I store my perfumes in a very unorganised way, but very roughly, the lighter, brighter fragrances are on the left (part 1) and the darker, stronger scents are on the right (some of part 1 and part 2).
I started TH-cam in 2020 with a collection of around 15 perfumes, now I have over 80... if you are a fellow perfume obsessive, join me in perusing my collection and let me know which perfumes you love, which perfumes you really don't and which hidden gems I am missing out on...
If you follow me you'll already know this, but I buy most of my perfumes secondhand and I resell any that I don't enjoy... my aim is to try lots of different scents and to learn the notes that I love and the types of fragrance that I can't get enough of and then to edit my collection down to the point where I love everything! That's the journey I hope that I'm on anyway! 🤔

Awwh! I can't believe that loverdose is pricey there, that's such a shame! It is quite often discounted here. I always wonder if it will be discontinued as I hardly see anyone mention it. Maybe you need a holiday to the UK soon to pick a bottle up?!
The dsquared2 bottle lid is like an after thought on the designers part. It's like they looked at the bottle and though, ooh that doesn't stand out... What can we do? 🤔 Oh a ginormous lid! Of course!

It smells like Jonson s and Johnson s baby body lotion.but very light does not last
@@mantogalanou8663 maybe it's a different batch or just my skin but it lasts ages on me. I wore it to work a few weeks ago and I could still smell it when I got back home and the next day on my clothes 😲 that was with 5 sprays maybe? It is soft though, and yes it does smell like j&j baby line. 😂

It's not expensive and it's fun. I haven't investigated the two flankers, maybe one of those is even better? I wouldn't say that it is something that I would dearly miss but I do enjoy it and wear it. I have tried a lot of other cacharel fragrances and I'm not sure I am interested in any others. I like amor amor but that is about it. 🤷♀️

I hadn't thought about Simply as similar to NR Poudree. Now I have to go sniff them side by side. Your mini collection is just PRECIOUS!! It's almost like they deserve their own little cupboard. I love the expression "punching above its weight" for 5th Ave Royale. Right on! 💖
Simply poudrée is sweeter and more baby powder for sure, not a dupe just a vibe, but they remind me of each other. I don't know why, I don't think the notes are even that similar from memory 🤔
LOL if any of my fragrances are punching, it is that 5th avenue royale. Reminds me of a old school gentleman's club, dark spirits, leather, men's cologne and polished wood. I feel that perfume is unisex.

It's really leathery. It makes me think of leather sofas, polished wood and dark spirits. It's a bit incensey too. Feels unisex to me. I'd love to smell it on a man! Might spray my husband 😂 that'll annoy him.
It’s soo nice to see bottles with significant dents in them - quite a rarity on TH-cam. Fragrance are best when loved AND used! ❤️ Beautiful collection.
Thanks so much! I do buy a lot of secondhand fragrances so the dents might not all entirely be made by me 🤣! I do use them all though. If I go off something, I resell it, I don't let perfumes sit around. Thanks for watching ❤️

@@bnunya8540 eBay usually. You have to be careful but I have only had one bad experience and I got my money back. I would avoid really faked brands like Chanel, Dior, ysl. Larger bottle sizes, unused without boxes are also massive red flags. I report every fake I spot and I spot maybe 3 a week.
@@dr.claire.perfume oh jeez. When they’re saying new not used it without Box is that usually because they just filled it up with some other liquid?
I just bought a Kilian princess perfume 3.4 ounces for $105 on the site called bonanza. It says it’s new in sealed box but I’m really starting to question how it could be legit when the deal was just so good and everybody’s scrambling for that perfume right now 😳
Guerlain Insolence smells like violet candy and violet is one of my favorite powdery notes! 💜I love V&R Bon Bon and Bon Bon Couture! 😍I recently bought TF Black Orchid and I couldn't believe I took so long to buy it! It's such a powerful fragrance! 🤩Versace Crustal Noir has a slight masculine edge! I absolutely adore all NR fragrances! That musky DNA is to die for! 🤩Nice collection you got there! ❤️

Yes, they are so cute! I suppose it depends how much you like the boxes and whether you have a dark place to keep them! That room is North East facing so it doesn't get much light in that corner so I feel ok about having them out. I think also quite a lot of my minis came as a giftset so I don't have the packaging as they were individually boxed. Do you collect minis? I know a lot of people do. I don't, I just seem to have some 😂 they are a good way to try something.

I miss Stars 😭 every time I wear Jimmy Choo I think, oh this isn't stars. I tried fever a few weeks back. Nicer than I imagined but I already forgot how it smells 😂
I'm so tempted by MJ Decadence even though I don't personally want to smell like that... the composition is very interesting to me; I smelled it in store years ago and haven't stopped thinking of it. I'm a bit sad they seem to have abandoned the line in favor of making more and more Daisy flankers. I actually like Daisy quite a lot but it is overdone at this point. I wasn't that crazy about Mugler Aura even though I do see the similarities (from what I can remember).
Yes I think Decadence is love or hate. I've heard a lot of people say they smell pickles 🤣 I agree, Decadence stood out on the designer fragrance market when it launched, especially amongst other MJ scents. Now I think there are other things out there...
I also like Daisy, simple, clean, easy to wear inoffensive. I wear it a lot to work. I am also a big fan of daisy dream and my mum bought me daze for my birthday last year, but I am done now! No more! Not sure I will repurchase Daisy either.
I also have the Jill Sander Simply one…..not many do. 😉❤️
Yes I don't see many people with that one. I honestly bought that because I'd rather have a perfume than pay £5 for shipping. 🤣 I was pleasantly surprised by it though! 🤔
I agree that Crystal Noir is best in spring summer. Our tastes are different, but we share Yes I Am and Black XS. 😻 I'm most interested to try the Insolence. For some reason I just love the cute baby bottles! Very efficiently done, Claire - a lot of information and a total pleasure the whole time. ❤️
Black Xs I wore a few times after this video as I'd not worn it for a while, I really got the cranberry note in it but my bottle does smell a little plasticky and I wonder if the scent is still ok? Yes I am is a fun fragrance. Smells delicious! And I love crystal noir any time any place! 😂
Oh I was so worried about taking an age with these videos! I do try to say something about each perfume because I prefer it when people do that when I watch collection videos, but yeah it can take a long time and it's a fine balance... Glad I achieved it. Thank you 🥰

I think that Black XS has been reformulated (although I've no research to back that) because it smells exactly as you say, "plasticky" and a bit "off" somehow? It didn't used to smell like that AT ALL. Strange stuff. I mourn the "old formulations" of things for sure. :(
@@ScentSiblingsDotCA my bottle is leaky so I wondered whether air had got in and changed the scent, but I remember always thinking it was a little plasticky, so that's probably not the case 😂

Decadence was my signature for years after it came out until I moved into a hotter climate. It is so gorgeous. I would never have described it the way you have but then again I have no idea to describe perfume and how to smell out particular scents. I was just so happy to see someone have it because I never ever do in these types of fragrance videos. Every person that ever smelled it on me liked it. It settles down into the loveliest softer but still beautiful scent. Maybe it’s just me since it’s never really been mentioned or raved about.
I think Decadence isn't mentioned so much now because it's discontinued so creators can't link it in affiliate links and they worry about alienating their audience who might be interested in it but can no longer buy it! I really like Decadence. I remember going to smell it repeatedly for years and never buying it and then just before lockdown, I got it for Christmas! I really enjoy it but it's so strong and long lasting that I have to plan when I wear it 😂 I think this version of my collection video is quite old now so I've probably improved how I describe it in the 2023 version 😊 thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume that makes sense! You’re right at first it’s very strong and I prefer what it settles into! Like so many others, I’m excited to have found your channel. Maybe I’ll even find a new scent from since we at least have one in common. I’ve been on the hunt for my new signature for 5 years and can’t settle on one lol. I live in a super hot humid climate now and almost everything becomes cloying. It’s harder to like things that smell very sweet or floral forward and I’m lost on what I like. Recently I bought a sample of delina (from the discovery set, had to try it after all the hype) and although it is a beautiful feminine scent even that is too much for me in a tropical climate. I’m kinda late to the fragrance world and don’t know a lot. Thank you for the reply!!
Hmm, did you try a sandalwood or a fig? I guess you'd need to be careful that those weren't too creamy though... or perhaps a long lasting citrus? Olfactive O Citrus is a nice one and it's relatively affordable. Olfactive O are a lovely brand in general.

The Nina Ricci bottle color is beautiful but I’ve seen a few ppl declutter so I’m holding back on purchasing.
I guess the longevity and projection might be the issue for some. I actually think a lot of Francis Kurkdjian fragrances are very much an acquired taste. I don't think his scents are mass appealing at all, even his designer ones...

I prefer Intense over the original Black Opium too. You have some wonderful scents in your collection! I really enjoyed seeing them all 😄
My opinion keeps changing on it. I miss the coffee now in the original but I also feel a bit bored with black opium original 🤷♀️ so it's nice for a change. The dry down of the intense is custardy vanilla though, which is delicious but a bit weird after the absinthe. It's like it's two fragrances.

i see what you mean with masculine in the MJ decadence, I get that vibe in the dry down. It’s wonderful in the opening and I just wish it stayed like that until the dry down. LPRN black perfecto has been in wishlist for so long but I’m scared of the leather. Now that I have Tom Ford Ffabulous, and love it, I think I’m ready for it. But how is the leather in the black perfecto? I just want to make sure it’s not the dirty leather in Rogue by Rihanna, which I can’t stand. Thanks😊
I have to be in the mood to wear Decadence, but I really used to love it. I guess my taste has changed slightly. Not worn it for a couple of months though so if I wear it again, I'll likely love it again!
I've not tried rogue. I would say it's a liquorice/rose leather, I think it's clean but I'm not sure I've experienced dirty leather. Elizabeth Arden 5th avenue royale also has leather and that is woody and incensey with a hint of dark spirits and raspberry. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think I prefer that one for the leather/ suede. Depends what you are looking for though as that one isn't floral at all. Thanks for watching 😘

Hey! I sometimes see Loverdose cheap, the tattoo is rare to find but usually the cheaper of the two. The SJP Cover Pure Bloom lasts 5 hours on me with a few sprays. It's not beastly but it's enough given the price. Yes, I am wearing Nina Ricci L'extase Rose Absolue today and really enjoying it. Both of the ones that I have from that range are really beautiful! Cacharel Yes I Am is so fun. I think MJ discontinued his best fragrance with Decadence... definitely, savour it! Thankfully it is strong! Thanks so much for watching! xxx
So many awesome ones. But Claire 😱 who could ever be sick of Black Opium, I actually don't love the intense it's a little too vanillary, the new one sounds good. I want my nose on the neon too 🙂.

I go backwards and forwards on the intense. At first I thought, aaah where's the coffee??? Then I liked the citrussy alcohol tart berry opening, then I thought, wow, this isn't black opium at all... It's been misnamed for sure. Not intense at all, and probably not that black opium either 🤣 I did used to wear black opium A LOT, it was my everyday fragrance for a good few years.... LOL filling the tissue culture lab with the smell of black opium!
I know! Minis just seem to appear for me too. I think some came in giftsets, others people gave me... Don't know, it's a mystery! They are dabbers so they drive me nuts so I wouldn't specifically buy them no matter how cute they look.
Btw someone was asking me for a good orange blossom led fragrance, I directed her to your channel... Thought that was your area!

Yes dabbers are definitely a route to insanity... Like trying to eat something delicious when you're hungry and you have a very tiny mouth

I hate the way if you use a dabber you end up with stuff floating in dabbers. Ugh! Once I start them, I generally use them until they are gone. Although a few of these have got left partially used. I don't think you get the full effect of a fragrance unless it is sprayed though (unless it's an oil).
It only occurred to me after I started to watch TH-cam that black opium might not be the world's most appropriate work scent. I think I even wore it to my viva exams! 😂 Guess you can wear what you want though, no need to conform to expectations. Unis are good for that. I wear jeans to work most days. People ask you who the meeting is with or whether the vice chancellor is coming to the building if you dress up. 🙃

Yes you're right actually, except oils come in nice rollerball things or a proper dabber. And they unfold on the skin not like an edt. I don't get them are they really so much cheaper than the spray ones that it's worth annoying everyone?

Gucci Guilty Absolu & the DSquared one have been on my wish list for a while but I haven’t made the plunge yet. #oldiebutagoddie. I think you will like BO Neon.
I think you will like Gucci Guilty Absolue, it's more cedar than patchouli, I know you aren't a massive fan of patchouli sometimes. It's very unisex feeling but doesn't have great longevity on me. Definitely try it! I think it's underrated and great for autumn. The DSquared one, I'd say you might have something similar in Kayali Vanilla 28, so you might be disappointed by it. I've not tried the Kayali though, so I might be wrong!

You have a lovely and interesting collection of perfume! I am currently looking for a good orange blossom scent. Maybe you could recommend something or make a video if you are interested? I heard that Ellie Saab is an orange blossom scent. 🌸💕🧴🧴🍁
Thank you! Yes Elie Saab is orange blossom and honey. I don't think I have any other orange blossom fragrances with that as a main note, but I will direct you to the channel of the king of knowledge on orange blossom perfumes: Jon Snow. He is very friendly and has a very kooky channel that I love. His last video was scenting ABBA ☺️ you could try asking him, as I said, he's very friendly. I will also look into it! I've not tried them and I can't attest to longevity, but I know penhaligons and Jo Malone have some specific orange blossom scents. I think Kate Middleton had the orange blossom from Jo Malone for her wedding day from memory 🤔 I apologise for not having better suggestions than the obvious! 😂 I will keep it in mind next time I sniff my way through the local department stores!

Is Illicit discontinued? I feel like it might be... Roberto Cavalli reminded me a lot of Lady Million, it was quite strong on orange blossom though, but not delicate. Never owned it and only tried it once, so just what I say with that in mind, it might not be that accurate! Not tried the rest.
I love rose. But they smell warm on me. Is there a cool or cold rose perfume?
You could try Balenciaga Florabotanica that is quite cool, rosewater like and green in the main. Definitely not everyone's taste though... I think I mention Ralph Lauren Romance in this video or in part 1 but that is a bit soapy. I don't think I have much experience with other rose perfumes other than really fresh ones like those in l'occitane. Those are cool in the main, if you have a store locally you could go to try those perhaps. I would avoid perfumes with amber / vanilla / spicy notes with the rose, and try to stick to fresher, greener rose scents too, because those other notes will make stuff smell warmer.
