_Escape from New York_ was simply a documentary from an alternative timeline. He just travelled into a time machine to get there, and he came back and changed history. So he indeed was ahead of his time.
I like how this is sort of a mix between the original Escape from NY version and the Escape from LA version. The only change I would make would be to keep the bassline synth and the drums low-key at the beginning, then go full-on metal when the main riff kicks in (about 0:33), instead of starting at 100; if you have the stems handy, I'd actually be happy to mock this up for you in Ableton and show you what I mean.
Great cover of the "Escape from New York" theme. I am getting ready to eventually do a bushcraft and survival channel on youtube and would love to use this version as my videos opening music. I'm a big Snake Plissken fan.
@VikingGuitar dude this is incredible, I’ve been searching for years of a good remix and gave up long ago, tried yours just to see if it was anything decent and I am definitely surprised lol please do more 🎧 jammin out to this for the past few hours now 😎
The creator of the franchise was a fan of the film and made Snake resemble Snake Pliskin explicitly. The mullet, the eyepatch, and the name. The fact Revolver Ocelot gives you John Carpenter vibes comes as no surprise.
Hey, thanks! This is my arrangement and performance here. I still think John Carpenter's is basically perfect, but I'm really glad to hear you dig the metal version here!
I'm ADDICTED to this brilliant shit !! THANK YOU VIKING METAL !! YOU RULE major , brother !! Listen to the Guitar sound , playing & the arrangements ... AND that DEEP BASS . The guy is ASTONISHING !
WTF ! Absolutely brilliant , Viking Guitar ! As a 47 year old Snake Plissken fan Metalhead , I gave 101% approval ! Your version RULES , brother ! Master JOHN CARPENTER should call you to play this version live in his Tour ! If they remake Escapes , YOU should be responsible for the soundtracks ! Kudos from Brasil =)
I came here from a video on Soviet Tanks which has this song as background music. Just as the main guitar riffs kick off, they show a Marshal of the Soviet union rolling up in an open top UAZ 469 and being saluted by a Lieutenant General of the red army in front of a literally endless row of tanks massed for EX ZAPAD 1981. ITS INCREDIBLE.
Hey man thanks for that! Favorite movie. Favorite soundtrack. And you made it in late Paradise Lost style in my opinion. 1:30 remind me their "Over the Madness" song arrangement. This is a MASTERPIECE! \m/ \m/
Zik Zak That film is like Terminator 3. It does not exist. It will NEVER exist. And should it come into existence like some misbegotten, mutated abortion-survival, it would be necessary to create a time machine and some sort of killer cyborg to go back from the future to kill EVERYONE involved in its creation.
Speaking as a metalhead who fucking LOVES John Carpenter's documentaries, especially the ones about Kurt FUCKING Russell I have to say that I don't think this needed doing, but I'm glad that you did it anyway
Esuba Hi! Thanks for the comment. Yeah, the original is exceptional in how emotional it is with relatively little in terms of instrumentation. I wanted to try something different with this interpretation, but no cover will ever be as great as the original. :-)
Great rendition on awesome soundtrack, I was thinkin maybe that first you just take that melody through power chords, and then do the solo part at second half...anyway regardsss
Thanks for the comment! I'm really glad you like the song. Unfortunately, the licensing in place doesn't allow me to give it out for use in other videos. If you're looking for something similar, I'd be happy to talk to you about recording a custom song. You're welcome to comment here or email me at viking.guitar.productions@gmail.com. Thanks again!

Good news: My hair grew 6 inches and a manly beard popped out
Bad news: I lost my left eye
Best News: EYEPATCH BITCH
Hahaha, that put a smile on my face!
This Theme tune was made to have an 80's metal version. Also Snake Plissken is without a doubt the coolest action hero ever created.
Thanks for the kind words!
Gotta agree...
I would argue...I would tell you you're wrong...but...YOU'RE NOT!!!
John Carpenter would be proud of this version you rocked it man.
I really appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
no need for a remake kurt can still kick ass, use this for a 3rd one
Shawn Rakes But this time he shuts down America!
Robert Rodriguez is remaking the movie in 2021
@@Embargoman He shut down the world in Escape From LA
He can be Old Snake, like in Metal Gear Solid 4.

That's wonderful news! Do I get an inauguration ceremony? If so, you're invited.
The Name's Plisskin
Billy Price Call me Snake.

I don't usually like electronic music as rock/metal covers, but you somehow managed to nail it.
Listen to his version of The Thing.
If my life had a theme song, this would be it. Awesome.

Hey, that's great to hear! I'm really glad you like it so much. I still enjoy listening to it, as well. :-)
Probably the best version apart from the original, outstanding!
Thank you for the comment! Yeah, the original is basically untouchable. I'm glad you enjoyed my version here!

Is John Carpenter one of the Patriots? I mean he looks pretty much revolver ocelot lol
lol good point xD
Well... in Son's Of Liberty... SS says to be called Pliskin.
Wouldn't be surprised if Ocelots look was based on John

Zach, that's covered in the Kurt Russell documentary Soldier.

this song could be in the 3rd part of snake plissken

Peter Weller will be returning as the gun slinging cyborg cop...
I would nut on sight if they announced this film.
