This was the first video I have watched for your channel and I am incredibly impressed. The quality and showing all the cards used and abilities really added to my understanding of what was happening. Excited to watch more!
Thank you so much - we put a ton of work into these so comments like this mean a lot! And we have a lot more coming - currently have 10 episodes shot and in various stages of editing, with many more on the way!
Couldn't agree more, usually I got to 'watch it played' then 'the dice tower'. This was fun informative and entertaining definitely going to be one of my new go to for table top gaming. Also love the logo lit up in the baground beautiful touch
@@Upscidown Thanks so much, that means a lot! We know that right now we're little fish in a big pond but we're trying really hard to do big things and get noticed, so putting us next to those channels is very high praise! We have so much more coming, we just posted our 12th playthrough episode and have about 10 more already shot, so there's a lot of things to look forward to - and not just playthroughs!
Awesome gameplay that was enjoyable to watch, (good dice closeups, showing what card/ability is played, etc.)! You guys did a great job with keeping up with the convoluted rules that this game can sometimes face! One small thing, there technically is an infinite supply of status effects, so if you 2 transferred Thors tokens to prevent him from ever drawing cards, he would technically use a replacement to still gain the tokens
Devon talks tabletops is everywhere !! He is so funny. Love Dice Throne !! My favorite game !! I’m still waiting for my marvel Dice Throne to show up. Should be here in a day or two.
Great fun! Few things, when illusion card is success, you inflict the attacker with a bag of tricks. Also Spider-Man used his so wild twice, so I think he forgot to discard. Hopefully next time can see more Loki shenanigans!
My first video of this channel and I'm blown by the production value. Great work guys! I wanna see more Marvel Dice Throne! Funny how that last hit couldn't be avoided even with half damage.
There is no component limitation on Status Effects - so while you could steal some of Thor's Electrokinesis, he would just need to substitute something else in for the token 🙂
so stack size is just a size for each player mats,. so even there is just 3 tokens at a stack size of 2. both or all players can have a stack of 2. thats nice
@@olebrommm Yep! That's correct! They try to provide enough for what would be reasonably expected to be needed in most games, but you can always substitute when/if you run out
Honestly I would love to, but these playthroughs take days of work to shoot and edit and we have too much other stuff coming up, but if we have a lull or if they do some expansions I would love to feature this game again, and I'm sure Alison and Devon would love a rematch!
Really interested in Dice Throne, so I love watching gameplay content on it. It really came down to it in the end ... you all kept saying Thor is SO strong; so do you think the character lacks balance when playing with the others? It seemed that there were ways to offset... just curious. Thanks so much; look forward to the next one! Do you like Marvel better than the Season 1 and 2 sets?
I’m a huge marvel fan so for theme and connection to the characters I like this one more. Thor lost in some of our prep games, and Loki’s illusion is really powerful. What we didn’t get to show in this is that Loki can suggest a card to take, so there’s some mind games involved. It really came down to the dice this game. Devon kept saying how strong I (Thor) was, but until I beat him he had more health than me the entire game.
@@PlaytheGameHQ Great, thanks for the insights! I did notice that Devon had more HP than you until the end, which is why I was curious as to your thoughts. 😁
I don't have the rules in front of me but if I'm remembering correctly, you can use it the turn you earned it, but you can only use one combo per turn, so you can't keep earning them and using them over and over on the same turn.
I just played this game: Thor vs Mile Morales. Really close just like this game, BUT....regarding Odinforce: On (double hammers) Throw or Retrieve Mjolnir. If I roll 4 x Hammers, can I do both? My opponent thinks no because the wording says "on" but Thor's defense roll "Thunder Wheel 2" says "For EVERY (double hammer) etc." so I think he may be right?
The player sheet that says what the tokens do, it will not if it cannot be transferred - for example Loki's Illusion says "Cannot be transferred by any means" which means that it can't be stolen. But as far as stealing them to keep Thor from using them, we found out after this playthrough that tokens are technically unlimited so if you run out of tokens you would just use a temporary replacement for any extras.
In the case of Scarlet Witch's "Conjure" ability, it specifically states you gain a positive status effect from their character board. So for Loki you could take a Bag of Tricks but not his Illusion or Spellbound since those are not labelled as a positive status effect. Just look at the character boards and if the effect is labelled as a "positive status effect" then it's eligible for her to get via conjure. So she may get Bag of Tricks from Loki, Guardian Break or Electrokenesis from Thor (not Mjolnir as that is labelled as a Companion) and Combo, but not webbed or Invisibility from Spiderman. Remember though that a player may discard a card to negate her conjure ability.
Thanks! I’m not sure if it’s a rule change but you are allowed to skip upgrade levels, so you can pay the full cost to go straight to level 3. If you upgrade to 2 then 3, then when you go to 3 you just pay the difference between 2 and 3.
@@PlaytheGameHQ You're right, Play the Game. That's the rule, and it's been that way from the start. You don't need level 2 before 3, you just only have to pay the difference in CP if you already had it upgraded.
Great video but the constant sidebars and joke attempts kinda made it hard to follow at times (and also added ten minutes to the video). However it definitely helped me understand the game better so thank you
I appreciate the feedback. Our goal is to capture the fun of friends around the table, as well as give a really good comprehensive look at the game. We're still learning where the balance is. For what it's worth, the actual gameplay was around 90 minutes, so we cut it in half for the final edit.
Hey guys, don’t know if anybody has said this but you guys interrupting and talking over each other really turned me off to this play through. I only made it through 10 minutes. Just some feedback.

You're such a fun trio to watch. I hope you'll keep collaborating and play together honesty. Good job!
This is our core team so you’re going to see a lot more of us, but we are also bringing in more players for our 4+ player playthroughs

You're great!!! I can watch you for hours. Make my Laugh so hard.
Great playthrough! My copy is waiting for me back in California when we get home okay from this road trip.
When Thor attacked Loki and got a SUCCESS on the success card it says he was supposed to gain a bag of tricks
Let’s see more Dice Throne characters! I’m awaiting my copy!
Has this game been released? I’m very excited to watch your video. Thanks for posting!
Kickstarter is fulfilling now but it will be coming to retail once that’s finished, I think later this month.
Would you want to show off some of the other characters too?

Can I get a clarification on something? At the end, didn't you play the Combo on the same turn you earned it? I didn't think you could do that?

In Dice Throne the term “on” means it can only happen once regardless of how many dice you got that could activate it.
how do you see what tokens can be stolen or not?

can you play with 4 players in a free for all type of battle
Yes . You can play with up to 6 ppl.

might i ask, did they change the rule or can you not play a lvl 3 upgrade without the level 2 present
