IMO, Drishyam 1 had more shocking twists compared to Drishyam 2. I'm comparing both Hindi parts, since I watched both movies but watched only part 2 of Malayalam.
Hindi part 2 is pathetic.

Exactly.Editing was horrible.Characters were inconsistent.Even many dialogues from the Malayalam version were skipped making the scenes look like a cheap rip off . Malayalam version was not that good but still the efect of background music,sound editing and presentation were awesome.

anurag kashyap thriller movies is something else i remember when i was watching raman raghav 2.0 when that helmet attack scene came guy who was sitting next to me screamed.after that movie i came to know about anurag kashyap and saw his gangs of wasseypur and then i become his filmography fan last two of his movies weren't that great but his new upcoming one gave me og anurag kashyap vibe
Me too, after i watched and liked gangs of wasseypur and Raman Raghav i found out these both were from anurag kashyap , then i start watching his more movies like no smoking , ugly are actually underrated

Monica O my darling, Te3n, Raat akeli hai were outstanding!!!!!!!! But the movie which hits me hard even today is Talaash...despite having seen this movie several times, its climax still chills my spine down!!!!!
Nice informative video. Out of these 10, I have watched "Monica, o my....", "Raat Akeli Hai" & "Talaash" and can easily vouch that they are mind-blowing. So it should apply to the rest 7 also.

The climax of ugly is so unpredictable..i never thought that film will end like this. An unforgettable yet powerful climax.

When it comes to Indian Thrillers its always Malayalam Industry. Totally grounded, realistic, and twisted. Last i watched was "Iratta" 🤯🤯🧠 still gives me goosebumps the climax... One announcement anyone who has not seen "2018" running right-now in theaters please go watch its just awesome also Hindi dubbed is now released.. Trust me worth every penny.

I am from the US, and am new to Indian cinema. I am really bored with American cinema these days, and I am looking for more Indian cinema to watch and enjoy. (I came here after watching RRR, Bahubali 1&2, Magadheera, and Yevadu...) Great to see more recommedations, and I am surprised to find that movies from India are now among my favorites. I don't always know how to find them, and so few of them are easy to find here, but they may have permanently spoiled me on films from Hollywood. Best wishes to you all!!!
Also want to recommend Death in the Gunj... very underrated master piece,, showing reality of all the relationshhips which can happen in any family..
The ending of "Ugly" is one of the most mildblowing (and heartbreaking) plot twists I have ever seen in my life.

You forgot badla . The direction, acting and mainly the twist. Big B and tapsee screen presence make this a must watch film . And those who says what srk has done for Indian cinema this is prime example bcoz red chillies produced this 🍿.

Try some movies directed by Anurag Kashyap, Shoojit Sircar, Sujoy Ghosh, Dibakar Banerjee, Hansal Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Neeraj Pandey etc. All are gems.
They all work on Bollywood industry and they are pride of our nation.
Also try some movies directed by Bengali directors, such as: Koushik Ganguly, Srijit Mukherjee, Nandita Roy & Shiboprosad Mukherjee (duo) etc. They are fantastic & also national award winners.
Anurag Kashyap's ugly and Raman Raghav 2.o the both movies are mind blowing twist. Sriram raghavan also a king of thriller movies Eg: The one and only Andhadhun. And the other movies are 404 error not found,Ittefaaq,3 deewarien, Ajeeb Daastaans (Khilauna), Karthik Calling Karthik,Rahasya,Kaun etc movies... Are really best twist. I missed that Bollywood so much...

More than 1 Malayalam movie. One of the best things about this movie is the real portrayal of female characters. No extra makeup, no glamorization; just a real woman on the screen. This also captures the real beauty of a woman, a break from the made-up fair-skin beauty standard. Hats off to Malayalam cinema.

This is just my personal opinion,
both the Drishyam 1 movies were perfect in terms of acting and storyline, but I must say that Drishyam 2 of malyalam version was a masterpiece. No doubt Ajay Devgan's Drishyam 2 was very good but it is nowhere around the original version.
