- Here it is, everyone! My long awaited tutorial on how I make my chromatic scales!
Fair warning, that this is my first time editing a video this long, so I apologize for any editing errors that may have slipped through. This took quite a while.

I forgot to mention this in the video, but a quick tip;
When arranging your chromatic, it's a good idea to chop off a tiny bit of the beginning of your samples.
Typically, the start of your samples will be a tad bit quieter, because when singing, you have to naturally come *into* the note. But with FNF vocals, your samples need to start *immediately*. So just chop off a tiny bit of the beginning of your samples, and you should be golden.
If you use FL Studio, you won't need to worry about that too much, because you can just adjust the start times in SliceX.

Well I kinda learned that on my own but I made a utau chromatic I did it by using kinemaster to record sending it to my computer to make an utau voice bank and made an utau chromatic ust and exported it to FL studio and used Full Slicing
So did you made chromatic scales for the 5 girls (ddlc and Tioda)? Because they sound so *funkin* good.
I think Sticky's tutorial is better for beginners but yours is better for people that wants more detail about this, really helpful!

Yep! All you need to do is hold "Option", and go to the end of your sample until you see the double-arrow, and drag it out to your desired length!

Different samples were recorded for both!
I have a question. When tuning the samples on Logic, is the limit always going to be A4? I made a chromatic but it seems I can't tune samples any higher than A4
Yes.
Vocal Transformer's lowest note is A0, and A4 is the highest. You won't be able to go any higher than A4 if you tune your chromatics with Vocal Transformer (which is kind of a bummer, to be honest :P)

If your using FL I like to use detect pitch regions and set trigger notes for all. So now the scale will be placed correctly on the piano roll! As most of the time the scale is placed an octave or so up which is awkward imo.
Also in newtone you can copy and paste which imo makes the process much easier.
Cause then you could build up the first 5 or so samples you have. Then just copy them to the right and move them all up at once!

Audacity for extending samples, and Logic Pro X/FL Studio for tuning!
What about balancing out the Loud parts of the vocals compared to the quiteter ones?
Use something like a compressor, or OTT

Question: If the sample is short do you stretch it or no
It's not *entirely* necessary to extend them, but it *is* an option. If you choose to extend them, make it about 3-4 seconds long, just long enough to make hold notes.
Can you change the time of a vowel in some other way, or do you need Logic Pro X?
The way I extend vowels is in Audacity, and sometimes Adobe Audition. You don't *need* those softwares, and you can easily do it Logic, FL, or pretty much any DAW, though my personal favorite is Audacity.

@@Atreyu071 Highlight the vowel you want to sample, and go to Effect>Change Tempo
Depending on how long that sample initially was, try to stretch it out to approximately 4-5 seconds, and make sure you have "Use High Quality Stretching" turned on.

What program did you use when you stretched out the steven voice lines, I tried doing something similar in FL Studio but it didn't sound great.
If you have a recommendation on what I could do in FL Studio to improve the vocals I'll be sampling, that will be greatly appreciated.

FL Studio, or Ableton.
Both are paid DAWs, but you can get free trial versions!

record it using edison in master, then drag and drop your recorded chromatic to the playlist

I'm not sure about that, but given how similar Garageband, and Logic are, you *might* be able to.

The first software I used was Audacity, and that is available for both Mac and Windows
The sampling method *can* be done through FL as well.
