Thank you, This is truly helpful,Waited a long time for this profound Knowledge to be shared in a way for anyone to grasp.I was struggling with this ,also.
Hi Ed, I'm glad you liked the video. Most of this we just take for granted or have a vague understanding. Just putting words to what my rope was doing was a learning experience for me. If you see something that I left out, I'd like to hear it.
Hi Roy, I do sing the Auctioneer every chance I get. As for El Paso, I practice it more than sing it. Marty makes it look easy but for me it's not. What have you been up to? Thanks for saying hello.
I see your statue of Will Rogers on top of the desk. I grew up in Claremore, Ok. and am currently a docent at the Will Rogers Memorial. I have enjoyed watching and learning from your videos, and trying to lean a few rope tricks myself. I'm 64 and retired and should have plenty of time to practice. I've watched other videos on how to do the butterfly but with no success. I'm hoping you can do one on this trick because you explain everything so throughly. Thanks, Woody Forema
Hi Woody, Thank you for the compliment on how I explain stuff. I know my videos run longer than they are supposed to but some things just take more words. If I could turn a phrase like Will did, I might be able to shut up quicker. I have two photos of him that look me in the eye every time I leave my office. One is signed but the ink is fading so it's hard to see. Congratulations on your position at the Museum. Do you guide tours? How has attendance been this year? I have uploaded a video on the Flat Loop that will premier Tuesday evening and am ready to record two more roping videos. One of them is about the Butterfly. I will include a tip that might flatten your learning curve. Thanks Dan
@@rhinestoneropers9204 Howdy Dan, thanks for the reply. I help guests through the museum if needed and answer their questions. Attendance as with everything else has been slim. I worked at the Memorial back in the 70's during the summer cutting the grass while I was going to college. Now I've made the "big loop" and retirement has brought me back to the Memorial. We sell the 15' rope in the gift shop but I ordered the 20' rope from Western Stage Props and can now do the wedding ring thanks to your instructions. I have a longer rope I found in an antique store with the brass honda in it. I'm able to get the vertical loop going but due to two bad knees I can not jump through it. I'll keep an eye out for the new videos. Thanks again, Woody
Hi Woody, Sounds like you struck gold at the antique store. I hope you got a good price. You must be a natural to get the wedding ring so quickly. Here's a pat on the back... Knees and shoulders dictate our physical lives, don't they. I'm amazed at how well they work given how little there is to them. How long is your new rope? Dan
@@rhinestoneropers9204 The antique store find with the brass honda is 23' - 6". It was new and still had the twist ties on it .... $5.00. It's still a work in progress to get the vertical loop started and rolling it over into a wedding ring. I'll get it eventually.

This is a GREAT video! Thanks! I likes and subcribed.
Awesome, thank you!
LOVE THE RHINESTONE ROPER! I wonder if he still sings El Paso and the Auctioneer?

Thanks for saying hello.
Hi Roy, It just dawned on me your true identity. How are you? How are your kids? Are you still enforcing the law?
@@rhinestoneropers9204 LOL 😆 finally! I'm coming to visit next year.

Ones you learn the butterfly and understand how it works. Then you understand a little more.
Yes, every trick has something to teach us about how the rope behaves and how to achieve the next trick.

I think you just made a Yankee turn cowboy.
