That’s what’s going on today on Farmer Tyler Ranch. I enjoy watching every day life on Farmer Tyler Ranch. I grew up on a farm in NC. While it’s hard work and long hours, it so mentally fulfilling. You’re outside with nature. Yes, it’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter but it’s so much better than being in an office building 9 hours a day and fighting the traffic to get to and from work. Mental and physical burnout. I’m 66 but I spend as much time as I can outside. I’m happiest when I’m working in my yards with my dogs by my side.
I love all of your videos and the way you explain everything that you are doing and how you do things everywhere on the farm no matter what part of the farm you are on. Great work Tyler. God bless you and your family.
It's so nice to watch Farmer Tyler doing farm things. I can't exactly explain why, but it just is. Thanks Tyler for giving us a peak into your day to things.
We look forward to your videos weekly! BTW, you have a lovely family! 😍 Wishing you God's blessings in all your endeavors! 🙏 Keep up the good work Tyler! 👍
Good update! Enjoyed the walnut orchard update too! Hope this years crop was bountiful and the market gives good returns! Every time you move cows, I'm impressed by all the fence work you've done! Sure makes a one man show easy!
Thank you for being so careful to give us different views of your work. I hope you are aware that when you do this for us, we are WITH you in some way helping you take care of your farm. There is so much you do every day and you are just one guy with machines. It is very impressive.
Wow an orchard to so you have a huge ranch /farm ❤ your such a hard worker Tyler, love the orchard …..everyone give his videos a thumbs up and sub let’s get him to one million subs❤ best channel on TH-cam
I really do enjoy joining you in what's going on in your day. It is never a dull moment, plus I learned a thing or two along the way. Thank you for taking us along. long
Is the hay netting recyclable ? Don’t think this has ever been discussed. Thanks for the walnut orchard part, the camera angels were great. That is the first time I have seen that type of delivery system; your educational content is always so appreciated. The orchard looked beautiful, hope the crop was a good one.
Love the channel. Question, could you plant a “cover crop” between the trees that improves potassium? I grew up near peach orchards and now with all of the regenerative farming discussions, make me think about how crops could help each other. Maybe even raise profits!!
Cover crops are challenging in mature orchards - not enough light and different needs than the trees. Usually only done with new orchards out in the west
That fertilising process was very interesting. That was a lot of fertiliser, also a very interesting time of the year for application, as the trees are going dormant for winter. Obviously timed though for the type of fertiliser and when it best suites the trees. Your wet winters would also be a factor i would assume. Of course I have no experience with tree farming, except for my own fruit trees. Those I fertilise with a normal NPK fertiliser early spring and early summer, as the tree is in its's main growth and fruiting cycles.
Potassium needs to be watered in for the trees too absorb and lasts for several years - you put it on in the fall so the rain in winter will do the job
Rain tonight for the Trick or Treaters. This is the first rain sense Hurricane Helene back in September. No rain in a month; how do people do it? I know October is suppose to be Tennessee's driest month but this is ridiculous.
In a previous video featuring the orchard you had mentioned a specific type of almond that was I believe smaller, but tastier than the almonds more generally available in stores. Could you let me know again what those almonds are, and if you know, where they can be purchased? Thanks.
Question: how often do the dogs encounter other wildlife like snakes, possums etc that might hurt them? Everytime I see them working on one spot I worry something is there.
do you have a video about the walnut grove? Very interesting how the old tree was cut down and a graft inserted in each stump. How old is the new growth?
Curious how you came to the name. Here in Texas there's an understood very big difference between a Rancher and Farmer. Farmers farm food, ranchers raise live stock (although really just farm grass but i digress). So Farmer and a Rancher but not doing any farming sounds strange. I have to be honest i haven't gone years back in the videos, did you start in the orchard and doing ranch work at the same time?
Hey Tyler, what was done to the trunks of all those orchard trees? I must be seeing things because it looked like they'd been very aggressively girdled or something, and I don't think that can be possible.
Always learn something new on FTR.❤
Tyler is the very best sort of farmer. He loves his animals and his family. He never stops working. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Farmer Tyler should have 1M subscribers. People are missing out.

I agree!
I agree FTR should have a million subscribers.

Wow!!! That sunset you captured in today's video was BEAUTIFUL!! This was a "dirty"video🤣🤣🤣
Tyler has developed an excellent "Director's Eye" for framing shots and setting up the best camera angles.
Thank you!

Yayyy, RAIN! Here in St. Louis. First time in months.
We had a small rain shower last night on Saint Helena Island, which is in the Beaufort area of SC.😊
Always love your videos!
I appreciate that!
Hope you are feeling better from your vacation trip.
You have some of the most beautiful sunsets
Hello from Idaho !!
That fertilizer machine is neat to watch the way it spreads the fertilizer in a single row by the trees.
"Go talk to her if you think she's pretty". That is the best dating advice I've ever heard. 😀
Hello from Wiltshire Uk 🇬🇧
good stuff FTR
Thank you!
Nice dust mask. I have used those a lot in my lifetime.

No, plastic recycling is pretty sketchy..
Hi Tyler from Indiana
Don’t watch you much on the iPad so I don’t comment much but I do watch them all and the one’s with the family are super. Keep it up
Morning break time for me!
You should have taken the LS!
Enjoy your videos FT. Thanks for sharing. Blessings and prayers for you and family in Jesus's Mighty Name.
Good job and good camera

You certainly will xx

Who held their breath when Tyler drove the tractor by in the orchard?😂
When your dad and your dog rolled up in the side by side, it looked like two teenagers ready to go cruising. Maybe stop for burgers and shakes.
Haha!
I like that double action bail delivery vehicle DABDV
Shouldn't you be wearing a mask with all that dust? Love you videos.
It's enjoyable to learn about the trees. I'm assuming you only fertilize one side of the trunks?
Yes, a single strip per tree row about 1000 lbs per acre
thx
Hi. How will fertilizer get in the soil? Is the orchard flood irrigated?
We use sprinklers. It soaks into the ground over time
It needs to be watered in, that's why you put it on in fall. Seems I saw sprinklers and no berms which you would need for flood
Rain tonight for the Trick or Treaters. This is the first rain sense Hurricane Helene back in September. No rain in a month; how do people do it? I know October is suppose to be Tennessee's driest month but this is ridiculous.
❤
Yep, I was thinking .... mask. 😂😂 👍👍💯💯💯
Why do the tree trunks look different?
Native Northern California Black walnut Rootstock, then grafted to English walnut for production. Very similar to roses and stone fruit production.
Either your still sick or all that dust from the orchard really did a number on your throat...
Beautiful sunset at end of today's video.
Do you raise English or Black Walnuts?
A dust mask?
How long are the rows of chestnut trees Tyler?
They are walnuts rows look to be about 1800-2000 feet long
Thanks Jeffery
Oh, oh, Tyler broke his dad's fertilizer tender...I'm sure he'll understand (just kidding).
The cows are not happy, where's my bail?
How close are you to your parent’s farm?
It’s only 3 miles I think? Maybe 2
Oh man that's dry hopefully it will rain soon.
Just rained last night actually. We needed it!
This is the only one he has shown
Can you tell us what varitiy of walnut your dad is growing and are these dwarfs of that type? I see the grafted root stock.
They are Chandler. Not dwarf but the orchard is still somewhat young
What other orchards do you have
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
Hi to south Africa!
In a previous video featuring the orchard you had mentioned a specific type of almond that was I believe smaller, but tastier than the almonds more generally available in stores. Could you let me know again what those almonds are, and if you know, where they can be purchased? Thanks.
His parents' orchard is WALNUTS, not almonds.
Usually graft at 1-2 years old, those trees look about 15 years old
Yes he did one a few years ago near harvest
Using your hoodie to cover your face what’s funny😁
You definitely need a respirator mask. Too much flying around to breathe in.
How many tons of fertilizer does it take to do the complete orchard ?
Good afternoon do you use a software app
to track your cattle? Looking to see what you would recommend.
Is that your Dad? 4:27
Yes

❤❤VIDEO ❤❤
Thanks Brian!
"Go talk to her if you think she's pretty" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Now I see why you didn't use the new loaner tractor.
It's too tall to fit under the trees
Hey Tyler, what was done to the trunks of all those orchard trees? I must be seeing things because it looked like they'd been very aggressively girdled or something, and I don't think that can be possible.
That is a graft of English variety on a NorCal black walnut which is native in Calif so root health is much better
@@JefferyFlynn Thank you! I knew that my eyes must be playing tricks on me!
You should take thisorchard over
Shredder was a job for a tractor with a cab…lol…peace brother…
So you sell your walnuts ?
Did I see your old man 😂
👍👍❤🐂
First.. 😂
