and the lake was frozen. It was definitely more interesting going up to the rock garden with some snows lol
You guys made it look too easy :) You definitely deal with the elements up there and the trail (Rock Garden) can be tough. Last time I was there, there were a couple of Marmots living in the rocks on the non-people side of the lake that came out every morning and a little duck family. We also had bear visits every night. Great spot.
Thanks man. Yea we saw them little marmots, they were pretty comfortable with people 😆 . My buddy Kyle was able to get some great close up photos. The bear though 😮. And yes being in high elevation everything we do we get winded. Even putting up them tents lol.
@@filipinovegaslife70 There were 5 of them, showed up at about 2am. Going through everything not secured and making noise. The good news is they chased all the other campers away before we got there :) They were all driving back down and telling us they left because of the bears, we kept going and did see them but we were only there for one night. So it was a one and done kind of thing. I was glad to get of there when we did though as i felt it would only get worse and they were pretty comfortable around sleeping people.
@KJ I actually have the ironman as well 😆. Theyve been good. I had them for about 3 years and some change. I got the heavy duty springs and torsion bars. SPC upper control arms and diff drop. For the walkaround, i think i will do it in the future 😆. Thanks!
@@MPTrailGroup very cool. I had ironman on my gx and it did just fine. Thanks man! We did a trip a few years ago and paired coyote flat with papoose flat the next day. Highly recommend you get up there too. I prefer it over funnel lake because it’s less known than funnel. Less trash..
12:05 the explosion of "overlanding" has led to people going to remote places and leaving their shit (sometimes literally) all over the place. I wish there was way harsher laws for littering. Its so easy to just take your trash out too.
After watching soooo many videos of this trail!..I feel my 2wheeling 4runner with good clearance it has. It can do it! 💪🏽🇺🇸

@KJ thanks man! The Lexus is lifted 2 inches on 35 inch tires stock 16 inch wheels.
@@MPTrailGroup awesome. I’m looking at ironman for mine. What brand did you go with?

Do you have any future upgrades planned for your rig? And great video. 👍🏽
Thanks bro! Drawer system in the back and fridge/slide system. And eventually re gear and lockers.
Whats the fire pit y’all using
@Tito M Its one of those ammo can style propane fire pit. I think it was purchased from REI. Not sure what brand.
Do you have the coordinates of your last campsite?
Hit me up in IG bro.
Great video! Your rig has inspired me to look for my own what’s the gas mileage like?
Thanks man! Gas mileage was terrible 😆. Probably getting 12 mpg at best lol.
