bad in what way? if it’s out of tune, that could be an issue with how you labeled each sample, but if the sample itself is in tune but sounds bad, rerecord/find new samples and remake your chromatic fully

i just now saw this and figured out what went wrong here (very late reply, but if it isn’t helpful to u anymore it should hopefully be helpful for someone else experiencing the same thing) if a finished soundfont doesn’t make any noise when put into your music program, check the patch menu in the soundfont player popup. there should only be one option on the list, which you should select. after that there should be audio. in regards to the number resetting, you have to delete all of the original text that’s in the box by default. upon opening polyphone, the box should just say “60 (C)”. delete all of the text in that box, “C” included, and replace it with the numbers you need (36-83). once that is done, it should stop resetting.

Don’t know if you still need this but maybe this’ll help someone else watching still, right in the information box where the size and loop settings are, under the loop section, each sample may be set to 0, 0. In the video, you can see that he has the loop number set to the beginning of the sample. So for example, the size of one of his samples is 32334, so the loop is set to 0, 32333, this plays the sound at the beginning of the sample. To change the loop number, you can click the left facing arrow at the end of the loop section and that’ll automatically change the loop number one number before the sample length. you can play around with it after that, if you have shorter samples, you may want to turn off looping. I haven’t tested if disabling looping stops the sound in anyway. I also recommend generally having longer samples so that it’ll sound better. I haven’t played around with it yet but hopefully that makes the sound play, it worked for me so let’s hope! Edit: Just thought I’d clarify that the reason I’m mentioning this is because I don’t think he mentioned adjusting the loop number, and in my case, whenever you create new samples to use, the loop is automatically set to 0,0. however if I’m wrong please let me know!
What if you already downloaded a chromatic scale that needs to be turned into a sound font (the chromatic scales are just one singular audio file with all notes used, not seperate.)
what i do in that situation is that i take a select few individual samples from that chromatic and run it through the chromatic generator so it generates a new chromatic with individual sample files for each note. then, you go through the rest of the soundfont process as shown in the video.
So I’m trying to create a rapping SoundFont (aka An atonal similar to, for example, Matt’s SoundFont), but it isn’t dumping the individual samples even though I had that box checked. The only thing I didn’t want to check because I’m trying to make an atonal was actually the pitched box. I don’t know if I need to have that checked, or not, but for some reason I can’t figure it out.

you mean extend the range of a chromatic that already exists? in that case, pull samples from the chromatic and follow the instructions given in the video. then set the range to whatever amount you want. hope this helps
@@ashistrashier8771 I found out that it was because it couldn't understand the pitch. it was a Microsoft Sam whisper sound, and I don't think it could understand it because when I added a second voice, it started working again.
i do not know why that would be, i've never experienced this issue before. did you make sure that the other 4 wav files were actually wavs? did you name in the correct order?
did the chromatic generator itself not show up in your files, or did the samples not show up? if it’s the program itself, make sure you installed it in the right folder. you could have downloaded it elsewhere and could be looking in the wrong place for it if it’s an issue with the samples, make sure they’re in .wav format
@@ashistrashier8771 I downloaded the chromatic generator and I used WinRar to open it, I followed the instructions in the video, but the samples still didn't show up after I used chromatic generator even though the samples were in wav format.
@@OfficialMinecrafter0986 click on the name of the soundfont you want to edit in lmms. there should be a piano. scroll through the piano notes until you find a small white dot just above the keys. you can move the dot in order to change the key or octave of the layer. move it around to your liking. i'm really bad at explaining this, sorry if this made no sense.
@@ashistrashier8771 for some reason when i select my folder to generate my samples are gone and i checked even before generating that they are in the right folder multiple times if you can can you tell me if i missed a step or did something wrong??😭😭
@@RonBonXignore what i said earlier, i just reread your comment and i get it now. when you go to pick a folder to generate a chromatic from, the samples inside the folder just don’t appear in the pop-up that the generator gives you. just select the folder, because the samples are still there despite not appearing in the preview.

there are templates available online in the form of midis, but i sometimes make them manually when i can’t find any midis for a specific song.

you mean extend the range of a chromatic that already exists? in that case, pull samples from the chromatic and follow the instructions given in the video. then set the range to whatever amount you want.

i have problem, when i want generate chromatic from 6 .wav's it only generate each one from 2 first .wav's

So apparently, chromatic generator doesn't work for me. It doesn't show up in my files at all. So I just had to do without it.

Or actually in one case I put them in the vowel order. “A, E, I, O, U, DU” but the other times I did put the samples in numerical order.
Guessing for longer hold notes, just need longer samples, and for higher notes just wanna do more samples?
yeah, you can make the samples as long as you please, and for higher notes, you don't need to record or create more, just set the range number higher

I named them “drago1”, “drago2”, etc. up to “drago5”.
you aren’t supposed to put anything besides the numbers in the file names. instead of naming it “drago1”, just name it “1”.

Every time I make a sound font it ends up being super high pitched. How do I fix this?
turn down its octave by 1-2 within lmms. whenever you load in the soundfont, the default settings make it sound super high.
