I think a simple distinction solves a lot of this debate. I don't think it's much a stretch to say that the last two seasons, Allen has been the better QB than Mahomes and that on aggregate, Allen is the more talented of the two and is responsible for carrying his team in a way that Mahomes never really has been. But, when you zoom out to a career level, Mahomes is clearly superior because he has the rings. Right now, I would also give the edge to Mahomes in terms of "clutchness" factor, especially in Superbowls. Again, this isn't a dig at Allen, but he simply hasn't had opportunity be clutch in a SB because he hasn't made one. As unfair as it is, when considering who is better, winning championships matters. I don't think anyone is saying that Allen needs to match Mahomes' three rings, but in order for Allen to get into the conversation about greatest of all time he has to win at least one.

It’s really common sense Mahomes is VERY good and elite level in the clutch but we also must acknowledge that he was drafted into a great situation. Mahomes gets more help from the players and coaches around him since being drafted than a lot of guys do, especially compared to Allen.

He also had 44 TDs to Mahomes' 27..."I'm not a QB wins guy!" Dude's entire argument for Mahomes right now is that they're 13-1. That's it. And that he "makes plays down the stretch." So do a lot of QBs. So does Jalen Hurts who "isn't having a great year" despite being better in every efficiency metric compared to Mahomes and his totals are simply lower becaus he doesn't throw as much. What Nick does is take things out of context to fit his narrative. Granted, the title asked who the best TEAM was, but the argument was who's the better player as of now....THIS YEAR.
I think a simple distinction solves a lot of this debate. I don't think it's much a stretch to say that the last two seasons, Allen has been the better QB than Mahomes and that on aggregate, Allen is the more talented of the two and is responsible for carrying his team in a way that Mahomes never really has been.
But, when you zoom out to a career level, Mahomes is clearly superior because he has the rings. Right now, I would also give the edge to Mahomes in terms of "clutchness" factor, especially in Superbowls. Again, this isn't a dig at Allen, but he simply hasn't had opportunity be clutch in a SB because he hasn't made one.
As unfair as it is, when considering who is better, winning championships matters. I don't think anyone is saying that Allen needs to match Mahomes' three rings, but in order for Allen to get into the conversation about greatest of all time he has to win at least one.
