Hi Rolanda! This year we aren’t going to be doing Abeka’s Arithmetic. We are actually going to be using Teaching Textbooks. I’m sorry! I will have flip through’s of Abeka’s Reading, Writing, Spelling, Poetry, and Bible. Hopefully you find those helpful. I will also be posting Notgrass History and Apologia Science. ☺️
Simply Homeschool did you not like Abeka math? We tried teaching textbooks for 2nd grade in the beginning and it didn’t work for us. I’ll be interested to see your reviews.
Oh noooo! Don’t tell me that! 😬 lol..... What didn’t you like about it? I loved Abeka math. But the videos just weren’t working for my daughter anymore. The math itself takes about an hour including the video and the worksheets. But if Teaching Textbooks doesn’t work out we will be going back to Abeka, and I’ll have to tell my daughter, suck it up buttercup! 😂
Simply Homeschool hi...we tried level 3 at the beginning of 2nd grade this year and TT was very far behind where she was finishing Horizons at the end of 1st. We tried it for about 30-40 lessons and then she was just too bored with it. I guess we could have gone up a level to levrl 4 but she really misses the textbook part of it too. Every child is different tho and I have seen a lot of you tube reviews on it and a lot have loved it.
Oh wow! Ok that’s what I’m worried about! I tested her and she got all of the level 3 right, but she doesn’t know some of the level 4. So, I’m a little confused. I don’t want to move her to 4 and than have her fall behind. But like you said, I don’t want her to get bored either. Maybe I will have her do the trial lessons for level 4 and see where it goes, because I hear that Abeka is a grade level ahead as well. Thank you so much for your insight, I appreciate it.

I found an abeka book language 3 writing and grammar. I found it at the thrift store along with an answer key but no teacher guide will we be ok without it
Hi Heather. You should be able to manage without it. There are some things that have instruction in the guide that won’t be in the teacher key. I will say that for myself, I would need a guide to use, but I also know that some mamas wouldn’t. Maybe just look through the book to see if you are left with questions, and if you are just purchase the manual. You can sometimes find them on FB and EBay. ☺️

Hello, please did you have to use the grade 3 Abeka reader books for your curriculum too?
We used their Reading and writing because they are linked together. They were learning how to write book reports after reading the readers.
