  • @vixiestarfire

    I think the problem with Quaid’s character Bowen is that he never realized that Einon always had darkness in his heart even before he died the first time. There were hints of it showed here and there and he either chose to not acknowledge it and hope for the best or never saw it because he loved the boy so much. He probably would’ve behaved the exact same way even if the dragon didn’t share his heart with him. But idk, maybe the darkness of humanity mixed with the power of a dragon’s heart amplifies the darkness for all I know 🤷‍♀️

    • @luutsii
      @luutsii ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah i think you nailed it: he had a dark Heart from the start

    • @DanSolo0119
      @DanSolo0119 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And there was why it went bad for Draco. Einon's dark heart tainted Draco's and that would have kept him from Dragon Heaven had it not been for his act of self sacrifice.
      Draco admitted that he knew Einon was evil but hoped his gift would make him seek the light. Bowen probably was the same. He saw that lust for violence that his father had but hoped he could make a good king that would bring peace, and Bowen would have died knowing he made that good king.
      But...💔

    • @whitewolf1310
      @whitewolf1310 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Draco's heart had nothing to do with it. Einon said it himself to Bowen regarding him reciting the words of the Old Code, "I vomited them up because I couldn't stomach them, because I knew it was what you wanted to hear!" and also "you taught me to fight, that's all! I took what I needed from you!" Even if Einon wasn't mortally wounded and never had half of Draco's heart, he still would've turned out the same. I think the reason Bowen was in denial for so long was because he worked so long and hard to try to make Einon become a just and benevolent king that in the end, it made him feel like a complete failure in his duty as a knight of the Old Code. Blaming Draco was just his coverup to avoid feeling like a failure. Even though of course in reality, it was Einon who failed Bowen by never listening to him. It's almost the same as a loving hard-working father in this day and age spending so many years to help his son become a decent man only for his son to resent everything his dad did for him and become a violent murderer. The father can't help but blame himself for not doing enough or maybe blame someone else for being a bad influence. Even though in the end, it was his son who made his own bad choices.

    Dragonheart is a childhood classic and probably one of the reasons, if not the reason, that as a child I was absolutely (and still am) dragon obsessed. It's such a good movie in so many ways and even 25 years later stands up incredibly well.
    I highly recommend the sequel as well. It's not as good as the first, but I still quite like it.

    • @eternyti
      @eternyti ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also want to clarify that by "sequel" I mean Dragonheart 2, not 3. I've never seen 3 except in clips and posters and the only compliment I can really pay it is that its actually impressive for CGI made in the mid 2010s to look worse than CGI in the mid 90s.

      Draco's death at the end of this movie is exactly like Thackery Binx's death at the end of Hocus Pocus. While you're crying because they died which is sad, you're also crying because their souls were finally freed, and they could finally be with their families again which is happy. There aren't many movies out there that can make you cry out of both sadness and happiness at the same time.

    Draco the Dragon was voiced by the legendary Sean Connery, Nick, the very first James Bond. If you’d like to see him in a fun role that requires less time investment, I’d suggest watching the Indiana Jones trilogy, in which he plays Indiana Jones’ father. A very different, but incredibly fun role.

    You should also watch Dragonheart A New Beginning. I think that's the title. It's a sequel. I think you might like it.

    This is such agreat film and the main theme of Stars was used in multiple trailers Including the teaser trailer for Mulan. I hope you will see more films with Sean Connery.
    Another great film with dragons is Reign of Fire.

    Sean Connery as Draco deserves it’s own award. He doesn’t get enough recognition for this role; for a lot of us fantasy geeks and nerds, this was a beginning of something very special. ❤
    P.S.: King Einon before Professor Lupin was a thing lol ❤🐺

    Brought tears to my eyes when I watched the last heart breaking scene.
    I don't know but we cried because perhaps we are reminded that we are mortal and will pass away from this world at one point of time.

    The BEST James Bond played Drago 🐲
    Sean Conroy will live on in the movies we watch of him, just like Drago in the stars ✨

    My parents had to keep re-winding the vhs when my sister and I was younger as Dracos death made us too upset, by rewinding it draco was still alive.

    A few other Dennis Quaid films you would probably enjoy are "Enemy Mine," "Inner Space," "D.O.A." (the remake), and "Undercover Blues."

    So why was it they couldn't keep the king imprisoned the same way that Draco was imprisoned?
    Wouldn't his "great evil" be completely nullified since he was no longer in charge?
